Two types of conformal load-bearing antenna structures (CLAS) were designed with microwave composite laminates and Nomex honeycomb cores to secure both the structural rigidity and a good electrical performance. One was a 4 × 8 array for the synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) system and the other was a 5 × 2 array for the wireless local-area network (LAN) system. The design was based on a wide bandwidth, high polarization purity, low losses, and high structural rigidity. The design, fabrication, and structural/electrical performances of the antenna structures were studied. Their flexural behavior was examined by three-point bending, impact, and buckling tests. The electrical measurements were in a good agreement with simulation results. The complex antenna structures obtained have good flexural characteristics. The design of this antenna structure is extended to give a useful guide for sandwich panel manufacturers as well as antenna designers.  相似文献

The transverse compaction and consolidation of composite fibers obtained from blends of rigid-chain aromatic polyamides and a thermoplastic polycaproamide PA-6 are investigated with the aim to predict the fiber behavior during their compression and processing into plastics. Introduction of the aliphatic polyamide PA-6 into aramid fibers considerably increases their transverse compliance and promotes their sintering. A method for calculating the viscosity of the thermoplastic in the interfiber space from the ratio between the volumetric rate of compaction and the porosity of the material is proposed. It is found that the effective viscosity of the PA-6 melt, during its flow in the thin interfibrillar layers under compression, grows with decrease in its content in the composite fibers.  相似文献

Aluminum nanoparticles are of significant interest in enhancing the rate of energy release from propellants. One of the major impediments to their use is that bare aluminum is highly reactive, while oxide coated aluminum significantly decreases overall performance. We investigate creating aluminum nanoparticles with a thin carbon coating using either a laser induced plasma or a DC plasma-arc. The carbon coating was created by injecting ethylene (C2H4) directly downstream of the plasma. The elemental composition of the coated aluminum nanoparticles was measured in real time with a recently developed quantitative single particle mass spectrometer (SPMS). We found that the aluminum nanoparticles were coated with a carbon layer of thickness around 1–3 nm.The thermal and oxidative stability of these particles was determined by passing the aerosols through a heated flow reactor in a carrier flow of either air or argon, and measuring the aluminum, carbon and oxygen content in the particles with the single particle mass spectrometer. We found that below 700°C the coating was stable, but that the coating oxidized above ∼ ∼800°C. In contrast the carbon coating was thermally stable above ∼ ∼900°C. These results indicate that a carbon coating may be a suitable passivating agent.  相似文献

Radiopaque composites have been produced from flame-made ytterbium/silica mixed oxide within a crosslinked methacrylate resin matrix. The refractive index of the filler powder increased with ytterbium oxide loading. A high transparency was achieved for a matching refractive index of the filler powder and the polymer in comparison to commercial materials with 52 wt% ceramic filling. It was demonstrated that powder homogeneity with regard to particle morphology and distribution of the individual metal atoms is essential to obtain a highly transparent composite. In contrast, segregation of crystalline single-oxide phases drastically decreased the composite transparency despite similar specific surface areas, refractive indices and overall composition. The superior physical strength, transparency and radiopacity compared to composites made from conventional silica based-fillers makes the flame-made mixed-oxide fillers especially attractive for dental restoration materials.  相似文献

 利用递变冲击阻抗材料叠合而成的组合飞片,在二级轻气炮上对无氧铜进行了准等熵压缩性测量,加载时间约达1 μs。用激光速度干涉仪连续记录了不同厚度处无氧铜样品自由面速度随时间的变化过程,并通过拉格朗日波分析技术计算得到40 GPa下的准等熵的应力-应变曲线。结果表明:在低应力区,无氧铜的准等熵压缩线位于冲击绝热线之上;到32 GPa以上,准等熵压缩线才回落到冲击绝热线之下。这个现象与Barker、Chhabildas等对铝与钨的实测现象是一致的,它表明:在低应力区,材料的冲击强化效应与加载速率密切相关。  相似文献

Results of an experimental investigation into the mechanical properties of concrete cylinders confined by a carbon-epoxy composite wrapping are presented. It is shown that, for all the con fined con crete spec i mens tested, the loading paths in the normalized stress space follow a single master curve, what ever the concrete strength and confinement intensity. At stresses in the confined concrete exceeding the strength of plain concrete, the tangent modulus was found to depend on the slope angle of the master curve and the asymptotic value of the differential Poisson ratio (the first derivative of the lateral strain with respect to the axial one). Formulas for predicting the ultimate axial strain and the tangent modulus are derived and compared with the corresponding fib (fédération internationale du béton) recommendations. 本文首先选取对故障比较敏感,又能反映结构动力学特性的频响函数作为诊断故障的参数。通过计算无损板在给定模态下各单元的模态能量,求得每个单元对该阶模态下全板能量的贡献,并由模态实验得到损伤前后频响函数在各阶共振峰处的变化。分析发现两者之间存在内在联系,从而得到一种分析小损伤位置和范围的新方法。  相似文献

We perform a detailed numerical study for the evolution of an expanding miscible drop in a rotating Hele‐Shaw cell. Two mathematical formulations applied to model the coating layer expansion during practical spin‐coating process, such as thinning of the layer by cell pressing and drop spreading outward due to injection, are investigated. Including miscible interfacial stresses, we focus on the investigation of dynamical and morphological influences of two different stabilizing parameters: the gap width parameter for the pressing cell and the injecting strength. In the case of a pressing cell, the fingering features of the expanding miscible drop, such as the critical radius, are distinct from those ones in the experiments of spin coating due to the different distributions of the inherent radial velocity. On the other hand, the global interfacial evolutions of an expanding drop with an additional injection bear remarkable resemblances to their immiscible counterparts. The better agreement for an injecting model suggests its appropriateness when we simulate the emerging fingering instabilities in the spin‐coating process. Moreover, we investigate the effects of Coriolis force at higher miscible Bond numbers. Coriolis force affects significantly the onset of fingering instability and the tilting angles of fingers. These stable effects are in line with the results from the previous studies for miscible and immiscible flow fields. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Homogeneous precursor/precursor solutions with various compositions were obtained with appreciably high solid contents in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone from soluble poly(amic diethyl ester) precursors of rodlike poly(p-phenylene biphenyltetracarboximide) (BPDA-PDA) and flexible poly(4,4′-oxydiphenylene biphenyltetracarboximide) (BPDA-ODA), which are hydrolytically more stable as well as more soluble than the corresponding poly(amic acid)s being equilibrated with the constituent monomers. Both optical microscopic and light scattering measurements showed that the dried precursor blend films and resultant polyimide composite films were optically transparent, regardless of compositions and process conditions. The composite films showed a single Tg behavior. However, for the composite of 30 wt % BPDA-PDA dispersed in the matrix of 70 wt % BPDA-ODA, a smectic crystalline-like aggregation of the BPDA-PDA component was detected on wide-angle x-ray diffraction patterns, indicative of microscopic phase separation between the two components. This phase separation was not detected on the optical microscopy, light scattering, and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis because of their resolution limits: Optical microscopy has a resolution of submicrometers, whereas dynamic mechanical thermal analysis and light scattering have a resolution of ca. 50 Å. Therefore, it is speculated that in the composite films BPDA-PDA and BPDA-ODA polyimide molecules have demixed on the scale of a few nanometers. The mean long periodicity, which was estimated from the small-angle x-ray scattering pattern, varied from 134 to 170 Å as the content of BPDA-ODA component increased.
