Cellular polymers can be internally charged by "microstorms" (silent or partial discharges) within the voids of the polymer foam. The resulting material, which carries positive and negative charges on the internal void surfaces, is called a ferroelectret. Ferroelectrets behave like typical ferroelectrics, hence they provide a novel class of ferroic materials. The soft foams are strongly piezoelectric and can be used, in a wide range of applications, as transducers for interconverting mechanical and electrical signals. Herein, an overview is provided on the preparation of cellular polymers by physical foaming (extrusion, biaxial stretching, and controlled inflation by pressure treatments), on their charging by "microstorms", on their piezo- and pyroelectricity, and on analogies to ferroelectrics. Finally, a survey of selected applications is presented.  相似文献

Summary The affinity of peroxidase and the fungal proteins to vanillin attached to controlled porous glasses depends on the porosity of the glass and additional thermal treatment of the support. The additional thermal treatment of controlled porous glasses leads to an enrichment in boron atoms of their surface.The results presented in this paper show a better resolution of the analyzed substances when glass with a surface enriched in boron was used as the support for vanillin.  相似文献

An adaptation of the fast sol-gel method to the synthesis of xerogel monoliths using tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) as the alkoxide precursor is described in this paper. The procedure involves running the reaction at 70–80°C in an open vessel, which accelerates hydrolysis and condensation and reduces the amount of liquid by expelling excess methanol through outdistillation. This procedure yields crack-free monoliths. The porosity and microstructure of these xerogel monoliths were studied by using N2 adsorption and desorption and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The SEM data show that the solid skeletal phase has a globular morphology with particles, 20–40 nm in diameter, arranged into agglomerates a few hundred nm in diameter. The microstructure of the acid-catalyzed xerogel is a consolidation of these agglomerates. The isotherm data show these xerogels to be microporous. In contrast, the base-catalyzed xerogel has a hierarchical morphology with the clusters of agglomerates organized into larger clusters approaching 1 m in diameter. An analysis of the isotherm data shows these xerogels to be less microporous with a narrow distribution of mesopores having an average diameter of 50 Å.  相似文献

毛细多孔芯的结构参数对环路热管(LHP)主芯中的流动和传热有着重要影响.通过发展一个综合考虑了热传导、对流和蒸发多种传热效应的模型,以及利用数值模拟易于独立改变参数的特点,研究了孔隙率和渗透率这对参数组合对LHP主芯内部流场和性能的影响.模拟结果在一定范围内是合理的,且对于LHP实验研究和工程应用具有一定的参考意义.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional shallow water models with porosity appear as an interesting path for the large‐scale modelling of floodplains with urbanized areas. The porosity accounts for the reduction in storage and in the exchange sections due to the presence of buildings and other structures in the floodplain. The introduction of a porosity into the two‐dimensional shallow water equations leads to modified expressions for the fluxes and source terms. An extra source term appears in the momentum equation. This paper presents a discretization of the modified fluxes using a modified HLL Riemann solver on unstructured grids. The source term arising from the gradients in the topography and in the porosity is treated in an upwind fashion so as to enhance the stability of the solution. The Riemann solver is tested against new analytical solutions with variable porosity. A new formulation is proposed for the macroscopic head loss in urban areas. An application example is presented, where the large scale model with porosity is compared to a refined flow model containing obstacles that represent a schematic urban area. The quality of the results illustrates the potential usefulness of porosity‐based shallow water models for large scale floodplain simulations. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Scaffolds suitable for tissue engineering applications were prepared by Thermally Induced Phase Separation (TIPS) starting from a ternary solution PLLA/dioxane/water. The experimental protocol consisted of three consecutive steps, a first quench from the homogeneous solution to an appropriate demixing temperature (within the binodal region), a liquid-liquid demixing stage for a given time and a final quench from the demixing temperature to a low temperature (within the spinodal region). A large variety of morphologies, in terms of average pore size and interconnection were obtained upon modifying the demixing time and temperature, owing to the interplay of nucleation and growth processes during the residence in the metastable state. An interesting combination of micro and macro-porosity was observed for longer demixing times (above 30 min at 35 °C).  相似文献

The theory of long-term damage of homogeneous materials, which is based on the equations of the mechanics of stochastically inhomogeneous materials, is generalized to discrete-fiber-reinforced composite materials. The microdamage of the composite components is modeled by randomly dispersed micropores. The failure criterion for a microvolume is characterized by its stress-rupture strength. It is determined by the dependence of the time to brittle failure on the difference between the equivalent stress and its limit. Given macrostresses and macrostrains, an equation of damage (porosity) balance in the composite components at an arbitrary time is formulated.
