《Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science》1994,9(4):382-390Effects of surface roughness on the unsteady cavitating flow around a two-dimensional circular cylinder were experimentally investigated at Reynolds numbers from 1.36 × 105 to 1.78 × 105. Two patterns of surface roughness were investigated, a double-cut pattern and a single-cut pattern. The cavity elongates with an increase of the surface roughness, especially in supercavitating flow. However, for some roughness parameters tested, the cavity length exhibits an extreme decrease. In a particular case of the double-cut pattern, there exists the minimum cavity behind the cylinder. 相似文献

Temperature‐dependent electron spin resonance spectra of main‐chain free radicals, ? CF2(β)? C · F(α)? CF2(β)? , in poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) were analyzed by the change in the hyperfine splitting due to β‐fluorines, which was a decreasing function of the observation temperature. The results were interpreted in terms of the rotational vibration around the Cα? Cβ bond. The amplitude of the vibration was estimated on the assumption of its harmonic oscillation. The vibration of the PTFE chain was found to have a large amplitude in comparison with that of a polyethylene chain in single crystals. The vibration of the large amplitude was caused by a weak interchain interaction in the PTFE matrices. The amplitude of the vibration in crosslinked PTFE was much larger than that in noncrosslinked PTFE. This result indicated that the free radicals in crosslinked PTFE were trapped in the amorphous region, which had the disordered sites of crosslinking, whereas the free radicals in noncrosslinked PTFE were mainly trapped in the paracrystalline region. The decay reaction of the free radicals in the PTFE matrices was also related to the heterogeneity in the structure and the rotational vibration. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Performance of ultra-low frequency passive vertical vibration isolation system with reverse pendulum
A novel long period passive vertical vibration isolator constructed by mounting reverse pendulums on two pairs of torsion
springs is presented. By theoretical analysis and numerical calculation, it is shown that the isolator can achieve much longer
resonant period due to gravitational positive feedback and is smaller in size than the current torsion spring isolators with
the same geometric parameters.

Edge-vibration, and associated resonance phenomena, is
investigated in respect of a semi-infinite strip composed of
pre-stressed incompressible elastic material. The strip is assumed
to have a traction free outer edge, with the upper and lower edges
subject to some simple mixed boundary conditions. The frequency of
the modes of free edge-vibration are shown to depend on the
surface wave speed. Moreover, when the normal pre-stress
approaches one of two critical values, associated with the
vanishing of the surface wave speed, the edge spectrum density of
the boundary value problem increases significantly. This problem
then provides an example for which the famous Weyls hypothesis,
stating the edge spectrum is secondary in comparison with the
whole bodys spectrum, is not true. However, the corresponding
theorems statement is valid only with imposition of the
Shapiro-Lopatinsky condition, which is not satisfied in this case.
Variation of the pre-stress is also shown to greatly influence the
resonance frequency arising in the forced vibration problem, to
the extent that the phenomenon of resonance may be totally

Applying different mechanical vibrations, 2–3 Hz frequency, to stimulate the gerbera jamesonii acrocarpous callus, we found that it increases the growth rate and the content of soluble protein but decreases the fluidity of cell membranes. When the frequency was greater than 4 Hz, the effect was contrary to that of 2–3 Hz. The principles and methods of constructing a model of vibrational convection in a medium consisting of a liquid (gas) and a solid admixture are discussed. A closed system of averaged equations is first obtained. The system admits passage to the limits of the equations of both vibrational convection in a homogeneous fluid and convection in a dusty medium in the static case. As a measure of the difference with respect to the homogeneous fluid, in addition to the sedimentation parameter, which also manifests itself in the absence of vibrational accelerations, it is possible to take the inhomogeneity parameter introduced in this study and responsible for the pulsatory transport of the average fields. The problem of the stability of plane parallel flow in a vertical layer of a two-phase medium under horizontal longitudinal vibration with respect to infinitesimal perturbations is considered. It is shown that the introduction of particles into the flow leads to qualitatively novel effects which cannot be predicted within the framework of the homogeneous fluid model. 相似文献
