Let
(P) be the moduli space of irreducible connections of a G-principal bundle P over a closed Riemannian spin manifold M. Let DA be the Dirac operator of M coupled to a connection A of P and f a smooth function on M. We consider a smooth variation A(u) of A with tangent vector ω and denote Tω:=
(DA(u)−f) (u=0. The coefficients of the asymptotic expansion of trace (Tω · e-t(DA−f)2) near t=0 define 1-forms a(k)f, K=0, 1, 2, … on
(P). In this paper we calculate aa(0)f, a(1)f, a(2)f and study some of their properties. For instance using the 1-form a(2)f for suitable functions f we obtain a foliation of codimension 5 of the space of G-instantons of S4. 相似文献

We compute the axial anomaly of a Lifshitz fermion theory with anisotropic scaling z = 3 which is minimally coupled to geometry in 3+1 space‐time dimensions. We find that the result is identical to the relativistic case using path integral methods. An independent verification is provided by showing with spectral methods that the η‐invariant of the Dirac and Lifshitz fermion operators in three dimensions are equal. Thus, by the integrated form of the anomaly, the index of the Dirac operator still accounts for the possible breakdown of chiral symmetry in non‐relativistic theories of gravity. We apply this framework to the recently constructed gravitational instanton backgrounds of Hořava–Lifshitz theory and find that the index is non‐zero provided that the space‐time foliation admits leaves with harmonic spinors. Using Hitchin's construction of harmonic spinors on Berger spheres, we obtain explicit results for the index of the fermion operator on all such gravitational instanton backgrounds with SU(2) × U(1) isometry. In contrast to the instantons of Einstein gravity, chiral symmetry breaking becomes possible in the unimodular phase of Hořava–Lifshitz theory arising at λ = 1/3 provided that the volume of space is bounded from below by the ratio of the Ricci to Cotton tensor couplings raised to the third power. Some other aspects of the anomalies in non‐relativistic quantum field theories are also discussed. 相似文献

We investigate the spectrum and decay rates of charmonium states within the framework of the non relativistic quark model by employing a Coulomb like potential from the perturbative one gluon exchange and the linear confining potential along with the potential derived from instanton vacuum to account for the hyperfine mass splitting of charmonium states in variational approach. We predict radiative E1, M1, two-photon, lepton and two-gluon decay rates of low lying charmonium states. An overall agreement is obtained with the experimental masses and decay widths. We have estimated the branching ratio of two gluons decaying into light hadrons. 相似文献

We discuss instanton partition functions in various spacetime dimensions. These partition functions capture some information
about the spectrum of the supersymmetric gauge theories and their low-energy dynamics. Some of these theories can be defined
microscopically only through string theory. Remarkably, they even know about the M-theory. Our conjectures include the identities
between the generalization of the MacMahon formula and the character of M-theory, compactified down to 0 + 1 dimension.

On P3, we show that mathematical instantons in characteristic two are unobstructed. We produce upper bounds for the dimension of the moduli space of stable rank two bundles on P3 in characteristic two. In cases where there is a phenomenon of good reduction modulo two, these give similar results in characteristic zero. We also give an example of a nonreduced component of the moduli space in characteristic two. 相似文献

We study the Schwinger mechanism in the presence of an additional uniformly oriented, weak super Gaussian of integer order 4 N + 2. Using the worldline approach, we determine the relevant critical points to compute the leading order exponential factor analytically. We show that increasing the parameter N gives rise to a strong dynamical enhancement. For N=2, this effect turns out to be larger compared to a weak contribution of the Sauter type. For higher orders, specifically, for the rectangular barrier limit, i.e. N→∞, we approach the Lorentzian case as an upper bound. Although the mentioned backgrounds significantly differ in Minkowski spacetime, we show that the found coincidence applies due to identical reflection points in the Euclidean instanton plane. In addition, we also treat the background in perturbation theory following recent ideas. By doing so, we show that the parameter N determines whether the weak contribution behaves perturbatively or nonperturbatively with respect to the field strength ratio, and, hence, reveals an interesting dependence on the background shape. In particular, we show that for backgrounds, for which higher orders in the field strength ratio turn out to be relevant, a proposed integral condition is not fulfilled. In view of these findings, the latter may serve as an indicator for the necessity for higher-order contributions. 相似文献

For fibred boundary and fibred cusp metrics, Hausel, Hunsicker, and Mazzeo identified the space of L2 harmonic forms of fixed degree with the images of maps between intersection cohomology groups of an associated stratified space obtained by collapsing the fibres of the fibration at infinity onto its base. In the present paper, we obtain a generalization of this result to situations where, rather than a fibration at infinity, there is a Riemannian foliation with compact leaves admitting a resolution by a fibration. If the associated stratified space (obtained now by collapsing the leaves of the foliation) is a Witt space and if the metric considered is a foliated cusp metric, then no such resolution is required. 相似文献

The construction of Yang-Mills instantons with the symmetries of the platonic solids is described within the ADHM construction.
As an example, the ADHM data is presented for an icosahedrally symmetric charge seventeen instanton with the structure of
the truncated icosahedron.

In this paper we prove that the moduli spaces of framed vector bundles over a surface X, satisfying certain conditions, admit a family of Poisson structures parametrized by the global sections of a certain line bundle on X. This generalizes to the case of framed vector bundles previous results obtained in [B2] for the moduli space of vector bundles over a Poisson surface. As a corollary of this result we prove that the moduli spaces of framed SU(r) – instantons on S4 = ℝ4 ∪ {∞} admit a natural holomorphic symplectic structure. 相似文献
