Polarization modulation in single-frequency He-Ne laser with an anisotropy feedback cavity

The polarization state is modulated by tilting birefringence component placed in the feedback external cavity.The variation of the polarization state in one period of modulation is found to be similar to sine wave.The periods become increasingly smaller.The maximum of variation in one period decreases against the rotated angle.The experimental phenomenon is subjected to the change of optical path and secondary reflection.The phenomenon is analyzed theoretically based on geometrical optics and crystal optics.High-accuracy measurements of absolute and relative angles can be realized based on the experimental phenomenon.The angle resolution is 0.1 arcsec in theory.     

Beam cleanup of a 532-nm pulsed solid-state laser using a bimorph mirror

A successful beam cleanup of a 5-mJ/200-μs pulsed solid-state laser system operating at 532-nm wavelength is demonstrated. In this beam cleanup system, a wave-front sensor-less adaptive optics (AO) system is set up with a 20-element bimorph mirror (BM), a high-voltage amplifier, a charge-coupled device camera, and a control software implementing the stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) algorithm. The brightness of the laser focal spot is improved because the wave-front distortions have been compensated. The performance of this system is presented and the experimental results are analyzed.     

Polarization-locked VCSEL with PM fiber pigtail for quantum communication

Quantum communication is a new technology requiring a stable and reliable laser source for communication security. A new kind of polarization-locked vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) with polarization maintaining (PM) fiber pigtail is fabricated as a decoy state laser source. The VCSEL is packaged in a standard butterfly box integrated with thermoelectric coder (TEC) and thermistor. The optical pulse width of full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) is smaller than 400 ps with a 100-MHz on/off modulation frequency. The results reveal that modulation range is better than 4. Moreover, the polarization is stable, and the power extinction ratio is larger than 25. The center wavelength is 850 nm, and the SMSR is better than 40 dB.     

基于偏振延时干涉的瞬时频率测量系统的分析与优化

提出了一种基于偏振延时干涉的瞬时频率测量(IFM)系统.通过检测两路正交偏振信号的光功率,建立了振幅比较函数(ACF).计算结果表明,ACF仅与待测微波信号频率以及利用保偏光纤(PMF)双折射效应引入的时延差有关,并且调节时延差可实现ACF测量范围及精度的可调谐.仿真结果表明,频率范围为0～25 GHz的IFM系统的绝对误差容限为300 MHz.此外,讨论了激光器波长漂移、射频信号强度、马赫-曾德尔调制器(MZM)的偏置电压漂移、MZM消光比、偏振控制器2(PC2)偏振角漂移对系统测量频率的影响.与同类方法相比,所提方案中采用了PMF和偏振分束一体化结构,在实现频率范围可调的同时,简化了系统结构并降低了成本.     

吉林省西部典型盐渍化土壤偏振反射高光谱特征与模型研究

近年来,吉林省西部盐渍化土壤面积不断扩大,土壤质量退化日趋加剧,不但对该区域的土地资源造成了严重的破坏,而且对农业生产和生态环境构成巨大的威胁。该研究将遥感信息中的偏振信息和高光谱信息相结合,通过对吉林省西部盐渍化土壤光谱特征的获取,选择合适的波段,建立普适模型,并进行科学验证。研究表明,盐渍化土壤的偏振高光谱信息与其理化属性参数具有一定的相关关系,并具有规律性,这对盐渍化土壤表面反射机理研究、盐渍化土壤目标与背景的识别、分类,土壤偏振传感器的研制、偏振光遥感信息的利用以及定量遥感的发展均具有重大理论意义。     

低散射非偏振依赖的聚合物/液晶光栅

了降低聚合物/液晶光栅的散射损失,并消除光栅的偏振依赖性,选取了低官能度的光敏单体作为反应体系,并逐步提高光栅的制备温度。首先选用五官能度的DPHPA （dipentaerythritol hydroxyl pentaacrylate）、双官能度的PDDA（ phthalic diglycol diacrylate）以及单官能度的NVP （N-vinylpyrrolidone）作为反应体系;其次,在制备过程中在光栅的后面放置加热台,逐步提升制备温度。实验结果表明:当制备温度上升到62 ℃以上,光栅有更多（36%）的液晶析出,相分离比常温下制备时要更完全一些,而且高温下制备的光栅其平整度更高,从而使光栅的散射损失比常温下减小了66.7%,器件的SEM图片也进一步证明了这个结论。同时高温制备也消除了液晶光栅的偏振依赖特性。     

多光束泵浦中红外激光器

为了获得高功率高效率3 m～5 m中红外激光输出,利用双声光调Q晶体,通过高重复频率驱动调Q同步技术和LD侧面泵浦双棒串接技术,获得高功率高光束质量1.06 m激光双端输出,外置起偏器获得4束激光输出,利用波片偏振旋光原理,实现4束偏振态一致的激光输出,泵浦非线性晶体PPLT进行频率变换,实现高功率3 m～5 m中红外激光输出。在电源输入电流30 A、调Q驱动频率10 kHz的条件下,获得最高功率10.6 W的3.9 m中红外激光,1.06 m～3.9 m转化效率为9.5%。实验结果表明:通过双声光调Q技术和LD侧面泵浦双棒串接技术,可以实现4束高重复频率窄脉宽1.06 m偏振激光输出,泵浦PPLT可获得高功率3.9 m中红外激光输出。     

Chaotification for switched linear systems with controllers

This paper shows that two or more switched linear systems can generate chaotic dynamical behaviors by an appropriate switching rule as they at least consist of a controllable system and an unstable system with the expanding property. According to the results in the reference （Xie, L. L., Zhou, Y., and Zhao, Y. Criterion of chaos for switched linear systems with antrollers. International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 20（12）, 4105-4109 （2010））, a nonlinear feedback gain is needed to generate chaotic dy- namics. A linear feedback control is usually used to approximate the nonlinear one for simulation. In order to obtain the exact control, as a main result of this paper, the con- troller is constructed by Russell＇s result, and a block diagram is included to interpret the realization of the controller. Numerical simulations are given to illustrate the generated chaotic dynamical behavior of the switched linear systems with some parameters and show the effects of the constructed controller.     

基于垂直观测的植被冠层高光谱偏振反射特性研究

以玉米冠层为研究对象,首先利用偏振反射机理分析了玉米冠层的反射信息中存在偏振现象;随后在抽穗前不同生长时期垂直观测方向对其高光谱偏振信息进行了测量,证明了理论推导,而且发现偏振光在总的反射光中所占的比例可达10%。这即表明了偏振测量可以为对地遥感提供辅助信息,同时也说明利用偏振信息反演大气参数时应该考虑地表偏振对它的影响。
