Predictions and experimental studies of the tail pipe noise of an automotive muffler using a one dimensional CFD model 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The tail pipe noise from a commercial automotive muffler was studied experimentally and numerically under the condition of wide open throttle acceleration in the present research. The engine was accelerated from 1000 to 6000 rpm in 30 s at the warm up condition. The transient acoustic characteristics of its exhaust muffler were predicted using one dimensional computational fluid dynamics. To validate the results of the simulation, the transient acoustic characteristics of the exhaust muffler were measured in an anechoic chamber according to the Japanese Standard (JIS D 1616). It was found that the results of simulation are in good agreement with experimental results at the 2nd order of the engine rotational frequency. At the high order of engine speed, differences between the computational and experimental results exist in the high revolution range (from 5000 to 6000 rpm at the 4th order, and from 4200 to 6000 rpm at the 6th order). According to these results, the differences were caused by the flow noise which was not considered in the simulation. Based on the theory of one dimensional CFD model, a simplified model which can provide an acceptable accuracy and save more than 90% of execution time compared with the standard model was proposed for the optimization design to meet the demand of time to market. 相似文献

The influence of Reynolds number and blockage ratio on the vortex dynamics of a trapezoidal bluff body placed inside a circular pipe is studied experimentally and numerically. Low aspect ratio, high blockage ratio, curved end conditions (junction of pipe and bluff body), axisymmetric upstream flow with shear and turbulence are some of the intrinsic features of this class of bluff body flows which have been scarcely addressed in the literature. A large range (200:200,000) of Reynolds number (ReD) is covered in this study, encompassing all the three pipe flow regimes (laminar, transition and turbulent). Four different flow regimes are defined based on the distinct features of Strouhal number (St)–ReD relation: steady, laminar irregular, transition and turbulent. The wake in the steady regime is stationary with no oscillations in the shear layer. The laminar regime is termed as irregular owing to irregular vortex shedding. The vortex shedding in this regime is observed to be symmetric. The emergence of separation bubble downstream of the bluff body on either side is another interesting feature of this regime, which is further observed to be symmetric. Two pairs of mean streamwise vortices are noticed in the near-wake regime, which are termed as reverse dipole-type wake topology. Beyond the irregular laminar regime, the Strouhal number falls gradually and vortex shedding becomes more periodic. This regime is named transition and occurs close to the Reynolds number at which transition to turbulence takes place in a fully developed pipe. The turbulent regime is characterised by a nearly constant Strouhal number. Typical Karman-type vortex shedding is noticed in this regime. The convection velocity, wake width formation length and irrecoverable pressure loss are quantified to highlight the influence of blockage ratio. These results will be useful to develop basic understanding of vortex dynamics of confined bluff body flow for several practical applications. 相似文献

In order to control low frequency noise in exhaust pipe, this paper puts forward a new concept of H-Q tube based semi-active muffler device. The semi-active muffler device and bench testing system have been designed and operated. Finite element simulation study on semi-active muffler and experimental study on semi-active muffler and passive muffler have been carried on. The effect of simulation and experiment are consistent. The semi-active muffler device acts well in low frequency band, especially between 50 Hz and 150 Hz. The average level of noise reduction is around 35 dB, which is much better than passive muffler. Between 150 Hz and 350 Hz, semi-active muffler has a better performance than passive muffler; above 350 Hz, it has worse performance compared with the passive muffler. 相似文献

为了研究瓦斯爆炸冲击波的动压演化规律,利用数值模拟软件模拟开口型管道内的爆炸。结果表明:动压与流速在时间上存在较好的对应关系,基本同时出现正向和反向的峰值;动压在3个方向上不仅伴随传播距离的增大而不断增大,也伴随传播时间的延长而增大;沿管道方向(火焰传播方向)上的最大动压值是其他2个方向(管道径向)上的数千倍;相比爆炸超压而言,管道径向上的动压对爆炸破坏效应的影响较小,而沿管道方向上的动压造成的破坏效应不能忽视;验证了动压与流速的平方呈正比关系,同时通过分析给出了动压基于管道几何尺寸和流速的经验公式。 相似文献

This paper proposes a new multichannel time reversal focusing (MTRF) method for circumferential Lamb waves which is based on modified time reversal algorithm and applies this method for detecting different kinds of defects in thick-walled pipe with large-diameter. The principle of time reversal of circumferential Lamb waves in pipe is presented along with the influence from multiple guided wave modes and propagation paths. Experimental study is carried out in a thick-walled and large-diameter pipe with three artificial defects, namely two axial notches on its inner and outer surface respectively, and a corrosion-like defect on its outer surface. By using the proposed MTRF method, the multichannel signals focus at the defects, leading to the amplitude improvement of the defect scattered signal. Besides, another energy focus arises in the direct signal due to the partial compensation of dispersion and multimode of circumferential Lamb waves, alongside the multichannel focusing, during MTRF process. By taking the direct focus as a time base, accurate defect localization is implemented. Secondly, a new phenomenon is exhibited in this paper that defect scattered wave packet appears just before the right boundary of truncation window after time reversal, and to which two feasible explanations are given. Moreover, this phenomenon can be used as the theoretical basis in the determination of defect scattered waves in time reversal response signal. At last, in order to detect defects without prior knowing their exact position, a large-range truncation window is used in the proposed method. As a result, the experimental operation of MTRF method is simplified and defect detection and localization are well accomplished. 相似文献

热管冷却核反应堆具有非能动传热、模块化和固有安全性高等特点,在航空探索、深海作业和偏远地区电力市场上有广泛的应用。以洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室开发的5 MWth热管堆为研究对象,选择SS-316,Mo-14Re和SiC作为基体候选材料,采用反应堆蒙特卡罗中子输运分析程序对比分析了以上三种基体堆芯的反应性、中子能谱、增殖性能和燃耗演化。结果表明:为了维持堆芯的10年运行,SS-316,Mo-14Re和SiC三种基体堆芯所需的初始燃料235U富集度分别约为19.35%,28.80%和17.10%,SiC基体堆芯所需的初始燃料235U富集度最小;10年后,SiC基体堆芯产生的易裂变核素(239Pu和241Pu)和次锕系核素(通过分离嬗变可被再次利用)的量最高,分别约为11.91 kg和92.08 g。综合以上研究结果,推荐SiC作为热管冷却核反应堆的基体。 相似文献

Experimental results for various water and air superficial velocities in developing adiabatic horizontal two-phase pipe flow are presented. Flow pattern maps derived from videos exhibit a new boundary line in intermittent regime. This transition from water dominant to water–gas coordinated regimes corresponds to a new transition criterion CT = 2, derived from a generalized representation with the dimensionless coordinates of Taitel and Dukler.Velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation rate, void fraction and bubble size radial profiles measured at 40 pipe diameters for JL = 4.42 m/s by hot film velocimetry and optical probes confirm this transition: the gas influence is not continuous but strongly increases beyond JG = 0.06 m/s. The maximum dissipation rate, derived from spectra, is increased in two-phase flow by a factor 5 with respect to the single phase case.The axial evolution of the bubble intercept length histograms also reveal the flow organization in horizontal layers, driven by buoyancy effects. Bubble coalescence is attested by a maximum bubble intercept evolving from 2.5 to 4.5 mm along the pipe. Turbulence generated by the bubbles is also manifest by the 4-fold increase of the maximum turbulent dissipation rate along the pipe. 相似文献

文中针对三维坐标系下,圆翅片叉排热管散热器的流动和传热特性进行数值模拟研究。分析了三个主要影响因素:翅片间距、翅片厚度和排间距对平均换热系数、流动摩擦系数和热阻的影响。翅片间距分别为6mm、7mm和8mm,翅片厚度分别为0.8mm、1mm和1.2mm,排间距分别为21.7mm、23mm和24.3mm。模拟结果表明:随着迎面风速增加,摩擦系数减小,传热热阻减小;随着翅片厚度的增加,摩擦系数减小、换热能力增强,热阻在大Re时增大明显。随着翅片间距的增大,摩擦系数增大,换热能力提高,热阻增大;随着排间距的增大,摩擦系数在正三角形管排布时的值上下变动,且只有排间距显著增大时,换热能力和热阻才会增大。 相似文献
