This paper presents the detailed principle on the generation and detection of optical minimum shift keying (MSK) format for high-speed and high spectral efficiency WDM systems. 10.7 Gb/s optical MSK data is successfully generated by experiment using the proposed scheme. The results show that optical MSK signal exhibits very compact optical spectrum, which is promising for high spectral efficiency WDM applications. Simulation results on dispersion and nonlinear tolerance comparison confirm that MSK signal has better dispersion tolerance and nonlinear tolerance compared with 50% duty cycle return-to-zero differential phase shift keying (RZ-DPSK) and 50% duty cycle RZ on-off-keying (RZ-OOK) formats. 相似文献

Based on the nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) technique and a fiber Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI), a fiber laser which can work in two different modes has been demonstrated. In one mode, it works as a continuous wave (CW) multiwavelength laser, and stable dual-, triple- and tetra-wavelength lasing with the wavelength spacing of 1.1 nm are obtained. In the other mode, it works as a passively mode-locked fiber laser, and the generated pulses have a repetition rate of 10.6 MHz, an FWHM width of 800 ps and the largest energy of 1 nJ. The multi-functional property makes this fiber laser a very convenient, cost effective and multi-purpose laser source. 相似文献

One effective method for suppression of coupling from guided optical modes into cladding modes in an optical fibre Bragg grating is to use cladding mode suppression fibre. In this specially engineered fibre, the grating is written into the core and the inner cladding, both of which are photosensitive. A theory is presented in this paper to analyse the spectral characteristics of this kind of gratings. A fibre Bragg grating was experimentally fabricated with this kind of photosensitive fibre (PS-RMS-50 from StockerYale). It is shown both theoretically and experimentally that such gratings exhibit strong suppression of the coupling between core mode and cladding mode. The impact of fabrication errors on a planar waveguide demultiplexer is analyzed based on an analytical method. The explicit
expression of the transfer function taking into account phase and amplitude errors is presented in order to analyze the loss
and crosstalk of the demultiplexer caused by fabrication errors. A basic requirement for the demultiplexer with a certain
crosstalk criterion can be easily obtained. Using an etched diffraction grating demultiplexer as an example, it is shown that

随着光网络规模的不断扩大以及网络体系结构的扁平化过程加速,网络传输的可靠性和实时性以及生存性路面算法本身面临新的挑战.本文在单点割集的松弛生存性约束条件下,结合动态业务下的IPoverWDM光网络的特点,借助蚁群优化算法的强鲁棒性和记忆能力,通过改变与调整蚁群优化算法结构中的信息素结构与其更新机制,在动态路由选择过程中,引入网络可生存性约束信息改进路由选择概率计算机制,来实现IPoverWDM光网络动态生存性映射的路由策略.与其他同类算法相比,该算法不再存储网络备用路由集和物理拓扑自身庞大的割集关系,在保证网络生存性效果的前提下,通过割集松弛条件有效降低了计算的时间复杂度,提高算法收敛速度,适应网络实时性要求.仿真结果表明:与传统最短路算法比较,该算法能有效提高动态光网络的可生存性映射性能和网络的资源利用效率,并降低业务阻塞率. 相似文献

提出了一种低串扰无损耗的光开关矩阵.该结构是在扩展Benes(DB)结构的基础上通过改进得到的称为改进的扩展Benes(IDB)结构,并通过进一步的改进得到各级改进的扩展Benes(GIDB)结构.理论分析了IDB结构和GIDB结构中串扰产生的机理和对信号的影响,比较了几种结构的信噪比和光交换容量之间的关系.发现随着光交换规模的扩大,GIDB结构相对于DB结构信噪比明显提高.实验研究了4×4的IDB、GIDB结构中串扰引起的误码率降低以及眼图的恶化情况.结果表明GIDB结构能有效减少串扰的影响. 相似文献
