In this paper, we extend the Pontryagin maximum principle and the transversality conditions to a class of optimal control problems for an evolution system of parabolic type through the analysis of proximal normals to the epigraph of suitable value functions. We establish direct isomorphisms between different versions of tiling cohomology. The first version is the direct limit of the cohomologies of the approximants in the Anderson-Putnam-Gähler system, the second is the recently introduced PV-cohomology of Savinien and Bellissard and the third is pattern equivariant cohomology. For the last two versions one can define weak cohomology groups. We show that the isomorphisms extend to the weak versions. This leads to an alternative formulation of the pattern equivariant mixed quotient group which describes deformations of the tiling modulo topological conjugacy. 相似文献

We construct a new compactification of a noncompact rank one globally symmetric space. The result is a nonmetrizable space which also compactifies the Borel–Serre enlargement X of X, contractible only in the appropriate ech sense, and with the action of any arithmetic subgroup of the isometry group of X on X not being small at infinity. Nevertheless, we show that such a compactification can be used in the approach to Novikov conjectures developed recently by G. Carlsson and E. K. Pedersen. In particular, we study the nontrivial instance of the phenomenon of bounded saturation in the boundary of X and deduce that integral assembly maps split in the case of a torsion-free arithmetic subgroup of a semi-simple algebraic Q-group of real rank one or, in fact, the fundamental group of any pinched hyperbolic manifold. Using a similar construction we also split assembly maps for neat subgroups of Hilbert modular groups. 相似文献

The simplest non-collision solutions of the -body problem are the ``relative equilibria', in which each body follows a circular orbit around the centre of mass and the shape formed by the bodies is constant. It is easy to see that the moment of inertia of such a solution is constant. In 1970, D. Saari conjectured that the converse is also true for the planar Newtonian -body problem: relative equilibria are the only constant-inertia solutions. A computer-assisted proof for the 3-body case was recently given by R. Moeckel, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. (2005). We present a different kind of answer: proofs that several generalisations of Saari's conjecture are generically true. Our main tool is jet transversality, including a new version suitable for the study of generic potential functions.

Let G be a finite group. For a based G-space X and a Mackey functor M, a topological Mackey functor is constructed, which will be called the stable equivariant abelianization of X with coefficients in M. When X is a based G-CW complex, is shown to be an infinite loop space in the sense of G-spaces. This gives a version of the RO(G)-graded equivariant Dold-Thom theorem. Applying a variant of Elmendorf's construction, we get a model for the Eilenberg-Mac Lane spectrum HM. The proof uses a structure theorem for Mackey functors and our previous results. 相似文献

In this paper we study the stability of the Baum–Connes conjecture with coefficients undertaking group extensions. For this, it is necessary to extend Kasparov's equivariant KK-theory to an equivariant theory for twisted actions of groups on C
