A new Bi-doped Mg–Al–silicate glass is suggested and investigated. It can be fabricated by moderate-temperature routine technology.
The characteristic relaxation time of 300–800 μs in combination with the high quantum yield (up to 85%) and wide excitation
spectrum makes this glass a promising laser material. The obtained quadratic dependence of the visible absorption intensity
is an argument in favor of the hypothesis that the absorption and infrared luminescence in Bi-doped glasses are caused by

A tunable diode laser (TDL) is used to measure the absorption spectra of the R46 through R54 transitions of the 20012←00001 band of CO2 near 2.0 μm (5000 cm−1) at room temperature and pressures to 10 atm (densities to 9.2 amagat). Spectra are recorded using direct absorption spectroscopy
and wavelength modulation spectroscopy with second-harmonic detection (WMS-2f) in a mixture containing 11% CO2 in air. The direct absorption spectra are influenced by non-Lorentzian effects including finite-duration collisions which
perturb far-wing absorption, and an empirical χ-function correction to the Voigt line shape is shown to greatly reduce error in the spectral model. WMS-2f spectra are shown
to be at least a factor of four less-influenced by non-Lorentzian effects in this region, making this approach more resistant
to errors in the far-wing line shape model and allowing a comparison between the spectral parameters of HITRAN and a new database
which includes pressure-induced shift coefficients. The implications of these measurements on practical, high-pressure CO2 sensor design are discussed. 相似文献

This paper reports on the sonochemical-assisted synthesis of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) nanoparticles (NPs) which have a single-crystalline perovskite structure. The average particle size of LSMO NPs was
controlled from about 40 to 120 nm by changing the annealing temperatures from 750 to 1050°C. The particle size, electrical
resistivity, and ferromagnetic transition temperature of LSMO NPs were strongly dependent on the annealing temperature. A
substantial decrease in resistivity and an enhancement in the insulator–metal transition temperature were found on increasing
the annealing temperature. Furthermore, the enhancement in magnetization and paramagnetic–ferromagnetic (PM–FM) transition

We report term energies and quantum defects of highly excited even-parity states of mercury in the 83 876–84 140 cm-1 energy range, employing a two-step laser excitation scheme via the S0↦6s6p3P1 inter-combination transition. Two dye lasers, pumped by a common Nd:YAG laser, were frequency doubled by BBO crystals and
used to record the spectra in conjunction with a thermionic diode ion detector. Our new observations include the much extended
D2 (22 ≤n ≤52) series and a few members of the S1 (24 ≤n ≤30) Rydberg series. Members of the D2 Rydberg series with such a high n value are reported for the first time. Recent experimental and theoretical improvements of resonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) are summarized to investigate elastic
constants of phases in shape memory alloys. The proposed inversion procedure, described in this work, is particularly suitable
to reliable evaluation of the temperature dependence of elastic constants of low-symmetry ferroelastic materials which may
be strongly elastically anisotropic and tend to exist in twinned forms. The method is applicable even for the evaluation of
single-crystal elastic constants from RUS measurements on microtwinned crystals, since it involves a homogenization algorithm
based on the macroscopic deformation response of the layered structure. This potentially allows performing meaningful acoustic

The conformations of three analogues of baclofen 1: phaclofen, saclofen, and hydroxy-saclofen 2–4, potent GABAB antagonists, in solution (D2O) are estimated from high-resolution (300 MHz) H NMR coupling data. Conformations and populations of conformers are calculated by means of a modified Karplus-like relationship for the vicinal coupling constants. H NMR spectral analysis evidences how 1–3 keep in solution the preferred a conformation around C3-C4 bond. A partial rotation is set up around C2–C3 bond (the conformations about C2–C3 are all highly populated in solution) particularly for 2 and 3 while 1 shows a relative preferred a conformation.
