在二维三角光子晶体环形腔的周围增加六个散射介质柱,构成一个新的环形腔结构,该结构使光波的透射率达到90%,带宽也比较小。通过改变光子晶体介质柱的折射率,使环形腔的选择波长不断改变,能够明显地区分出两个不同波长,且分波波长在通信波长范围之内。将不同折射材料的光子晶体连接在一起,构成一种新的光子晶体波分复用器,相比同种材料,它具有高效率,多波长选择的优点。利用这种异质结构可以构建一个多波长的波分复用结构,它也为制作多通道波分复用器奠定了基础。 相似文献

Channel sharing in a WDM-based lightwaue network provides a way to reduce the number of wauelengths required for the implementation of a large network, while the network virtual connectivity can be dramatically increased. In this paper, we first introduce a so-called group policy that achieves a virtual topology with maximum connectivity and simplifies the optimal design of a trafjic sensitiue virtual topology. We propose a two-stage algorithm: a node-to-group assignment and a wauelength-to-group assignment. The results show that the proposed algorithm is a practical tool that efjiciently reconfigures the connectivity diagram to fit best the current traffic pattern. 相似文献

为了寻求更高质量和密集度的WDM器件,对体全息技术制作WDM器件的新方法进行了研究。利用耦合波理论讨论了光折变多重体全息光栅作为波长滤波器实现波长解复用的基本原理。通过理论分析得出了最大衍射效率、最佳写入光强比与耦合强度大小的关系表达式。考虑有效电光系数和空间电荷场随写入光路几何组态的变化关系,以及各信道衍射光波长、衍射角等因素对曝光时序的影响,利用递推法推导出更为精确的曝光时序。采用高亮度溴钨灯代替价格昂贵的大功率可调谐激光器作为波长解复用光源,设计出基于体全息技术的16通道波分解复用器的实验方案。理论分析表明,该器件可将波长相隔0.8nm的谱线分开约1.0mm,这有助于实现密集波长的解复用。 相似文献

In this paper, low-complexity mathematical model has been developed which is used for the calculation of the blocking probability of network and this model does not require any simulation statistics. The implementation of the model proposed has less complexity and the computation used in this model is quite efficient. The routing algorithm has also been proposed in this paper depending upon the proposed model, which is very efficient in calculation and minimization of the blocking probability. This algorithm suggests an optimum path as a solution to routing problem. The wavelength assignment technique has also been suggested in this paper to minimize the blocking probability. The proposed model and algorithms can be implemented on different network topologies. Furthermore, the model, routing algorithm and wavelength assignment technique is also used to evaluate the blocking performance of NSFNet and EUPAN Network topology and hence used to improve its performance on the basis of the blocking probability. 相似文献

A new technique is suggested for multimode fiber bandwidth prediction based on a preform profile. It allows one to calculate the output pulse distortion and allows the bandwidth of a fiber to be drawn dependent on the excitation conditions under which it will operate. It is shown that the accuracy of the bandwidth prediction for 1.5- to 2.5-km fibers is about 10%, the bandwidth being 1–1.5 GHz/km. To achieve this accuracy it is necessary that the excitation conditions and differential mode attenuation be exactly reproduced in the calculation. The profile variations along the length should not be considerable. The prediction technique was adapted to the P101 Preform Analyser (York Technology) and can replace alpha-approximation curve-fitting during routine manufacture of multimode preforms. 相似文献

In this paper, we have investigated the problem of enhancing multiple-fault restorability in the path protected wavelength-routed all-optical WDM networks. The system architecture considered is circuit-switched with dynamic arrival of session requests. We have proposed a mechanism, which is used to combat multiple link failures. A survivable routing and wavelength assignment algorithm has been proposed which is very efficient for the networks having multiple failures. This algorithm deals with the optical networks with multiple faults and is effective for the varying load applied to nodes. We apply liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) in 0.8-$mUm standard complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology to demonstrate a low-cost, high-performance pixelized liquid crystal variable optical attenuator (VOA) with pulse width modulation. We then build a prototype tunable filter by using this VOA along with a grating in the Littrow configuration. With the application of 5-V pulse width modulation, the proposed VOA achieves a 5.6-dB insertion loss, a dynamic range of more than 20 dB, a 50-GHz channel spacing capability, and a polarization-dependent loss (PDL) of less than 0.6 dB at 15-dB attenuation. Our VOA is suitable for applications such as dynamic channel gain equalizers, channel-blocking filters, sub-components of re-configurable add-drop modules, and wavelength selectors. 相似文献
