Ab-initio simulation of elastic constants for some ceramic materials

Athermal elasticity for some ceramic materials (α-Al₂O₃, SiC (α and β phases), TiO₂ (rutile and anatase), hexagonal AlN and TiB₂, cubic BN and CaF₂, and monoclinic ZrO₂) have been investigated via density functional theory. Energy-volume equation-of-state computations to obtain the zero pressure equilibrium volume and bulk modulus as well as computations of the full elastic constant tensor of these ceramics at the experimental zero pressure volume have been performed. The present results for the single crystal elasticity are in good agreement with experiments both for the aggregate properties (bulk and shear modulus) and the elastic anisotropy. In contrast, a considerable discrepancy for the zero pressure bulk modulus of some ceramics evaluated from the energy-volume fit to the computational zero pressure volume has been observed.     

Lipschitz classes on local fields

The Lipschitz class Lipαon a local field K is defined in this note,and the equivalent relationship between the Lipschitz class Lipαand the Holder type space C~α(K)is proved.Then,those important characteristics on the Euclidean space R~n and the local field K are compared,so that one may interpret the essential differences between the analyses on R~n and K.Finally,the Cantor type fractal functionθ(x)is showed in the Lipschitz class Lip(m,K),m＜(ln 2/ln 3).     

G-网络排队系统的研究新进展

在研究排队网络的文献中,G-网络(即推广的排队网络)最近受到了国际学者广泛的关注,它的研究在一定程度上丰富了排队网络的内容.正因为有很多学者投入到此项研究中,新的结果是层出不穷的.本文简短地介绍G-网络近年来的发展.     

利用微悬臂梁表面应力研究聚N-异丙基丙烯酰胺分子的构象转变

提出了一种基于微悬臂梁传感技术研究大分子折叠/构象转变的新方法.通过分子自组装的方法将热敏性的聚N-异丙基丙烯酰胺(PNIPAM)分子链修饰到微悬臂梁的单侧表面，用光杠杆技术检测温度在20—40℃之间变化时由于微悬臂梁上的PNIPAM分子在水中的构象转变所引起的微悬臂梁变形.实验结果显示：在升温过程中，微悬臂梁的表面应力发生了变化并且导致微悬臂梁产生了弯曲变形，这个过程对应着微悬臂梁上的PNIPAM分子从无规线团构象到塌缩小球构象的构象转变.在降温过程中，微悬臂梁发生了反方向的弯曲变形，这对应着PNIPA 关键词： 构象转变 聚N-异丙基丙烯酰胺分子链 表面应力 微悬臂梁     

Pro-torus actions on Poincaré duality spaces

In this paper, it is shown that some of the results of torus actions on Poincaré duality spaces, Borel’s dimension formula and topological splitting principle to local weights, hold if ‘torus’ is replaced by ‘pro-torus’.     

Convergence Rate of The Trust Region Method for Nonlinear Equations Under Local Error Bound Condition

In this paper, we present the new trust region method for nonlinear equations with the trust region converging to zero. The new method preserves the global convergence of the traditional trust region methods in which the trust region radius will be larger than a positive constant. We study the convergence rate of the new method under the local error bound condition which is weaker than the nonsingularity. An example given by Y.X. Yuan shows that the convergence rate can not be quadratic. Finally, some numerical results are given. Nonlinear Time Series Analysis Since 1990:Some Personal Reflections

Abstract I reflect upon the development of nonlinear time series analysis since 1990 by focusing on five majorareas of development. These areas include the interface between nonlinear time series analysis and chaos,thenonparametric/semiparametric approach,nonlinear state space modelling,financial time series and nonlinearmodelling of panels of time series.     

The Casimir effect of Reissner-NordstrSm black hole

The stress tensor of a massless scalar field satisfying a mixed boundary condition in a （1 ＋ 1）-dimensional Reissner- Nordstrom black hole background is calculated by using Wald＇s axiom. We find that Dirichlet stress tensor and Neumann stress tensor can be deduced by changing the coefficients of the stress tensor calculated under a mixed boundary condition. The stress tensors satisfying Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are discussed. In addition, we also find that the stress tensor in conformal flat spacetime background differs from that in flat spacetime only by a constant.     

用干涉方法测量薄膜应力

基于基片弯曲法和牛顿环的基本原理,使用He-Ne激光器、扩束镜、凸透镜和带分光镜的移测显微镜,搭建了薄膜应力测量装置.采用直流溅射法制备了厚度为30~144 nm的银薄膜,衬底采用厚度为0.15 mm、直径为18 mm的圆形玻璃片.实验发现,薄膜厚度对银薄膜的内应力有显著的影响,在薄膜厚度很小时,随着薄膜厚度的增加,应力迅速增大,达到最大值后,随着厚度的继续增加,薄膜应力下降较快并趋于稳定值.     

Characterisations of function spaces of generalised smoothness

We investigate function spaces of generalised smoothness of Besov and Triebel–Lizorkin type. Equivalent quasi-norms in terms of maximal functions and local means are given. An atomic decomposition theorem for this type of spaces is proved. Mathematics Subject Classification (2000) 46E35
