Mixed formulations of bending problems for homogeneous plates (beams) are proposed, whose essence is that the deformation of a plate (beam) near its fixed boundary is described by the threedimensional elasticity equations, and the remaining part by the conventional equations of plate (beam) bending. At the interface between these regions, the solutions of these equations are joined. The mixed formulation allows one to describe the threedimensional stress state in the neighborhood of the fixed boundaries of plates (beams) and take into account the complex nature of the fixing conditions. Finiteelement implementation is more efficient for the mixed formulations of plate (beam) bending problems than for the wellknown threedimensional formulations. 相似文献

This paper develops a new procedure for evaluating the elastic forces, the elastic energy and the jacobian of the elastic
forces in the absolute nodal coordinate formulation. For this procedure, it is fundamental to use some invariant sparse matrices
that are integrated in advance and have the property of transforming the evaluation of the elastic forces in a matrix multiplication
process. The use of the invariant matrices avoids the integration over the volume of the element for every evaluation of the
elastic forces. Great advantages can be achieved from these invariant matrices when evaluating the elastic energy and calculating
the jacobian of the elastic forces as well. The exact expression of the jacobian of the differential system of equations of
motion is obtained, and some advantages of using the absolute nodal coordinate formulation are pointed out. Numerical results
show that there is important time saving as a result of the use of the invariant matrices. 相似文献

Purely elastic interfacial stability of superposed plane Poiseuille flow of polymeric liquids has been investigated utilizing both asymptotic and numerical techniques. It is shown that these instabilities are caused by an unfavorable jump in the first normal stress difference across the fluid interface. To determine the significance of these instabilities in finite experimental geometries, a comparison between the maximum growth rates of purely elastic instabilities with instabilities driven primarily by a viscosity or a combined viscosity and elasticity difference is made. Based on this comparison, it is shown that purely elastic interfacial instabilities can play a major role in superposed flow of polymeric liquids in finite experimental geometries. 相似文献
