Exponential distributions on semigroups

Three fundamental characterizations of the standard exponential distribution on [0, ) are the remaining life, memoryless and constant failure properties. Analogs of these properties are studied for distributions on a class of semigroups in which the semigroup operation replaces addition, a compatible partial order replaces the ordinary order, and a left-invariant measure replaces Lebesgue measure. Partial characterizations of exponential distributions on such semigroups are obtained and the semigroup formulation provides new characterizations of certain aging properties studied in reliability-increasing failure rate, new better than used, and increasing failure rate average.     

The theoretical basis of column chromatography in multicomponent separations. Part 2: Peak capacity. Column systems with good selectivity

The selectivity of a column system, S, defined by equation 28, includes a variation coefficient (β) of plate number with capacity ratio which has a large influence on the peak capacity, as shown in Fig. 18. Some typical chromatograms are given. In order to predict S for a column system from Kovat's Index, equations 40 and 41 are given to calculate the constant of the carbon number rule for squalane at different temperatures or for different stationary phases. The specific retention value of heptane on squalane at different temperatures can be calculated from equation 42. The nonpolarity index, defined by equation 43, was used to calculate the retention value of heptane on various stationary phases. In liquid chromatography, the order of elution may be reversed by changing the composition of the eluent on the same chemically bonded silica (manufactured in China). The linear relations between the log retention values of different kinds of solutes or of a single solute on the silicas of different surface areas when using the same eluent are given.     

Asymptotic expansions of the distributions of some test statistics

Summary A modified Wald statistic for testing simple hypothesis against fixed as well as local alternatives is proposed. The asymptotic expansions of the distributions of the proposed statistic as well as the Wald and Rao statistics under both the null and alternative hypotheses are obtained. The powers of these statistics are compared and its is shown that for special structures of parameters some statistics have same power in the sence of order . The results obtained are applied for testing the hypothesis about the covariance matrix of the multivariate normal distribution and it is shown that none of the tests based on the above statistics is uniformly superior. A kinetic analysis of multistep electrochemical reactions involving partial diffusion transport of intermediates between the near-electrode layer and the bulk electrolyte is performed within theory of generalized variables (theory of similarity). Numerical calculation of domains of analyticity for perturbation theories in the presence of small divisors

We study numerically the complex domains of validity for KAM theory in generalized standard mappings. We compare methods based on Padé approximants and methods based on the study of periodic orbits.     

Analysis of energy release rate for composite delaminated cylindrical shells subjected to axial compression

In this paper, the postbuckling governing equations and the analytical expression of the energy release rates associated with delamination growth in a compression-loaded cylindrical shell are derived by using the variational principle of moving boundary and the Griffith fracture criterion. The finite difference method is used to generate the postbuckling solutions of the delaminated cylindrical shells, and with these solutions, the values of the energy release rates are determined. In simulational examples, the effects of a wide range of parameters, such as delamination sizes and depths, boundary conditions, geometrical parameters, material properties and laminate stacking sequences on the energy release rates of axisymmetrical laminated cylindrical shells are intensively discussed.The English text was polished by Yunming Chen.

基于微面模型,定义损伤变量为微面上有效承载面积的减少. 将Kachanov的一维有效 应力概念推广到三维,提出微面有效应力矢量的概念. 根据微面的有效应力矢量,将无损材 料的宏观应力张量及不变量与微面应力矢量的积分关系拓展到有损材料,得到了有损材料的 宏观有效应力张量及其不变量与宏观名义应力张量、微面面积损伤组构张量之间的关系. 将 无损材料的以应力张量不变量表示的Drucker-Prager准则推广到有损材料,建立了含缺陷 材料的各向异性屈服准则. 对有损材料,宏观有效应力张量与Murakami的有效应力张量具 有相同的形式,各向异性强度准则与Liu等提出的扩展Hill准则有相同的形式,当不考虑 静水应力对屈服的影响时,它与Hill准则具有相同的形式.     

A Generalized Blow up Criteria with One Component of Velocity for 3D Incompressible MHD System∗

In this paper, the authors study the global regularity of the 3D magnetohydrodynamics system in terms of one velocity component. In particular, they establish a new Prodi-Serrin type regularity criterion in the framework of weak Lebesgue spaces both in time and space variables.
