A series of copolyesters were synthesized by melt‐polycondensation reaction of poly(ethylene terephtalate) (PET) with various proportions of equimolar compositions of p‐acetoxybenzoic acid (p‐ABA), hydroquinone diacetate (HQDA) and terephtalic acid (TPA). Viscosity, liquid crystallinity, thermal properties, degree of crystallinity and thermal stabilitiy of these copolyesters were investigated by Ubbelohde viscometer, hot‐stage polarized light microscopy (PLM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction (WAXD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively. On the basis of viscosity measurement, it was observed that intrinsic viscosity values of the copolyesters are increased regularly with increasing amounts of aromatic units (p‐ABA, HQDA and TPA) in the polymer chain. Thermotropic liquid crystalline behavior was observed in the copolyesters containing over 50 mol% of rigid p‐ABA/HQDA/TPA aromatic units. DSC analysis of the anisotropic copolyesters revealed broad and weak endotherms associated with the nematic phases, and the melting temperatures were found to be in the processable region. As the mol% of PET in the polymer chain increased, the specific enthalpies of fusion and the degree of crystallinity of the copolyesters were also increased regularly.  相似文献

A novel multiblock aromatic–aliphatic copolyester poly(ethylene‐co‐1,6‐hexene terephthalate)‐copoly(1,4‐dioxan‐2‐one) (PEHT‐PPDO) was successfully synthesized via the chain‐extension reaction of dihydroxyl teminated poly(ethylene‐co‐hexane terephthalate) (PEHT‐OH) with dihydroxyl teminated poly(1,4‐dioxan‐2‐one) (PPDO‐OH) prepolymers, using toluene‐2,4‐diisocyanate as a chain extender. To produce PEHT‐OH prepolymer with an appropriate melting point which can match the reaction temperature of PEHT‐OH prepolymer with PPDO‐OH prepolymer, 1,6‐hexanediol was used to disturb the regularity of poly(ethylene terephthalate) segments. The chemical structures and molecular weights of PEHT‐PPDO copolymers were characterized by 1H NMR, FTIR, and GPC. The DSC data showed that PPDO‐OH segments were miscible well with PEHT‐OH segments in amorphous state and that the crystallization of copolyester was predominantly contributed by PPDO segments. The TGA results indicated that the thermal stability of PEHT‐PPDO was improved comparing with PPDO homopolymer. The novel aromatic–aliphatic copolyesters have good mechanical properties and could find applications in the field of biodegradable polymer materials. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The kinetics of the transesterification reaction between poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(ethylene 2,6‐naphthalate) (PEN) with and without the addition of a chain extender were studied with 1H NMR. Different kinetic approaches were considered, and a second‐order, reversible reaction was accepted for the PET/PEN reactive blend system. The addition of 2,2′‐bis(1,3‐oxazoline) (BOZ) promoted the transesterification reaction between PET and PEN in the molten state. The activation energy of the transesterification reaction for the PET/PEN reactive blend with BOZ (94.0 kJ/mol) was lower than that without BOZ (168.9KJ/mol). The rate constant k took an almost constant value for blend samples with different compositions mixed at 275 °C. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Liquid crystalline copolyester (LCC)/organically modified-montmorillonite (OMMT) nanocomposite films were prepared by a solvent casting method with different OMMT contents, using p-chlorophenol as a solvent. Both LCC and LCC/OMMT were heat treated to obtain the smectic structure. To examine their internal structure and morphology, the prepared LCC/OMMT nanocomposite films were characterized by an X-ray diffraction method and TEM (transmission electron microscopy). The d-spacing of the silicate layers for each LCC/OMMT nanocomposite film was shifted, indicating that the OMMT particles were dispersed in the LCC matrix and formed intercalated structures. Thermal characteristics of the LCC/OMMT nanocomposite films were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and thermo-mechanical analysis (TMA). The gel-to-liquid crystal transition (Tc-lc) and degradation temperatures (Td) of both LCC and LCC/OMMT nanocomposite films with different heat treatment time were examined. The Tc-lc and Td of the LCC/OMMT were found to be enhanced compared with those of the LCC film, exhibiting their improved thermal characteristics.  相似文献

为了获得较高分子量的具有高阻燃性的热致性液晶高分子,通过固态聚合方法合成了一种基于对羟基苯甲酸、对苯二甲酸、乙二醇和含磷菲环取代二酚的高热稳定性、较低相转变温度和宽的液晶相转变温度范围的含磷液晶共聚酯(BDQTEP),并对该含磷液晶共聚酯预聚物(pre-BDQTE)在不同固态聚合条件下获得的聚合物热性能和液晶性进行了研究.对其固态反应速率控制进行了初步的探讨,当反应温度为235℃时,固态聚合反应较为理想.在聚合的初始阶段,共聚酯特性黏数[η]、黏流温度Tf和羧基浓度[COOH]均随聚合时间而明显变化,但在6 h后变化较小,几乎不变.通过固态后缩聚,将熔融聚合获得的特性黏数[η]=0.44 dL/g的含磷液晶共聚酯BDQTE的特性黏数提高了近两倍.  相似文献

The crystallization and melting behavior of a main-chain thermotropic copolyester has been investigated by differential scanning calormetry (DSC). The effect of annealing time and temperature on the transition temperatures and enthalpies has been evidenced. Two melting peaks are observed and the first one clearly develops on annealing. The phase transition kinetics of thennotropic liquid crystalline aromatic-aliphatic regular copolyester: were studied by DSC. By means of Kissinger's method the kinetic equation and parameters including activation energy, rate order and preexponential factor for phase transition from nematic to isotropic were obtained.
