Maximal elements in noncompact spaces with application to equilibria

A new maximal theorem for -majorized correspondences in noncompact spaces is presented and applied to obtain an equilibrium existence theorem for noncompact abstract economies. The corresponding results of Borglin and Keiding (1976), Yannelis and Prabhakar (1983), Ding and Tan (1993), Yuan and Tarafdar (1996), and Ding and Yuan (1998) are generalized by our results.

     

Synthesis of pennogenin utilizing the intact skeleton of diosgenin

Pennogenin (1) is an aglycone of bioactive com-ponents of Chinese traditional medicine named Chonglou(Paris),[1] which belongs to C-17-hy- droxyl-steroidal sapogenin. It is well known that Chonglou as well as the related herbs containing pennogenin and its glycosides have been used as haemostatic agents in clinic. They also exhibit antibi-otic and antitumor activity[1,2]. With the demand amount of Chonglou as well as the related drugs increasing while the plant resource decreasing day by day…     

THE ROLLING DEVELOPMENT MODEL OF ECOLOGICAL ECONOMY COMBINED WATER CONSERVANCY CONSTRUCTION WITH SCHISTOSOMIASIS CONTROL

Abstract. On the basis of classification of geographical properties a rolling development goal programming model is formulated in correspondence with the ecopattern group in Four-Lake Area. In this model, the control of schistosomiasis and strengthen-Lug of the drainage-storage function are both regarded as ecological measures during the process of multi-year(r0) ecological economic rolling development to make the ecoagrlcultural system in this area into a stably operating, ordered, and good cyclicsystem under the support of some controllable factors.     

Cyclosmenospongine, a new sesquiterpenoid aminoquinone from an Australian marine sponge Spongia sp.

A new sesquiterpenoid aminoquinone, cyclosmenospongine (1), containing a dihydropyran ring, was isolated from an Australian marine sponge Spongia sp., along with the known metabolites, smenospongiarine, ilimaquinone and smenospongine. The structure of 1 was determined from spectroscopic data.     

Further chemical studies on the Antarctic nudibranch Austrodoris kerguelenensis: new terpenoid acylglycerols and revision of the previous stereochemistry

The diterpenoid acylglycerol fraction from an extract of the mantle of a new collection of the Antarctic dorid gastropod mollusc Austrodoris kerguelenensis has been chemically analysed. Two novel 2-monoacylglycerols 9 and 12, along with known 1,2-diacyl glyceryl esters 5 and 6, now reassigned as 7 and 8, have been isolated. The linkage of a diterpenoid moiety at C-2 of glycerol characterizes all the compounds. Because the R absolute stereochemistry at C-2 of glycerol has been established for the corresponding 1,3-glyceryl esters 1 and 2, derived from 7 and 8 by acyl-migration of the terpenoid moiety from C-2 to C-3, our finding implies that 1,2-derivatives from Antarctic nudibranchs have the same S stereochemistry as all 1,2-sn-diacylglycerols from the other dorids.     

A Fixed Point Theorem and an Equilibrium Point of an Abstract Economy in <Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-spaces

In this note we first prove a fixed point theorem in H-spaces which unities and extends the corresponding results in [6] and [9]. Then, by applying the fixed point theorem, we prove an existence theorem of an equilibrium point of an abstract economy in H-spaces which improves and generalizes similar result in [4].     

Energy and Climate Policy Analysis with the Hybrid Bottom-Up Computable General Equilibrium Model SCREEN: The Case of the Swiss CO2 Act

This paper shows how bottom-up activity analyses within a dynamic computable general equilibrium framework can be undertaken for the longer-term analysis of energy and climate policies using the model SCREEN [25]. In particular we demonstrate for the case of Switzerland how the impact of policy measures to reduce the carbon intensity of the energy sector can be assessed with such a model for various socio-economic and environmental dimensions (e.g., C0₂ emissions, GDP, employment, foreign exchange rate). The results can provide valuable insights for the appropriate design of energy or climate policies that allow for the targeted fostering of a more sustainable energy development.     

Efficiency and Stability in a Discrete Model of Country Formation

This paper studies efficient and stable country configurations in a simple model of country formation. Driving force of the model is a trade-off between the benefits of large countries and the costs of heterogeneity of large and diverse populations. We show that efficient configurations as well as stable configurations exist for each value of the model parameter; however, there is no unambiguous relation between them. Moreover, country sizes in efficient configurations may differ by at most two, while in stable configurations the differences in their sizes may be relatively high. Our results contrast with those of Alesina and Spolaore (1997).

余热发电系统的多目标优化设计(英文)

将船舶主机排气余热用于发电，来满足船舶在航行时的用电需要，这是一个十分引人的节能方式。本文将多目标规划用于余热发电系统的优化设计。在建立的多目标优化模型中，将余热锅炉──汽轮发电机组的主要热力参数作为设计变量，选取系统造价和输出电功率作为两个目标函数。采用序列最优化方法处理多目标问题，用精确罚函数法求解约束非线性规划。最后以某集装箱船为例，给出优化设计结果．
