We study the problem of existence of conformal metrics with prescribed Q-curvature on closed four-dimensional Riemannian manifolds. This problem has a variational structure, and in the case of interest here, it is noncompact in the sense that accumulations points of some noncompact flow lines of a pseudogradient of the associated Euler–Lagrange functional, the so-called true critical points at infinity of the associated variational problem, occur. Using the characterization of the critical points at infinity of the associated variational problem which is established in [42], combined with some arguments from Morse theory, some algebraic topological methods, and some tools from dynamical system originating from Conley's isolated invariant sets and isolated blocks theory, we derive a new kind of existence results under an algebraic topological hypothesis involving the topology of the underling manifold, stable and unstable manifolds of some of the critical points at infinity of the associated Euler–Lagrange functional.  相似文献

We categorify the notion of an infinitesimal braiding in a linear strict symmetric monoidal category, leading to the notion of a (strict) infinitesimal 2-braiding in a linear symmetric strict monoidal 2-category. We describe the associated categorification of the 4-term relations, leading to six categorified relations. We prove that any infinitesimal 2-braiding gives rise to a flat and fake flat 2-connection in the configuration space of n particles in the complex plane, hence to a categorification of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov connection. We discuss infinitesimal 2-braidings in a certain monoidal 2-category naturally assigned to every differential crossed module, leading to the notion of a symmetric quasi-invariant tensor in a differential crossed module. Finally, we prove that symmetric quasi-invariant tensors exist in the differential crossed module associated to Wagemann's version of the String Lie-2-algebra. As a corollary, we obtain a more conceptual proof of the flatness of a previously constructed categorified Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov connection with values in the String Lie-2-algebra.  相似文献

In this paper we study the homotopy rigidity property of the functors ΣΩ and Ω. Our main result is that both functors are homotopy rigid on simply-connected p-local finite co-H-spaces. Let G be a compact Lie group. By work of Chataur and Menichi, the homology of the space of free loops in the classifying space of G is known to be the value on the circle in a homological conformal field theory. This means in particular that it admits operations parameterized by homology classes of classifying spaces of diffeomorphism groups of surfaces. Here we present a radical extension of this result, giving a new construction in which diffeomorphisms are replaced with homotopy equivalences, and surfaces with boundary are replaced with arbitrary spaces homotopy equivalent to finite graphs. The result is a novel kind of field theory which is related to both the diffeomorphism groups of surfaces and the automorphism groups of free groups with boundaries. Our work shows that the algebraic structures in string topology of classifying spaces can be brought into line with, and in fact far exceed, those available in string topology of manifolds. For simplicity, we restrict to the characteristic 2 case. The generalization to arbitrary characteristic will be addressed in a subsequent paper.  相似文献

We formulate a definition of isometric action of a compact quantum group (CQG) on a compact metric space, generalizing Banica's definition for finite metric spaces. For metric spaces (X,d)(X,d) which can be isometrically embedded in some Euclidean space, we prove the existence of a universal object in the category of the compact quantum groups acting isometrically on (X,d)(X,d). In fact, our existence theorem applies to a larger class, namely for any compact metric space (X,d)(X,d) which admits a one-to-one continuous map f:X→Rnf:XRn for some n   such that d0(f(x),f(y))=?(d(x,y))d0(f(x),f(y))=?(d(x,y)) (where d0d0 is the Euclidean metric) for some homeomorphism ?   of R+R+.  相似文献

We define a dispersionless tau-symmetric bihamiltonian integrable hierarchy on the space of pairs of functions analytic inside/outside the unit circle with simple poles at 0/∞0/ respectively, which extends the dispersionless 2D Toda hierarchy of Takasaki and Takebe. Then we construct the deformed flat connection of the infinite-dimensional Frobenius manifold M0M0 introduced by Carlet, Dubrovin and Mertens (2011) [3] and, by explicitly solving the deformed flatness equations, we prove that the extended 2D Toda hierarchy coincides with principal hierarchy of M0M0.  相似文献

We prove that every Kirchberg algebra in the UCT class has nuclear dimension 1. We first show that Kirchberg 2-graph algebras with trivial K0K0 and finite K1K1 have nuclear dimension 1 by adapting a technique developed by Winter and Zacharias for Cuntz algebras. We then prove that every Kirchberg algebra in the UCT class is a direct limit of 2-graph algebras to obtain our main theorem.  相似文献

The FFT‐based homogenization method of Moulinec–Suquet has recently attracted attention because of its wide range of applicability and short computational time. In this article, we deduce an optimal a priori error estimate for the homogenization method of Moulinec–Suquet, which can be interpreted as a spectral collocation method. Such methods are well‐known to converge for sufficiently smooth coefficients. We extend this result to rough coefficients. More precisely, we prove convergence of the fields involved for Riemann‐integrable coercive coefficients without the need for an a priori regularization. We show that our L2 estimates are optimal and extend to mildly nonlinear situations and Lp estimates for p in the vicinity of 2. The results carry over to the case of scalar elliptic and curl ? curl‐type equations, encountered, for instance, in stationary electromagnetism. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
