A free-vibration experiment was conducted to examine flow-induced vibration (FIV) characteristics of two identical circular cylinders in side-by-side arrangements at spacing ratio T⁎ (=T/D)=0.1–3.2, covering all possible flow regimes, where T is the gap spacing between the cylinders and D is the cylinder diameter. Each of the cylinders was two-dimensional, spring mounted, and allowed to vibrate independently in the cross-flow direction. Furthermore, an attempt to suppress flow-induced vibrations was undertaken by attaching flexible sheets at the rear stagnation lines of the cylinders. Based on the vibration responses of the two cylinders, four vibration patterns I, II, III and IV are identified at 0.1≤T⁎<0.2, 0.2≤T⁎≤0.9, 0.9<T⁎<2.1 and 2.1≤T⁎≤3.2, respectively. Pattern I is characterized by the two cylinders vibrating inphase, with the maximum amplitudes occurring at the same reduced velocity Ur=10.47 almost two times that (Ur=5.25) for an isolated cylinder. Pattern II features no vibration generated for either cylinder. Pattern III exemplifies the occurrence of the maximum vibration amplitude of a cylinder at a smaller Ur and that of the other cylinder at a higher Ur compared to its counterpart in an isolated cylinder. Pattern IV represents each cylinder response resembling an isolated cylinder response; the vibrations of the two cylinders are, however, coupled inphase or antiphase. Linking maximum vibration amplitudes to fluctuating lift forces acting on fixed cylinders reveals that fluid–structure interactions between two fixed cylinders and between two elastic cylinders are not the same, even though vibration is not significant. As such, while two fixed cylinders generate narrow and wide wakes at 0.2≤T⁎<1.7, two elastic cylinders do the same for a longer range of T⁎ (0.2≤T⁎<2.1). The flexible sheets effectively suppress FIV of the two cylinders in patterns III and IV, and reduce the vibration amplitude in pattern I. An approach combining the method of moment equations and the statistical linearization technique is proposed for analysis of the response of non-linear mechanical systems to random excitation. The adaptive statistical linearization procedure is developed for obtaining a more accurate mean square of responses. For these, a Duffing oscillator and an oscillator with cubic non-linear damping subject to white noise excitation are considered. 针对法兰对接和径向套接两种典型舱段螺栓连接形式,基于有限元静刚度计算、动力学简化建模、冲击响应特性分析及结构冲击试验,系统研究了两种连接形式的轴向刚度特性及其对动力学冲击响应的影响.有限元静刚度分析揭示了法兰对接与径向套接的轴向拉压刚度分别是非对称的和对称的,而法兰对接的平均刚度更大.之后,为两种连接形式建立了统一的动力学模型,证明非对称的轴向拉压刚度导致结构在受到横向载荷作用时会产生附加的耦合轴向振动,并且利用高精度幂函数拟合刚度跳变,得到耦合轴向振动频率是弯曲振动频率的二倍的结论.最后,通过冲击动力学试验证明了法兰对接存在二倍频的耦合轴向振动,而径向套接则不存在该耦合振动.径向套接虽然一阶频率较低,但阻尼效果更好. 相似文献

In this study, the effects of small-scale of the both nanoflow and nanostructure on the vibrational response of fluid flowing single-walled carbon nanotubes are investigated. To this purpose, two various flowing fluids, the air-nano-flow and the water nano-flow using Knudsen number, and two different continuum theories, the nonlocal theory and the strain-inertia gradient theory are studied. Nano-rod model is used to model the fluid-structure interaction, and Galerkin method of weighted residual is utilizing to solve and discretize the governing obtained equations. It is found that the critical flow velocity decreases as the wave number increases, excluding the first mode divergence that it has the least value among of the other instabilities if the strain-inertia gradient theory is employed. Moreover, it is observed that Kn effect has considerable impact on the reduction of critical velocities especially for the air-flow flowing through the CNT. In addition, by increasing a nonlocal parameter and Knudsen number the critical flow velocity decreases but it increases as the characteristic length related to the strain-inertia gradient theory increases. 相似文献

Different types of actuating and sensing mechanisms are used in new micro and nanoscale devices. Therefore, a new challenge is modeling electromechanical systems that use these mechanisms. In this paper, free vibration of a magnetoelectroelastic (MEE) microbeam is investigated in order to obtain its natural frequencies and buckling loads. The beam is simply supported at both ends. External electric and magnetic potentials are applied to the beam. By using the Hamilton's principle, the governing equations and boundary conditions are derived based on the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory. The equations are solved, analytically to obtain the natural frequencies of the MEE microbeam. Furthermore, the effects of external electric and magnetic potentials on the buckling of the beam are analyzed and the critical values of the potentials are obtained. Finally, a numerical study is conducted. It is found that the natural frequency can be tuned directly by changing the magnetic and electric potentials. Additionally, a closed form solution for the normalized natural frequency is derived, and buckling loads are calculated in a numerical example. 相似文献

We apply the strong-field Lewenstein model to demonstrate the high-order harmonic generation of CO_2 with three vibrational modes(balance vibration,bending vibration,and stretching vibration) driven by an intense laser field.The results show that the intensity of harmonic spectra is sensitive to molecular vibrational modes,and the high harmonic efficiency with stretching vibrational mode is the strongest.The underlying physical mechanism of the harmonic emission can be well explained by the corresponding ionization yield and the time-frequency analysis.Finally,we demonstrate the attosecond pulse generation with different vibrational modes and an isolated attosecond pulse with a duration of about 112 as is generated. 相似文献
