Krichever-Novikov-like bases on punctured Riemann surfaces

Bases of holomorphic -differentials on N-punctured Riemann surfaces of arbitrary genus are constructed. The resulting extension of the Virasoro algebra on N-punctured spheres is displayed explicitly.     

C*-dynamical systems that are asymptotically highly anticommutative

It is shown that with probability 1 on , resp. ongx the irrational rotation algebra with respect to the CAT map and the generalized Price-Powers shiftA _X are asymptotically highly anticommutative.     

Fluctuations of a flux driven interface

We investigate a low temperature lattice gas with short range attractive forces. Boundary chemical potentials are imposed in such a way that a sharp interface separates low and high density domains and such that there is a constant mass flux perpendicular to this interface. From a continuum theory (fluctuating hydrodynamics) we determine the interface fluctuations in this nonequilibrium steady state. They turn out to be reduced as compared to thermal equilibrium.Dedicated to Herbert Wagner on the occasion of his 60th birthday and in respect for his service to the statistical physics community     

Finite-gap Solutions of the Fuchsian Equations

We find a new class of Fuchsian equations, with algebro-geometric solutions associated to a hyperelliptic curve. A method for calculating its arithmetic genus and branching points is suggested. Numerous examples are given.

A non-linear version of Hunt-Lion's theorem from the point of view of T-accretivity

In the classical topological context, Dellacherie [10] has given a non-linear version of Hunt's theorem characterizing the proper kernels verifying the complete maximum principle as those closing a submarkovian resolvent. In this paper we study the relation between this non-linear version of Hunt's theorem and T-accretivity.     

Analysis of mixed finite element methods on locally refined grids

Summary We consider the mixed finite element method for locally refined triangulations. A local projection operator is defined to satisfy the commutation property that is required in the general theory of mixed methods. Our results can be applied to every known space of arbitrary order over rectangles or triangles. Optimal-order error estimates and superconvergence for the flux along the Gauss lines are established.

As a co-product we develop a new proof of the Hilbert—Schmidt decomposition theorem for functions lying inL ² (X × Y).
