It is known that there are only finitely many imaginary abelian number fields with class numbers equal to their genus class numbers. Here, we determine all the imaginary cyclic fields of -power degrees with class numbers equal to their genus class numbers.
A theoretical study of the one- and two-photon spontaneous emission rates from the 2s1/2 state of one-electron ions is presented. High-precision values of the relativistic emission rates for ions with nuclear charge
Z up to 100 are obtained through the use of finite basis sets for the Dirac equation constructed from B-splines. Furthermore,
we analyze the influence of the inclusion of quantum electrodynamics corrections in the initial and final state energies.

For a simple multivariate regression model, nonparametric estimation of the (vector of) intercept following a preliminary test on the regression vector is considered. Along with the asymptotic distribution of these estimators, their asymptotic bias and dispersion matrices are studied and allied efficiency results are presented. 相似文献
** Email: giorgio.vittadini{at}unimib.it*** Email: simona.minotti{at}unicatt.it In this paper we propose a methodology for measuring the relativeeffectiveness of healthcare services (i.e. the effectof hospital care on patients) under general conditions, in which:) a healthcare outcome underlies qualitative and quantitativeobservable indicators; ß) we are interested in studyingthe simultaneous dependency of multiple outcomes on covariates(where the outcomes can also be correlated to each other); )the relative effectiveness is adjusted for hospital-specificcovariates; ) we hypothesise a general distribution for randomdisturbances and the random parameters of relative effectiveness. For this topic, a generalisation of the SURE (seemingly unrelatedregression equations) multilevel model is proposed. The solutionsare obtained by means of Bayesian inference methods. Since thereis currently no software available to estimate this model, anSAS procedure based on Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods hasbeen developed by the authors, in line with Goldstein &Spiegelhalter (1996, J. R. Stat. Soc. Ser. A, 159, 385443),Spiegelhalter et al. (1996, Bayesian Using Gibbs Sampling Manual.Cambridge: MRC Biostatistic Unit, Institute of Public Health)and Albert & Chib (1997, J. Am. Stat. Assoc., 92, 916925).In addition, a new theoretical result regarding the joint posteriordistribution for the parameters is provided. The model proposedhas been implemented for an effectiveness study of a selectionof Lombard hospitals. 相似文献
There are aspects of privacy theory that are analogous to quantum theory. In particular one can define distillable key and
key cost in parallel to distillable entanglement and entanglement cost. We present here classical privacy theory as a particular
case of information theory with adversaries, where similar general laws hold as in entanglement theory. We place the result
of Renner and Wolf—that intrinsic information is lower bound for key cost—into this general formalism. Then we show that the
question of whether intrinsic information is equal to key cost is equivalent to the question of whether Alice and Bob can
create a distribution product with Eve using IM bits of secret key. We also propose a natural analogue of relative entropy of entanglement in privacy theory and show that
it is equal to the intrinsic information. We also provide a formula analogous to the entanglement of formation for classical
distributions.
It is our pleasure to dedicate this paper to Asher Peres on the occasion of his seventieth birthday. 相似文献
We study the pure point spectrum of the energy operator H(P) of a many-particle charged quantum system in a homogeneous magnetic field based on the results in our previous work under fixation of the sum P of the pseudomomentum components of the system. We prove that the discrete spectrum H(P) of a short-range system is infinite under some conditions (which, for example, hold for a system of two oppositely charged particles) even in the case of a finitely supported potential. For a long-range system of the type of a (+)-ion of an atom (including the ion), the discrete spectrum is infinite. 相似文献
Let be a given set of positive rational primes. Assume that the value of the Dedekind zeta function of a number field is less than or equal to zero at some real point in the range . We give explicit lower bounds on the residue at of this Dedekind zeta function which depend on , the absolute value of the discriminant of and the behavior in of the rational primes . Now, let be a real abelian number field and let be any real zero of the zeta function of . We give an upper bound on the residue at of which depends on , and the behavior in of the rational primes . By combining these two results, we obtain lower bounds for the relative class numbers of some normal CM-fields which depend on the behavior in of the rational primes . We will then show that these new lower bounds for relative class numbers are of paramount importance for solving, for example, the exponent-two class group problem for the non-normal quartic CM-fields. Finally, we will prove Brauer-Siegel-like results about the asymptotic behavior of relative class numbers of CM-fields.
In this paper, we enumerate all number fields of degree of discriminant smaller than in absolute value containing a quintic field having one real place. For each one of the (resp. found fields of signature (resp. the field discriminant, the quintic field discriminant, a polynomial defining the relative quadratic extension, the corresponding relative discriminant, the corresponding polynomial over , and the Galois group of the Galois closure are given.
In a supplementary section, we give the first coincidence of discriminant of (resp. nonisomorphic fields of signature (resp. .
In this work, we establish lists for each signature of tenth degree number fields containing a totally real quintic subfield and of discriminant less than in absolute value. For each field in the list we give its discriminant, the discriminant of its subfield, a relative polynomial generating the field over one of its subfields, the corresponding polynomial over , and the Galois group of its Galois closure.
We have examined the existence of several non-isomorphic fields with the same discriminants, and also the existence of unramified extensions and cyclic extensions.
We present a (320, 88, 24)-difference set in
, the existence of which was previously open. This new difference set improves a theorem of Davis-Jedwab with the removal of the exceptional case. It also enables us to state a theorem of Schmidt on Davis-Jedwab difference sets more neatly. 相似文献
