Bayesian Probabilities and the Histories Algebra

We attempt a justification of a generalisation of the consistent histories programme using a notion of probability that is valid for all complete sets of history propositions. This consists of introducing Cox's axioms of probability theory and showing that our candidate notion of probability obeys them. We also give a generalisation of Bayes' theorem and comment upon how Bayesianism should be useful for the quantum gravity/cosmology programmes. PACS: 02.50.Cw;03.65.Ta;04.60.-m.     

Integer quantum Hall effect in graphite

We present Hall effect measurements on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite that indicate the occurrence of the integer quantum-Hall-effect. The evidence is given by the observation of regular plateau-like structures in the field dependence of the transverse conductivity obtained in van der Pauw configuration. Measurements with the Corbino-disk configuration support this result and indicate that the quasi-linear and non-saturating longitudinal magnetoresistance in graphite is governed by the Hall effect in agreement with a recent theoretical model for disordered semiconductors.     

Hamilton-Jacobi theory for Hamiltonian systems with non-canonical symplectic structures

A proposal for the Hamilton-Jacobi theory in the context of the covariant formulation of Hamiltonian systems is done. The current approach consists in applying Dirac’s method to the corresponding action which implies the inclusion of second-class constraints in the formalism which are handled using the procedure of Rothe and Scholtz recently reported. The current method is applied to the non-relativistic two-dimensional isotropic harmonic oscillator employing the various symplectic structures for this dynamical system recently reported.     

Hyperfine characterization of Bi1.9Te0.1SrNb1.9Hf0.1O9

The Aurivillius type oxide Bi_1.9Te_0.1SrNb_1.9Hf_0.1O₉ has been studied by Perturbed Angular Correlations spectroscopy using ¹⁸¹Ta probes. The spin precession curves were measured from room temperature up to 873 K. Two sites are occupied by probes and the temperature dependence of both indicates a continuous phase transition at about 625 K. One site is ordered while the other is disordered. This situation is analyzed in terms of simple models already applied to perovskites. The transition temperature of the solid solution Bi_2−xTe_xSrNb_2−xHf_xO₉ (with 0≤x≤0.5) shows a strong dependence on composition.     

B—模糊集合代数和广义互信息公式

基于两种概率的区分，推导出了一个广义Shannon熵公式和一个广义互信息公式。后者和模糊性有关，并且柯用于语言和感觉中的信息度量。为了由原子语句为真的条件概率求出合语句为真的条件概率，提出了一个遵循存尔运算的模糊集合代数。所谓的模糊信息被还原为概率信息。新的理论在经典理论－概率论，集合论及Shannon信息论－的基础上容易理解。

本文讨论了笔者在[1]中提出的伪凸集,拟凸集的支撑函数与障碍锥的性质,并通过这些性质得出了二个闭性准则。     

Preparation, characterization and photocatalytic activity of polycrystalline Bi2O3/SrTiO3 composite powders

Bi₂O₃/SrTiO₃ composite powders have been prepared and their photocatalytic activities were investigated by photooxidation of methanol. These powders were characterized by UV-Visible diffuse reflectance spectra, SEM and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results revealed that all the Bi₂O₃/SrTiO₃ composite powders exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than pure SrTiO₃, Bi₂O₃ and TiO₂ (P25) under visible light irradiation (λ>440 nm). The effects of the Bi₂O₃ contents on the photocatalytic activities of the composite powders were examined, the photocatalytic activities increased with the content of Bi₂O₃ increasing to a maximum of 83% and then decreased under visible light irradiation. The effects of the calcination temperatures on the photocatalytic activities of the composite powders were also investigated.     

Transport coefficients and defect structure of Sb2−xAgxTe3 single crystals

Incorporation of Ag in the crystal lattice of Sb₂Te₃ creates structural defects that have a strong influence on the transport properties. Single crystals of Sb_2−xAg_xTe₃ (x=0.0; 0.014; 0.018 and 0.022) were characterized by measurements of the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity, Hall coefficient, Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity in the temperature range of 5-300 K. With an increasing content of Ag the electrical resistance, the Hall coefficient and the Seebeck coefficient all decrease. This implies that the incorporation of Ag atoms in the Sb₂Te₃ crystal structure results in an increasing concentration of holes. However, the doping efficiency of Ag appears to be only about 50% of the expected value. We explain this discrepancy by a model based on the interaction of Ag impurity with the native defects in the Sb_2−xAg_xTe₃ crystal lattice. Defects have a particularly strong influence on the thermal conductivity. We analyze the temperature dependence of the lattice thermal conductivity in the context of the Debye model. Of the various phonon scattering contributions, the dominant influence of Ag incorporation in the crystal lattice of Sb₂Te₃ is revealed to be point-defect scattering where both the mass defect and elastic strain play a pivotal role.     

一类新的表面活性剂——长链烷基三苯基鏻——Ⅵ.稳态荧光猝灭法测定十二烷基三苯基溴化鏻胶束的平均簇集数

研究了十二烷基三苯基溴化鏻(C_(12)PBr)胶束中N,N-二甲基苯胺(DMA)和二苯甲酮(DPK)对芘的荧光猝灭,发现DMA的猝灭行为不符合Stern-Volmer动态猝灭和Turro静态猝灭模型;DPK的猝灭行为不符合Stern-Volmer猝灭模型,但遵从Turro静态猝灭模型。根据DPK的静态猝灭性质测得C_(12)PBr胶束的平均簇集数为15士2,并相应地得到C_(12)PBr的临界胶束浓度为(1.77±0.09)×10~(-3)mol/L,后者与文献值一致。
