In the present paper, we introduce some new subclasses of meromorphic starlike,convex, close-to-convex and quasi-convex functions of β-reciprocal in terms of the linear operator using subordination. We obtain the coefficient estimates, convolution properties, integral preserving properties and inclusion relationships of the classes. The results presented here include several results as their special cases.     

A macroscopic model for an intermediate state between type‐I and type‐II superconductivity

A vectorial nonlocal and nonlinear parabolic problem on a bounded domain for an intermediate state between type‐I and type‐II superconductivity is proposed. The domain is for instance a multiband superconductor that combines the characteristics of both types. The nonlocal term is represented by a (space) convolution with a singular kernel arising in Eringen's model. The nonlinearity is coming from the power law relation by Rhyner. The well‐posedness of the problem is discussed under low regularity assumptions and the error estimate for a semi‐implicit time‐discrete scheme based on backward Euler approximation is established. A local parallel superconvergence method for the incompressible flow by coarsening projection

In this article, we investigate a local parallel superconvergence method by coarsening projection for the incompressible Stokes flow. The method is a combination of the local superconvergence technique and the given framework of local parallel method. For the smooth subdomains, the local superconvergence method is applied in a higher order finite dimensional space corresponding to an appropriate coarse mesh on interior domain. Moreover, a useful and flexible local parallel method is designed to obtain the local parallel superconvergence results of presented method, which offset theoretical limitation of the model without the smoothness of the exact solution and a priori regularity of the underlying problem over the whole domain. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Cross-Correlated Motions in Azidolysozyme

The changes in the local and global dynamics of azide-labelled lysozyme compared with that of the wild type protein are quantitatively assessed for all alanine residues along the polypeptide chain. Although attaching -N3 to alanine residues has been considered to be a minimally invasive change in the protein it is found that depending on the location of the alanine residue, the local and global changes in the dynamics differ. For Ala92, the change in the cross-correlated motions are minimal, whereas attaching -N3 to Ala90 leads to pronounced differences in the local and global correlations as quantified by the cross-correlation coefficients of the Cα atoms. We also demonstrate that the spectral region of the asymmetric azide stretch distinguishes between alanine attachment sites, whereas changes in the low frequency, far-infrared region are less characteristic.     

SPACE-TIME DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN METHOD FOR MAXWELL EQUATIONS IN DISPERSIVE MEDIA

In this paper, a unified model for time-dependent Maxwell equations in dispersive media is considered. The space-time DG method developed in [29] is applied to solve the underlying problem. Unconditional L2-stability and error estimate of order O τr+1+ hk+1/2 are obtained when polynomials of degree at most r and k are used for the temporal discretization and spatial discretization respectively. 2-D and 3-D numerical examples are given to validate the theoretical results. Moreover, numerical results show an ultra-convergence of order 2r + 1 in temporal variable t.

Estimation of a smooth quantile function under the proportional hazards model

The problem of estimating a smooth quantile function, Q(·), at a fixed point p, 0 < p < 1, is treated under a nonparametric smoothness condition on Q. The asymptotic relative deficiency of the sample quantile based on the maximum likelihood estimate of the survival function under the proportional hazards model with respect to kernel type estimators of the quantile is evaluated. The comparison is based on the mean square errors of the estimators. It is shown that the relative deficiency tends to infinity as the sample size, n, tends to infinity.
