Cosmic rays of the highest energies

The article describes the study of cosmic rays above 10 19 eV. Following a brief introduction, the reasons for the current interest in this topic are discussed. The methods used to measure the properties of the very rare ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays are explained and the current data described. The data lead to an enigma and the many theories proposed to explain it are summarized. The properties and potential of new detectors are outlined.     

Influences of supercell termination and lateral row number on the determination of slow light properties of photonic crystal waveguides

We systematically analyze the effects of the use of an inaccurate supercell termination and an insufficient supercell size of plane-wave expansion method on the dispersion and the slow light properties of the photonic crystal waveguides. The inattentive use of supercells of photonic crystal waveguides appeared in the literature is found to be yielding errors in the dispersion and slow light characteristics of the fundamental guided mode of photonic crystal waveguides. In addition, extra modes appear in the photonic band gap of the photonic crystal waveguide due to inaccurate supercell termination. By examining the field distribution of the modes, the extra modes can be determined and removed from the band diagram. The dispersion, group index and bandwidth characteristics are observed to be less affecting from inaccurate supercell termination as the number of rows adjacent to the waveguide increases. Moreover, the dispersion and the group index-frequency curves of the fundamental guided mode of correctly terminated supercells are found to be converging as the lateral row number along the line-defect is increased.     

NaB2和Na2B的结构与解析势能函数

使用Gaussian03程序包,采用单双取代耦合簇(CCSD)方法,选择基组6-311+g(2df)、6-311++g(3df,3pd)分别对B2及NaB和Na2分子的基态进行优化计算,运用最小二乘法拟合得到B2、NaB和Na2分子势能函数,给出与实验值符合很好的光谱常数;选择6-31++g（3df,3pd）基组,对NaB2和Na2B分子的结构进行优化计算.在此基础上,采用多体项展式法,得到NaB2和Na2B分子基态解析势能函数.势能面静态特征表明,该势能函数准确再现了NaB2和Na2B分子基态平衡结构.     

周期参数扰动的T混沌系统同宿轨道分析

针对一类周期参数扰动的T混沌系统, 通过变换将系统转化为具有广义Hamilton结构的周期参数扰动的慢变系统, 运用Melnikov方法对系统的同宿轨道进行了分析计算, 并给出了系统的同宿轨道参数分支条件. 同时, 通过数值实验, 对周期参数扰动控制策略及同宿轨道进行了仿真, 验证了文中理论分析的正确性. 关键词： Hamilton系统 Melnikov方法 同宿轨道 周期参数扰动     

一类厄尔尼诺-南方涛动耦合振子动力学模型的震荡近似解

一类非凸粘性平衡律方程的粘性激波解的存在性与稳定性

本文首先利用几何奇异摄动方法，证明了粘性系数充分小时一类非凸粘性平衡律方程的粘性冲击波的存在性，推广了原来在非线性项严格凸的条件下得到的结果．进而，利用谱分析和上下解方法，证明了对固定的小的粘性系数此类波是全局渐近指数稳定的，推广了反应扩散方程中经典的全局稳定性结果．     

QCD Multipole Expansion and Hadronic Transitions in Heavy Quarkonium Systems

We review the developments of the multipole expansion approach in quantum chromodynamics and its applications to hadronic transitions and some radiative decays of heavy quarkonia. Theoretical predictions are compared with updated experimental results.
