A symmetry-breaking problem in the annulus

We study questions of degeneracy and bifurcation for radial solutions of the semilinear elliptic equation ?u(x) + f(u(x)) = 0, x isin; [math001], [math001]an annulus in Rⁿ, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. For certain nonlinearities f(u), we prove existence of degenerate radial solutions u (for which the kernel of the linearized operator Lz = ?z + [math001](u)z, z isin; C²We study questions of degeneracy and bifurcation for radial solutions of the semilinear elliptic equation ?u(x) + f(u(x)) = 0, x isin; [math001], [math001]an annulus in Rⁿ, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. For certain nonlinearities f(u), we prove existence of degenerate radial solutions u (for which the kernel of the linearized operator Lz = ?z + [math001](u)z, z isin; C²$⁰([math001]), is non-trivial) and existence of nonradial solutions for the semi-linear equation. These nonradial (asymmetric) solutions are obtained via a bifurcation procedure from the radial (symmetric) ones. This phenomena is called symmetry-breaking. The bifurcation results are proved by a Conley index argument     

An inverse problem for pseudoparabolic equation of filtration: the stabilization

In this article, the properties of the solution to the inverse problem on the identification of the leading coefficient of the multi-dimensional pseudoparabolic equation are studied. The stabilization of its strong solution to the solution of the inverse problem for an elliptic equation is established.     

On a fractional sublinear elliptic equation with a variable coefficient

We study the existence and uniqueness of bounded weak solutions to a fractional sublinear elliptic equation with a variable coefficient, in the whole space. Existence is investigated in connection to a certain fractional linear equation, whereas the proof of uniqueness relies on uniqueness of weak solutions to an associated fractional porous medium equation with variable density.     

On the Superlinear Convergence Rate of the Preconditioned CGM for Some Nonsymmetric Elliptic Problems

Earlier estimates on the superlinear convergence of the preconditioned conjugate gradient method are completed using singular values of compact operators. Suitable domain independence and an explicit estimate of the magnitude of superlinear convergence are derived.     

某些常微分方程的亚纯解表示与应用

本文运用Nevanlinna值分布理论研究了某些常微分方程亚纯解的存在性. 对于某些具有控制项的常系数常微分方程, 本文得到了亚纯解的表示, 并且给出了求相应偏微分方程精确解的一种方法.作为例子, 本文运用此方法得到了著名的KdV方程的所有亚纯行波精确解. 结果显示该方法比其他方法简单.
