A proof of Parrott's theorem on quotient norms

We prove, as an application of our positive extension argument, a theorem of Parrott concerning the quotient norm with respect to spaces of Hilbert space operators.     

Properties of holomorphic Wiener functions —skeleton,contraction, and local Taylor expansion

Summary We show that each holomorphic Wiener function has a skeleton which is intrinsic from several viewpoints. Interpolation of Bilinear Operators Between Quasi-Banach Spaces

We study interpolation, generated by an abstract method of means, of bilinear operators between quasi-Banach spaces. It is shown that under suitable conditions on the type of these spaces and the boundedness of the classical convolution operator between the corresponding quasi-Banach sequence spaces, bilinear interpolation is possible. Applications to the classical real method spaces, Calderón-Lozanovsky spaces, and Lorentz-Zygmund spaces are presented. A topological aspect of Sobolev mappings

Let be a connected open set, . We give a sufficient condition for a mapping , , to have the property that sgn is almost everywhere of one sign. Following the work of Müller, Spector, and Tang [MST], we give an application of our results to the theory of non-linear elasticity. Domination of uniformly continuous semigroups

We prove that a bounded operator on a Banach lattice, satisfying a growth condition, is regular. Also, we prove that the generator of a C ₀-semigroup on such a lattice for which such an operator exists is bounded.     

Functorial methods in the theory of group representations I

We introduce a candidate for the group algebra of a Hausdorff group which plays the same role as the group algebra of a finite group. It allows to define a natural bijection betweenk-continuous representations of the group in a Hilbert space and continuous representations of the group algebra. Such bijections are known, but to our knowledge only for locally compact groups. We can establish such a bijection for more general groups, namely Hausdorff groups, because we replace integration techniques by functorial methods, i.e., by using a duality functor which lives in certain categories of topological Banach balls (resp., unit balls of Saks spaces).This paper was written while the authors were supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation under grant 21-33644.92.
