珠算是以算盘为计算工具的一种实用科学技术，是我国古代五大发明之一，渊源流长，距今已有三千多年的历史。不论是过去、现在乃至未来都是人类不可缺少的科技，具有极其重要的战略意义。在其创建发展的历史长河中，为我国的政治、经济、军事、科学、文化、教育、心理、生理、卫生和人民日常生活等诸多方面，长期地发挥着巨大的作用。打算盘打出了许多绝活与奇迹，建立了许多丰功与伟绩。

An Atomic Force Microscopy Investigation of the Tracks Made by C1^＋－C4^＋ Bombardment on CR－39 Detectors

Carbon micro-clusters are accelerated by an HI-13 tandem accelerator. The plastic nuclear track detectors CR-39are irradiated by C1-C4 beams from the HI-13 tandem accelerator and the tracks in CR-39 are studied using anatomic force microscope (AFM). The depths and diameters of C1-C4 tracks are measured for the first time in ananometre scale. An enhancement of the energy loss is obtained for carbon clusters related to single carbon ionswith the same velocity. The results show that the AFM observation is very useful in the quantitative analysis ofclusters in the track detector CR-39.

Preliminary Safety Assessment of Chinese ITER TBM Design with Helium-cooled Solid Breeder Concept

The China home team is developing an ITER TBM based on a helium-cooled solid breeder （HCSB） DEMO blanket concept . This blanket concept employs high-pressure helium （8 MPa） to cool down the blanket first wall （FW） and side wall （SW） structures and the interior of the blanket module, including the beryllium multiplier pebble beds and the Li4SiO4 breeder pebble beds （enriched lithium-6 of 80%）. The tritium breeder is purged by forced flow low-pressure helium （0.1 MPa） provided by the tritium extraction system （TES）. Low activation ferritic/martensitic steel is selected as the structural material for the TBM.
