Abstract

The ET(30) scale of solvent polarity has been shown to be useful in examining many diverse analytical processes. It is based on the charge transfer absorption of 2,6-diphenyl-4-(2,4,6-triphenyl-N-pyridinio)phenolate (referred to as ET-30 in this paper). Unfortunately, use of the ET(30) scale has been hindered by (a) the lack of a commercial source of the ET-30 dye and (b) the lack of an English language synthetic procedure. Here we discuss recent applications of the ET(30) scale to analytical techniques, as well as a simplified procedure for the synthesis of ET-30.  相似文献

We have applied the technique of Photo Thermal Ionization Spectroscopy (PTIS) to the study of an erbium-doped p-Ge epitaxial layer, grown by MBE on an undoped n-type germanium substrate. The Er-doped Ge layer shows continuum photoconductivity response in the far-infrared region extending from 70 cm–1 to 900 cm–1. This type of epitaxial Er-doped Ge layers is a potentially attractive system for photoconductivity detectors of far-infrared radiation. Below 900 cm–1 three acceptor-like charged states can be distinguished with ionization energies of 9, 26.6 and 50 meV. Additionally, a study of the photoconductive response of the same sample for radiation from 1000 cm–1 to 10000 cm–1, i.e., for radiation energies well inside the forbidden gap to energies above it, shows a wealth of levels, some of which have previously been associated with erbium.On leave from: Instituto de Física, Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Puebla, México  相似文献

运用密度泛函理论和非平衡格林函数结合的方法,研究电极区N掺杂对扶手椅型石墨烯纳米带电子输运特性的影响.结果表明,与本征扶手椅型石墨烯纳米带电流-电压曲线相比,宽度为7的石墨烯纳米带电流-电压曲线表现出明显的不对称性,其中心N掺杂表现强烈的整流特性,整流系数达到102数量级,且将N原子从电极区中心位置移动到边缘,整流特性减弱.研究结果表明宽度为7的扶手椅型石墨烯纳米带出现强整流现象的原因主要是负向偏压下能量窗内没有透射峰引起的,该研究结果对将来石墨烯整流器件的设计具有重要的意义.  相似文献

Since its zero grade part H0 is the C*-inductive limit of B(Hr), we look for some family of representations on an inductive limit of Hr as r. When such construction is shaped according to the structure of H0, von Neumanns notion of a reference sequence of unit vectors for Hilbert infinite tensor products emerges; after a further Rieffel induction step, a class IPR[H] of representations of H arises. For any two such representations, we describe explicitly their associated intertwiners. Any two representations in IPR[H] are either disjoint or unitarily equivalent. Half-life of41Ca     
The half-life of41Ca has been redetermined to be (1.01 ±0.10)×105 yr from the specific activity of a sample of enriched calcium material and its41Ca concentration. The activity was measured with a Si(Li) detector via the 3.3-keV X rays emitted in the electron capture decay of41Ca to41K. The41Ca concentration was measured by mass spectrometry. Since our result agrees well with the two most recent half-life measurements of Mabuchi et al. (1974), (1.13±0.12)×105 yr, and Klein et al. (1990), (1.03±0.07)×105 yr, we recommend the weighted mean of these three measurements, t1/2=(1.04±0.05)×105 yr, as the most accurate value of the half-life of41Ca.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. P. The (1 1 1) face is the cleavage surface of diamond. Understanding its properties is very important for the growing technological interest on the chemistry of diamond surfaces. Within DFT the most stable reconstruction is the Pandey chain model, the atoms on the chain being neither buckled nor dimerised. However this geometry gives rise to a semi metallic band structure in contrast with experimental findings that show the presence of a gap ranging from 0.5 to 2 eV. Here we show that the same equilibrium geometry and thus the same metallic band structure is found relaxing the surface using screened exchange (sX) or Hartree-Fock (HF) functionals. We will discuss in detail how breaking the equivalence of the atoms on the chain affects the band structure and we will show that a buckling would yield a semiconducting surface, but is energetically unfavorable. A semiconducting character can be restored, within the equilibrium geometry, if quasiparticle corrections are carefully included within an iterative GW scheme. The result of the theoretical reflectance anisotropy spectra (RAS) at a DFT-RPA level are also presented and discussed. As expected, a strong anisotropy signal is found at low energies due to transitions between surface states inside the fundamental gap.  相似文献

When sources are added at their right-hand sides, and g(ik) is a priori assumed to be the metric, the equations of Einstein’s Hermitian theory of relativity were shown to allow for an exact solution that describes the general electrostatic field of n point charges. Moreover, the injunction of spherical symmetry of g(ik) in the infinitesimal neighbourhood of each of the charges was proved to yield the equilibrium conditions of the n charges in keeping with ordinary electrostatics. The tensor g(ik), however, cannot be the metric of the theory, since it enters neither the eikonal equation nor the equation of motion of uncharged test particles. A physically correct metric that rules both the behaviour of wave fronts and of uncharged matter is the one indicated by Hély.In the present paper it is shown how the electrostatic solution predicts the structure of the n charged particles and their mutual positions of electrostatic equilibrium when Hély’s physically correct metric is adopted.  相似文献
