The lowest critical state of slender systems representing long suspension bridges can be investigated using two degree of freedom linear models. Initially, the neutral model with aero-elastic forces treated as constants can be used and such approach works well on the theoretical level. However, because time dependency is neglected, it is naturally limited to the very close neighbourhood of the bifurcation point. Thus, an approach using aero-elastic coefficients known as flutter derivatives was introduced in the past. The present paper combines these models together on one common basis and establishes linkage to avoid the time–frequency duality. The stability limits are analysed by means of the generalized Routh–Hurwitz approach and Liénard theorems. Some examples of bridge stability analyses are provided using experimentally ascertained or literature based data.  相似文献

In this paper, a concise but effective interface circuit for transforming a memristor into meminductive and memcapacitive systems is designed. This newly proposed interface circuit, constructed by only two current conveyors, is equipped with three available ports, which can provide six connecting combinations in terms of one resistor, one capacitor, and one memristor. For the sake of confirming the design effectiveness, theoretical and simulation discussions are hence introduced and all the experimental waveforms provide conclusive evidence to validate the correctness of these new mutators. The most attractive features of this new interface circuit are the floating terminals and convenient practical implementation.  相似文献

In the previously established nonlocal continuum-based models, small characteristic length was commonly incorporated into the mass matrix and the driving force vector which is a bit in contradiction with our sense regarding these factors. Herein, a nonlocal-integro-differential version of the constitutive relations is employed for the bulk and the surface layer of the nanorod. By adopting Hamilton's principle, integro-partial differential equations of motion of elastically supported nanorods are established accounting for both nonlocality and surface energy effects. Then, these are solved by an efficient meshless methodology. For fixed–fixed and fixed–free nanorods, modal analysis of the problem is also performed and the explicit expressions of the mass and stiffness matrices are derived. For these special cases, the obtained results by the meshless technique are successfully verified with those of the modal solution. In the newly developed numerical model, the small-scale parameter is only incorporated into the stiffness matrix which gives us a more realistic sense about the nonlocality effect. Subsequently, the roles of the surface energy, small-scale parameter, elastic supports, and kernel function on natural frequencies of the nanostructure are discussed and explained. This work can be considered as a pivotal step towards a more reasonable nonlocal modeling of vibration of nanoscale structures.  相似文献

A system of N weakly interacting particles whose dynamics is given in terms of jump-diffusions with a common factor is considered. The common factor is described through another jump-diffusion and the coefficients of the evolution equation for each particle depend, in addition to its own state value, on the empirical measure of the states of the N particles and the common factor. A Central Limit Theorem, as N → ∞, is established. The limit law is described in terms of a certain Gaussian mixture. An application to models in mathematical finance of self-excited correlated defaults is described.  相似文献

In this study, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), polyindole (PIN), and PVC/PIN conducting composites having five different compositions were used. Particle sizes, densities, dielectric constants, and sedimentation ratios of the materials were determined. The zeta‐potentials of the samples were measured in aqueous and nonaqueous (silicone oil [SO]) media. The dispersions prepared in SO were subjected to external electric field strength, and their electrorheological properties were investigated. Then the effects of dispersed particle volume fraction, shear rate, external electric field strength, frequency, and temperature onto electrorheological activities of the dispersions were examined. Further, creep and creep‐recovery tests were applied to the PIN/SO and PVC/PIN/SO dispersions, and reversible viscoelastic deformations were observed. Finally, the vibration damping capacity of PVC (66%)/PIN (34%)/SO dispersion system was tested by using an automobile shock absorber. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The present study is concerned with the free vibration analysis of a horizontal rectangular plate, either immersed in fluid or floating on its free surface. The governing equations for a moderately thick rectangular plate are analytically derived based on the Mindlin plate theory (MPT), whereas the velocity potential function and Bernoulli’s equation are employed to obtain the fluid pressure applied on the free surface of the plate. The simplifying hypothesis that the wet and dry mode shapes are the same, is not assumed in this paper. In this work, an exact-closed form characteristics equation is used for the plate subjected to a combination of six different boundary conditions. Two opposite sides are simply supported and any of the other two edges can be free, simply supported or clamped. To demonstrate the accuracy of the present analytical solution, a comparison is made with the published experimental and numerical results in the literature, showing an excellent agreement. Then, natural frequencies of the plate are presented in tabular and graphical forms for different fluid levels, fluid densities, aspect ratios, thickness to length ratios and boundary conditions. Finally, some 3-D mode shapes of the rectangular Mindlin plates in contact with fluid are illustrated.  相似文献
