Several modifications to the Davidson algorithm are systematically explored to establish their performance for an assortment of configuration interaction (CI) computations. The combination of a generalized Davidson method, a periodic two‐vector subspace collapse, and a blocked Davidson approach for multiple roots is determined to retain the convergence characteristics of the full subspace method. This approach permits the efficient computation of wave functions for large‐scale CI matrices by eliminating the need to ever store more than three expansion vectors ( b i) and associated matrix‐vector products ( σ i), thereby dramatically reducing the I/O requirements relative to the full subspace scheme. The minimal‐storage, single‐vector method of Olsen is found to be a reasonable alternative for obtaining energies of well‐behaved systems to within μEh accuracy, although it typically requires around 50% more iterations and at times is too inefficient to yield high accuracy (ca. 10?10 Eh) for very large CI problems. Several approximations to the diagonal elements of the CI Hamiltonian matrix are found to allow simple on‐the‐fly computation of the preconditioning matrix, to maintain the spin symmetry of the determinant‐based wave function, and to preserve the convergence characteristics of the diagonalization procedure. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. We study reflection diffuse optical tomography using two-dimensional (2D) continuous-wave source-detector arrays on the surface of semi-infinite medium, aiming at imaging the perfusion and the hemoglobin oxygen saturation variation of human cerebral cortex with brain activation. We had previously formulated the inverse problem with Moore-Penrose inversion. When we use simple regularization in this inverse problem, the reconstruction sensitivity decreases markedly with the depth so that the signal in the deep range may be masked by an unwanted signal in the shallow range. In this paper, we propose a depth-adaptive regularized reconstruction, in which we assign a smaller regularization parameter with the depth. We demonstrate improvement of the three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction uniformity using the proposed scheme.  相似文献

The ionization spectrum of sulfur dioxide has been successfully studied by using the symmetry-adapted-cluster configuration-interaction (SAC-CI) general-R and SD-R methods and the basis set correlation-consistent polarized valence triple-zeta (cc-pVTZ). The SAC-CI general-R method reproduces the experimental spectrum well for both the main peaks and the satellite peaks of ionization spectrum of SO2. The sequence of ionic states corresponding to main peaks of SO2 has been re-determined according to the SAC-CI conclusions and it is reordered as X^2A1, A^2B2, B2A2, C^2B1,D^2A1, E^2B2 and F^2A1. Besides, the equilibrium structures and adiabatic ionization potentials (AIPs) of ionic states of main peaks of SO2 are calculated by using the SAC-CI SD-R method.  相似文献

In the real-world application of face recognition system, owing to the difficulties of collecting samples or storage space of systems, only one sample image per person is stored in the system, which is so-called one sample per person problem. Moreover, pose and illumination have impact on recognition performance. We propose a novel pose and illumination robust algorithm for face recognition with a single training image per person to solve the above limitations. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is an efficient and practical approach for face recognition.  相似文献

The scaling and additivity properties of Rényi entropy in rapidity space of the instanton final state (IFS) and current jet identified by the r-sorting method from the QCDINS Monte Carlo event sample are to saturation with decreasing phase space scale. Furthermore, it is found that the additivity of H2 holds well for the IFS in narrow rapidity windows at different positions. These results indicate that the IFS produced in the instanton-induced process of deep inelastic scattering has reached local equilibrium.  相似文献
