We study the problem of extendibility of polynomials over Banach spaces: when can a polynomial defined over a Banach space be extended to a polynomial over any larger Banach space? To this end, we identify all spaces of polynomials as the topological duals of a space spanned by evaluations, with Hausdorff locally convex topologies. We prove that all integral polynomials over a Banach space are extendible. Finally, we study the Aron-Berner extension of integral polynomials, and give an equivalence for non-containment of .

The transient flow field in the standard 20-liter explosion sphere was investigated by means of laser Doppler anemometry.
Velocities were measured at various locations within the flow field, and this information was used to quantify the transient
behavior of the root-mean-square of the velocity fluctuations and to investigate the spatial homogeneity and the directional
isotropy of the turbulence. The investigation involved the transient flow fields generated by the three most widely used dust
dispersion systems, namely, the Perforated Dispersion Ring, the Rebound Nozzle, and the Dahoe Nozzle. With all three dispersion
dust devices, the decay of turbulence could be correlated by a decay law of the form
It was found that no formal cube-root-law agreement exists between the 20-liter explosion sphere and the 1-m3 vessel. The results of this work also call into question the widely held belief that the cube-root-law is a valid scaling
relationship between dust explosion severities measured in laboratory test vessels and the severity of industrial dust explosions.

为了模拟核爆、化爆冲击震动环境,根据能量守恒和弹性碰撞原理,研制了悬挂式爆炸冲击震动模拟平台。该平台能够完成水平向和垂直向冲击试验,通过对锤重、锤高和垫层厚度等参数的合理选择,性能指标可达到:水平向冲击加速度峰值5~1 500 m/s2,作用时间50~4 ms;垂直向冲击加速度峰值10~1 000 m/s2,作用时间60~4 ms。性能试验表明,该平台能够为防护工程结构抗震及其他有关冲击振动问题的研究提供安全、方便、经济、可靠的试验手段。 相似文献

The current and the voltage of an X-pinch were measured. The inductance of the X-pinch was assumed to be a constant and estimated by the calculation of the magnetic field based on the well-known Biot-Savart's Law. The voltage of the inductance was calculated with L · di/dt and subtracted from the measured voltage of the X-pinch. Then, the resistance of the X-pinch was determined and the following results were obtained. At the start of the current flow the resistance of the exploding wires is several tens of Ohms, one order of magnitude, higher than the metallic resistance of the wires at room temperature, and then it falls quickly to about 1 , which reflects the physical processes occurring in the electrically exploding wires, i.e., a current transition from the highly resistive wire core to the highly conductive plasma. It was shown that the inductive contribution to the voltage of the X-pinch is less than the resistive contribution. For the wires we used, the wires' material and diameter have no strong influence on the resistance of the X-pinch, which may be explained by the fact that the current flows through the plasma rather than through the metallic wire itself. As a result, the current is almost equally divided between two parallel X-pinches even though the diameter and material of the wires used for these two X-pinches are significantly different. 相似文献
