Capillary electrophoresis is a modern separation technique characterized by many benefits, which qualify it also for enzyme assays and the study of enzyme kinetics during drug development. Homogeneous or heterogeneous approaches can be followed for the enzymatic incubation. In this study, an immobilization procedure of aldehyde oxidase on magnetic particles was developed considering their integration with capillary electrophoresis. A number of magnetic nano/microparticle types were tested for this purpose, showing that aldehyde oxidase was most active when immobilized on bare silica magnetic nanoparticles. Primarily, the reusability of the enzyme immobilized on bare silica nanoparticles was tested. Three consecutive incubations with substrate could be performed, but the activity considerably dropped after the first incubation. One reason could be an enzyme detachment from the nanoparticles, but no release was detected neither at 4°C nor at 37°C during 5 h. The drop in enzymatic activity observed in consecutive incubations, could also be due to inactivation of the enzyme over time at given temperature. For the immobilized enzyme stored at 4°C, the activity decreased to 83% after 5 h, in contrast with a steep decrease at 37°C to 37%. 相似文献

In this work we employ the state-of-the-art pseudopotential method, within a generalized gradient approximation to the density functional theory, combined with a recently developed method for the calculation of HREELS spectra to study a series of different proposed models for carbon incorporation on the silicon (0 0 1) surface. A fully discussion on the geometry, energetics and specially the comparison between experimental and theoretical STM images and electron energy loss spectra indicate that the Si(1 0 0)-c(4 × 4) is probably induced by Si-C surface dimers, in agreement with recent experimental findings. 相似文献

We analyze the effect of a colored non Gaussian noise on a model of
a random walker moving along a ratchet potential. Such a model was
motivated by the transport properties of motor proteins, like
kinesin and myosin. Previous studies have been realized assuming
white noises. However, for real situations, in general we could
expect that those noises be correlated and non Gaussian. Among other
aspects, in addition to a maximum in the current as the noise
intensity is varied, we have also found another optimal value of the
current when departing from Gaussian behavior. We show the relevant
effects that arise when departing from Gaussian behavior,
particularly related to current's enhancement, and discuss its

Far-from-equilibrium models of interacting particles in one dimension
are used as a basis for modelling the stock-market
fluctuations. Particle types and their positions are interpreted as
buy and sel orders placed on a price axis in the order book. We
revisit some modifications of well-known models, starting with the
Bak-Paczuski-Shubik model. We look at the four decades old Stigler
model and investigate its variants. One of them is the simplified
version of the Genoa artificial market. The list of studied models is
completed by the models of Maslov and Daniels et al. Generically, in
all cases we
compare the return distribution, absolute return autocorrelation and
the value of the Hurst exponent. It turns out that none of the models
reproduces satisfactorily all the empirical data, but the most promising
candidates for further development are the Genoa artificial market and

Using the Born expansion of the Green tensor, we consider the
spontaneous decay rate of an excited atom placed in the vicinity of
a rectangular plate. We discuss the limitations of the commonly used
simplifying assumption that the plate extends to infinity in the lateral
directions and examine the effects of the atomic dipole moment
orientation, atomic position, and plate boundary and thickness on the atomic
decay rate. In particular, it is shown that
due to the plate finite size, the spontaneous decay may be inhibited
even when the atom is situated very close to the surface, and that
in the boundary region, the

We study a general class of nonlinear mean field
Fokker-Planck equations in relation with an effective generalized
thermodynamical (E.G.T.) formalism. We show that these equations describe
several physical systems such as: chemotaxis of bacterial
populations, Bose-Einstein condensation in the canonical ensemble,
porous media, generalized Cahn-Hilliard equations, Kuramoto model,
BMF model, Burgers equation, Smoluchowski-Poisson system for
self-gravitating Brownian particles, Debye-Hückel theory of
electrolytes, two-dimensional turbulence... In particular, we show
that nonlinear mean field Fokker-Planck equations can provide
generalized Keller-Segel models for the chemotaxis of
biological populations. As an example, we introduce a new model of
chemotaxis incorporating both effects of anomalous diffusion and
exclusion principle (volume filling). Therefore, the notion of
generalized thermodynamics can have applications for concrete
physical systems. We also consider nonlinear mean field
Fokker-Planck equations in phase space and show the passage from
the generalized Kramers equation to the generalized Smoluchowski
equation in a strong friction limit. Our formalism is simple and
illustrated by several explicit examples corresponding to Boltzmann,
Tsallis, Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein entropies among others. 相似文献

Nb/Al-AlOx/Nb tunnel junctions are often used in the studies of macroscopic quantum phenomena and superconducting qubit applications of the Josephson devices. In this work, we describe a convenient and reliable process using electron beam lithography for the fabrication of high-quality, submicron-sized Nb/Al-AlOx/Nb Josephson junctions. The technique follows the well-known selective Nb etching process and produces high-quality junctions with Vm=100 mV at 2.3 K for the typical critical current density of 2.2 kA/cm^2, which can be adjusted by controlling the oxygen pressure and oxidation time during the formation of the tunnelling barrier. We present the results of the temperature dependence of the sub-gap current and in-plane magnetic-field dependence of the critical current, and compare them with the theoretical predictions. 相似文献

In a capillary discharge experiment for the neon-like argon lasing, we have proposed an experimental scheme to verify that the multi-spike of X-ray diode (XRD) signal is a multi-pulse laser or is a reflection of the laser pulse in the XRD.The ceramic capillary has an inner diameter of 3mm and a length of 200mm.At the gas pressure of 28Pa and discharge current of 27kA, stable lasing has been realized.The experimental results prove that the multi-spike of XRD signal is a reflection of the electromagnetic signal produced by the laser pulse in the XRD.The improved electrocircuit scheme of the XRD to minimize the reflection phenomena is also found. 相似文献

The substrate is shown to induce substantial ordering in diblock copolymer thin films above the bulk order-disorder transition
(ODT) where, thermodynamically, a phase mixed state is favored. Initially, uniform films reorganize to form a hierarchy of
transient surface patterns and stable film thicknesses that depend on the initial film thickness and on the substrate. Self-consistent
field calculations of the free energy of the system for different situations, depending on the relative tendency for the different
block components to be attracted to the substrate and/or free surface, provide an explanation of the formation of the stable
film thicknesses. A continuum picture proposed earlier by Brochard et al.rovides an explanation of the wetting characteristics of this system. In some cases the ordering destabilizes the film so
that dewetting occurs (wetting autophobicity), whereas in other cases the surface ordering results in a kinetic stabilization
of a film that would otherwise dewet.
