We investigate the existence of positive solutions to the singular fractional boundary value problem: $^c\hspace{-1.0pt}D^{\alpha }u +f(t,u,u^{\prime },^c\hspace{-2.0pt}D^{\mu }u)=0$, u′(0) = 0, u(1) = 0, where 1 < α < 2, 0 < μ < 1, f is a Lq‐Carathéodory function, $q > \frac{1}{\alpha -1}$, and f(t, x, y, z) may be singular at the value 0 of its space variables x, y, z. Here $^c \hspace{-1.0pt}D$ stands for the Caputo fractional derivative. The results are based on combining regularization and sequential techniques with a fixed point theorem on cones.  相似文献

Let G be an abelian topological group. The symbol $\widehat{G}Let G be an abelian topological group. The symbol $\widehat{G}$ denotes the group of all continuous characters $\chi :G\rightarrow {\mathbb T}$ endowed with the compact open topology. A subset E of G is said to be qc‐dense in G provided that χ(E)?φ([? 1/4, 1/4]) holds only for the trivial character $\chi \in \widehat{G}$, where $\varphi : {\mathbb R}\rightarrow {\mathbb T}={\mathbb R}/{\mathbb Z}$ is the canonical homomorphism. A super‐sequence is a non‐empty compact Hausdorff space S with at most one non‐isolated point (to which S converges). We prove that an infinite compact abelian group G is connected if and only if its arc component Ga contains a super‐sequence converging to 0 that is qc‐dense in G. This gives as a corollary a recent theorem of Außenhofer: For a connected locally compact abelian group G, the restriction homomorphism $r:\widehat{G}\rightarrow \widehat{G}_a$ defined by $r(\chi )=\chi \upharpoonright _{G_a}$ for $\chi \in \widehat{G}$, is a topological isomorphism. We show that an infinite compact group G is connected if and only if its arc component Ga contains a super‐sequence converging to the identity that is qc‐dense in G and generates a dense subgroup of G. We also offer a short alternative proof of the result of Hofmann and Morris on the existence of suitable sets of minimal size in the arc component of a compact connected group.  相似文献

The general representation for the elements of the inverse of any Hessenberg matrix of finite order is here extended to the reduced case with a new proof. Those entries are given with proper Hessenbergians from the original matrix. It justifies both the use of linear recurrences of unbounded order for such computations on matrices of intermediate order, and some elementary properties of the inverse. These results are applied on the resolvent matrix associated to a finite Hessenberg matrix in standard form. Two examples on the unit disk are given.  相似文献

In 1975, Tom Koornwinder studied examples of two variable analogues of the Jacobi polynomials in two variables. Those orthogonal polynomials are eigenfunctions of two commuting and algebraically independent partial differential operators. Some of these examples are well known classical orthogonal polynomials in two variables, such as orthogonal polynomials on the unit ball, on the simplex or the tensor product of Jacobi polynomials in one variable, but the remaining cases are not considered classical by other authors. The definition of classical orthogonal polynomials considered in this work provides a different perspective on the subject. We analyze in detail Koornwinder polynomials and using the Koornwinder tools, new examples of orthogonal polynomials in two variables are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a class of nonlinear complementarity problems arising from the discretization of the free boundary problem, which was recently studied by Sun and Zeng [Z. Sun, J. Zeng, A monotone semismooth Newton type method for a class of complementarity problems, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 235 (5) (2011) 1261–1274]. We propose a new non-interior continuation algorithm for solving this class of problems, where the full-Newton step is used in each iteration. We show that the algorithm is globally convergent, where the iteration sequence of the variable converges monotonically. We also prove that the algorithm is globally linearly and locally superlinearly convergent without any additional assumption, and locally quadratically convergent under suitable assumptions. The preliminary numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

For the Nevanlinna–Pick interpolation problem with nn interpolation conditions (interior and boundary), we construct a family of rational solutions of degree at most n−1n1. We also establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence and the uniqueness of a solution with the minimally possible HH-norm and construct a family of minimal-norm rational solutions of degree at most n−1n1 in the indeterminate case. Finally, we supplement a result of Ruscheweyh and Jones showing that in case the interpolation nodes and the target values are all unimodular, any rational solution of degree at most n−1n1 is necessarily a finite Blaschke product.  相似文献

A global optimization problem is studied where the objective function f(x)f(x) is a multidimensional black-box function and its gradient f(x)f(x) satisfies the Lipschitz condition over a hyperinterval with an unknown Lipschitz constant KK. Different methods for solving this problem by using an a priori given estimate of KK, its adaptive estimates, and adaptive estimates of local Lipschitz constants are known in the literature. Recently, the authors have proposed a one-dimensional algorithm working with multiple estimates of the Lipschitz constant for f(x)f(x) (the existence of such an algorithm was a challenge for 15 years). In this paper, a new multidimensional geometric method evolving the ideas of this one-dimensional scheme and using an efficient one-point-based partitioning strategy is proposed. Numerical experiments executed on 800 multidimensional test functions demonstrate quite a promising performance in comparison with popular DIRECT-based methods.  相似文献

Moreover the author studies the Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem for the Moisil-Theodorsco system in a cylindrical domain of R3, and gives the solvability conditions and the integral expressions of solutions. This article is devoted to characterize all possible effective behaviors of composite materials by means of periodic homogenization. This is known as a G-closure problem. Under convexity and p  -growth conditions (p>1p>1), it is proved that all such possible effective energy densities obtained by a Γ-convergence analysis, can be locally recovered by the pointwise limit of a sequence of periodic homogenized energy densities with prescribed volume fractions. A weaker locality result is also provided without any kind of convexity assumption and the zero level set of effective energy densities is characterized in terms of Young measures. A similar result is given for cell integrands which enables to propose new counter-examples to the validity of the cell formula in the nonconvex case and to the continuity of the determinant with respect to the two-scale convergence.  相似文献
