Summary The prediction of protein conformation by homology is being widely pursued using interactive computer graphics. However, there have been a limited number of energy minimization and/or molecular dynamics studies for such predictions. This paper reports one such study on -lactalbumin, a system that can be tested as the X-ray crystal structure has recently been determined. The differences in structure of the Ca2+ binding loop reported for the holo-protein (Stuart et al., Nature, 324 [1986] 84–87) and that predicted for the apoprotein could be attributed to the presence or absence of the Ca2+ ion. 相似文献

Let M be a Poisson manifold. Kontsevich proved that star products exist on M and he gave a classification. To relate his classification with other classifications, one could try to extend the Connes–Flato–Sternheimer invariant to a general Poisson manifold. We show how generalization of this invariant is related to the formality conjecture for chains. Finally, we show how to prove those conjectures step by step. Livernet for algebras over rational differential graded operads to the framework of cofibrant operads over an arbitrary ring (the category of algebras over such operads admits a closed model category structure). We prove two similar results by quite different methods. The first one deals with augmented artinian algebras over a field: we characterize the trivial algebra structure on the augmentation ideal in terms of the maximality of the dimensions of the Hochschild homology (or cyclic homology) groups. For the second result, let be a 1-connected finite CW-complex. We characterize the trivial algebra structure on the cohomology algebra of with coefficients in a fixed field in terms of the maximality of the Betti numbers of the free loop space.
