We give criteria for R-equivalence of torsors under finite constant group schemes over a field. In particular, using bitorsors, we obtain a Galois dévissage result which formalises and generalises a theorem of Philippe Gille in the case of local fields; for instance, Gille's theorem is shown to extend to higher local fields.  相似文献

One of the open questions in the geometry of line arrangements is to what extent does the incidence lattice of an arrangement determine its fundamental group. Line arrangements of up to 6 lines were recently classified by K.M. Fan (Michigan Math. J. 44(2) (1997) 283), and it turns out that the incidence lattice of such arrangements determines the projective fundamental group. We use actions on the set of wiring diagrams, introduced in (Garber et al. (J. Knot Theory Ramf.), to classify real arrangements of up to 8 lines. In particular, we show that the incidence lattice of such arrangements determines both the affine and the projective fundamental groups.  相似文献

We show that the complex link of a large class of space germs (X,x0) is characterized by its “simplicity”, among the Milnor fibres of functions with isolated singularity on X. This amounts to the minimality of the Milnor number, whenever this number is defined. Such a phenomenon has been first pointed out in case (X,x0) is an isolated hypersurface singularity, by Teissier (Cycles évanescents, sections planes et conditions de Whitney, in: Singularités à Cargèse 1972, Asterisque, Nos. 7 et 8, Soc. We classified in Bisch and Jones (Duke Math. J. 101 (2000) 41) all spherical C∗-planar algebras generated by a non-trivial 2-box subject to the condition that the dimension of N′∩M2 is ?12. We showed that they are given by the Fuss-Catalan systems discovered in Bisch and Jones (Invent. Math. 128 (1997) 89) and one exceptional planar algebra. In the present paper, we extend these results and show that there is only one spherical C∗-planar algebra generated by a single non-trivial 2-box if the dimension of N′∩M2 is 13. It is given by the standard invariant of the crossed product subfactor , where D5 denotes the dihedral group with 10 elements.  相似文献

Lafforgue, for each prime number ?′≠p, there exists an irreducible lisse -sheaf on X which is compatible with , in the sense that at every closed point x of X, the characteristic polynomials of Frobenius at x for and are equal. We prove an “independence of ?” assertion on the fields of definition of these irreducible ?′-adic sheaves : namely, that there exists a number field F such that for any prime number ?′≠p, the -sheaf above is defined over the completion of F at one of its ?′-adic places.  相似文献

We develop a notion of an n-fold monoidal category and show that it corresponds in a precise way to the notion of an n-fold loop space. Specifically, the group completion of the nerve of such a category is an n-fold loop space, and free n-fold monoidal categories give rise to a finite simplicial operad of the same homotopy type as the classical little cubes operad used to parametrize the higher H-space structure of an n-fold loop space. We also show directly that this operad has the same homotopy type as the n-th Smith filtration of the Barratt-Eccles operad and the n-th filtration of Berger's complete graph operad. Moreover, this operad contains an equivalent preoperad which gives rise to Milgram's small model for when n=2 and is very closely related to Milgram's model of for n>2.  相似文献

We establish global solutions of nonconcave hyperbolic equations with relaxation arising from traffic flow. One of the characteristic fields of the system is neither linearly degenerate nor genuinely nonlinear. Furthermore, there is no dissipative mechanism in the relaxation system. Characteristics travel no faster than traffic. The global existence and uniqueness of the solution to the Cauchy problem are established by means of a finite difference approximation. To deal with the nonconcavity, we use a modified argument of Oleinik (Amer. Math. Soc. Translations 26 (1963) 95). It is also shown that the zero relaxation limit of the solutions exists and is the unique entropy solution of the equilibrium equation.  相似文献

We study the initial-boundary-value problems for multidimensional scalar conservation laws in noncylindrical domains with Lipschitz boundary. We show the existence-uniqueness of this problem for initial-boundary data in L and the flux-function in the class C1. In fact, first considering smooth boundary, we obtain the L1-contraction property, discuss the existence problem and prove it by the Young measures theory. In the end we show how to pass the existence-uniqueness results on to some domains with Lipschitz boundary.  相似文献
