Polystyrene particles of 9 μm diameter were acoustically concentrated along the axis of a water-filled cylindrical waveguide containing a 3 MHz standing wave field. Modulation of the acoustic field enabled transport of the concentrated particles in the axial direction. Four modulations were investigated; 1, a fixed frequency difference introduced between two transducers; 2, ramping the transducer frequency; 3, tone burst, i.e. sound that is pulsed on and off, allowing intermittent sedimentation under gravity; and 4, switching the sound off to allow continuous sedimentation. The most efficient transport (leaving the fewest particles in suspension) of clumps to one end of the container was achieved with method 1 above. In this system the maximum speed of transport of the axial clumps was 24 mm s-1. A theory developed here for the transport of particles in a pseudo (i.e. slowly moving) standing wave field predicts an upper limit, which increases with particle size, for the speed of an entrained body. For a single 9 μm diameter particle in a field with a spatial peak pressure amplitude of 0.4 MPa this speed would be 0.5 mm s-1. The higher experimental speeds observed here emphasize the value of acoustically concentrating particles into relatively large clumps prior to initiating transport.  相似文献

The possibility of 5He cluster emission has been affirmed theoretically. In order to describe the emission probability of 5He cluster, the pre-formation probability of 5He cluster in pre-equilibrium emission process is needed to be established. In terms of Iwamoto-Harada model, the theoretical formula of pre-formation probability of 5He cluster including 1p shell nucleon in pre-equilibrium mechanism has been established and calculated. In the case of low incident energies, the configuration of [1, m] for 5He cluster is the dominant part in the nuclear reaction. The calculated results indicate that pre-formation probability of configuration [1, m] for the unstable 5He cluster is much smaller than those of d, t, 3He, and 4He, i.e. the light stable composite particles, which are consisted of only 1s shell nucleons. However, it is propitious to the emission of 5He from the point of view on threshold energies, since the binding energies of 5He are generally lower than that of 3He in compound nucleus. The corresponding model formula has been given in this paper for described pre-formation probability of 5He cluster in pre-equilibrium mechanism.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Fe–Co nanoparticles synthesized by chemical vapor condensation (CVC) process were investigated. Effect of CVC processing variables on the magnetic properties was analyzed in detail, using Mössbauer spectroscopy, XRD, BET and HRTEM. The synthesized particles were nearly spherical, and their surfaces were identified to be -FeOOH, γ-FeOOH and Fe3O4, but not -Fe2O3. The magnetic properties were strongly influenced by CVC processing parameters. The increase of cobalt content had changed the magnetic property of the sample. However, when the decomposition temperature and the oxygen content in the carrier gas (Ar) were increased, the magnetic property reduced with decreasing the average particle size. Increasing the vacuum pressure in the chamber resulted in that the magnetic field reinforced with the increase of average particle size.  相似文献

The flow patterns and wall stresses in a two‐dimensional louvered moving granular filter bed of quartz sand were investigated. The flow pattern histories of granular solids in the filter bed were recorded using a digital camcorder and a pressure gauge for simultaneously measuring the normal stresses as well as shear stresses of the granular solids. The static wall stress distributions produced by the granular solids were measured, and agreed with a theoretical prediction formed using the differential slice and Runge‐Kutta (order four) methods. The variations in the dynamic wall stresses with time in a moving granular filter bed were obtained and the effect of the louver angle upon the flow patterns and wall stresses was also investigated. Employing the results obtained by stress measurements and image processing, the wall pressure pulsation phenomena in a moving granular filter bed may be further understood. The results reported here provide fundamental information for the design of moving granular filter beds to act as high‐temperature flue gas cleanup filters.  相似文献

The neutral particle recycling models that have been used to date in numerical plasma confinement simulations are by no means equivalent but may lead, instead, to divergent results. As a consequence of this confinement studies based on individual neutral assumptions must be received with a healthy degree of scepticism. We go on to compare experimental observations of the time development of plasma density, temperature, and neutral pressure made in an electrostatic surface trap with numerical plasma simulations incorporating a number of alternative neutral models.  相似文献

The yield and energy distribution of long-range alpha-particles (lra) emitted from neutron-induced fission of235U have been measured at neutron energies; thermal, 125±12, 155±11, 185±10, 210±9, 240±9, 365±50 and 480±45 keV. The long-range alpha-particles were detected in cellulose nitrate track detector foils. Results showed an increase of about 50% in the yield at neutron energies in the region 150 keV≤E n≤220 keV as compared to that of thermal neutrons. A calculation has been carried out to extract thelra to binary fission ratio forp-wave neutron induced fission.  相似文献

A theoretical study is made on the generation mechanism of Langmuir mode wave in the presence of kinetic Alfvén wave turbulence in a magnetized plasma on the basis of plasma-maser interaction. It is shown that a test high frequency Langmuir mode wave is unstable in the presence of low frequency kinetic Alfvén wave turbulence. The growth of the Langmuir wave occurs due to direct and polarization coupling terms. Because of the universal existence of the kinetic Alfvén waves in large scale plasmas, the results have potential importance in space and astrophysical radiation processes.  相似文献

In many applications materials are modeled by a large number of particles (or atoms) where any one of particles interacts with all others. Near or nearest neighbor interaction is expected to be a good simplification of the full interaction in the engineering community. In this paper we shall analyze the approximate error between the solution of the simplified problem and that of the full-interaction problem so as to answer the question mathematically for a one-dimensional model. A few numerical methods have been designed in the engineering literature for the simplified model. Recently much attention has been paid to a finite-element-like quasicontinuum (QC) method which utilizes a mixed atomistic/continuum approximation model. No numerical analysis has been done yet. In the paper we shall estimate the error of the QC method for this one-dimensional model. Possible ill-posedness of the method and its modification are discussed as well.

采用自编写的图像处理程序把中国地图处理成为边界点阵图,并根据点阵图每点的坐标位置,利用中国第1台单粒子束精确定位照射装置提供的单质子束在CR-39膜上几百μm×几百μm的范围内辐照并刻蚀出中国地图边界. 研究表明,该单粒子束精确定位照射装置计数准确(98%),定位精确(平均误差小于3 μm),辐照路径算法选择合理(近邻法),预测值和实测值吻合程度高,可以满足刻蚀CR-39膜微图像和生物细胞辐照实验的要求.  相似文献

Equations are written for the velocities of rotation and translation of rigid rod-like particles suspended in arbitrary Stokes flows. These make use of the first approximation from slender body theory for the evaluation of drag forces parallel and transverse to the particle axis, and neglect couples induced by shear stress at the particle surface. They are therefore asymptotically valid as the particle axis ratio becomes large. Simple forms of the equations, applying in constant viscosity flows, are solved, where possible analytically and otherwise numerically, and results obtained for particle motion in planar Poiseuille and sink flows. These are discussed and displayed in terms of appropriate dimensionless groups in a comprehensive set of plots, that can conveniently be used to provide information on translational and rotational velocities, and orientation and displacement as a function of time, including particle slip along and across streamlines, for a wide range of cases. In this way the effects of non-homogeneity in the flow fields are quantified.  相似文献
