A system-theoretic framework is proposed, which allows the study of hybrid uncertain systems, which do not satisfy the so-called “semigroup property.” Characterizations of the notion of robust global asymptotic output stability (RGAOS) are given. Based on the provided characterizations, the qualitative behavior of hybrid systems obtained by time-discretization of systems of ordinary differential equations with a globally asymptotically stable equilibrium point, is studied.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the polyharmonic system m(−Δ)U=Vq,m(−Δ)V=Up in RN, for m>1, N>2m, with p?1, q?1, but not both equal to 1, where m(−Δ) is the polyharmonic operator. Set α=2m(q+1)/(pq−1), β=2m(p+1)/(pq−1), for α,β∈[(N−2)/2,N−2m), we prove the nonexistence of positive solutions.  相似文献

Measurements and data analysis have proved very effective in the study of the Internet's physical fabric and have shown heterogeneities and statistical fluctuations extending over several orders of magnitude. Here we focus on the relationship between the Round-Trip-Time (RTT) and the geographical distance. We define dimensionless variables that contain information on the quality of Internet connections finding that their probability distributions are characterized by a slow power-law decay signalling the presence of scale-free features. These results point out the extreme heterogeneity of Internet delay since the transmission speed between different points of the network exhibits very large fluctuations. The associated scaling exponents appear to have fairly stable values in different data sets and thus define an invariant characteristic of the Internet that might be used in the future as a benchmark of the overall state of “health” of the Internet. The invariants of chaotic bounded Hamiltonian systems and their relation to the solutions of the first variational equations of the equations of motion are studied. We show that these invariants are characterized by the fact that they either lose the property of differentiability as functions on phase space or that a certain formal power series defined in terms of the derivatives of the invariants has zero radius of convergence. This paper discusses the numerical solution of eigenvalue problems for Hamiltonian systems of ordinary differential equations. Two new codes are presented which incorporate the algorithms described here; to the best of the author’s knowledge, these are the first codes capable of solving numerically such general eigenvalue problems. One of these implements a new new method of solving a differential equation whose solution is a unitary matrix. Both codes are fully documented and are written inPfort-verifiedFortran 77, and will be available in netlib/aicm/sl11f and netlib/aicm/sl12f.  相似文献

The theory of nonequilibrium potentials or quasipotentials is a physically motivated approach to small random perturbations of dynamical systems, leading to exponential estimates of invariant probabilities and mean first exit times. In the present article we develop the mathematical foundation of this theory for discrete-time systems, following and extending the work of Freidlin and Wentzell, and Kifer. We discuss strategies for calculating and estimating quasipotentials and show their application to one-dimensionalS-unimodal maps. The method proves to be especially suited for describing the noise scaling behavior of invariant probabilities, e.g., for the map occurring as the limit of the Feigenbaum period-doubling sequence. We show that the method allows statements about the scaling behavior in the case of localized noise, too, which does not originally lie within the scope of the quasipotential formalism.  相似文献

We address in this paper the problem of finding an optimal strategy for dealing with bottleneck machines and bottleneck parts in the cell formation process in group technology. Three types of economic decisions are considered: subcontracting, machine duplication and intercell moves. The problem is formulated as a minimum weighted node covering problem in a hypergraph, and we show that it can be solved in polynomial time by finding a maximum weighted stable set in a bipartite graph. We extend this result to cellular manufacturing systems in which the sequence of operations of each part is known in advance.  相似文献
