The adhesion of various polymers used as model adhesives, polyisobutylene, polyacrylates etc. has been investigated by means of an apparatus measuring the adhesive failure energyw in dependence on contact time, contact pressure, rate of separation, and temperature. The adhesive failure energy of adhesive joints formed with low contact pressure during a short contact time is called tack. After a sufficiently long contact time and with a high bonding pressure an adhesive joint exhibits its maximum energy of separationw m .The viscoelastic properties of the model adhesives were characterized by creep experiments in dependence on time and temperature. The surface tension of the polymer adhesives and adherents could be determined by contact angle measurements. Adhesion measurements of polyisobutylene on a number of adherents were carried out in air and in various liquids in order to obtain information about the influence of surface tension on tack and maximum adhesive failure energy. w m can be written as the product of two terms: the thermodynamic work of adhesionW A which is related to the surface and interfacial tensions of adhesive and adherent and a dimensionless function dependent on temperature and rate of separation which describes the viscoeleastic properties of the adhesive and which obeys the rate-temperature superposition principle known from linear viscoelasticity. The tack is related to incomplete bond formation and cannot be described in the same manner. It is, however, strongly dependent on the viscoelastic properties of the adhesive showing a maximum at about 50 to 70 °C above the glass transition temperature. It is, moreover, influenced by the compliance in the plateau range above the glass transition which is determined by the entanglement network of the polymer. Wetting of the adherent by the adhesive is a further important condition for high tack values which is fulfilled if the adherent has a higher surface tension than the adhesive.  相似文献

The interval prediction of creep strain on the basis of 15 years is carried out for slabs of expanded polystyrene (EPS) subjected to a compressive load. The expansion of the confidence interval caused by the discounted prediction information is allowed for by an additional factor. The creep compliance c (t = 15) of the EPS is determined based on empirically estimating the long-term creep of this material subjected to a compressive stress σ c = 0.3σ10% for 15 years. A model for the material damage, due to dynamic vibrations of a Kelvin‐Voigt viscoelastic beam whose tip is constrained to move between two stops, is presented and numerically analyzed. The contact of the free tip with the stops is described by the normal compliance condition. The evolution of damage of the beam's material, which measures the reduction of its load carrying capacity, is modeled with a parabolic inclusion. The existence of the unique local solution is stated. A numerical algorithm is presented, in which spatially it is approximated by finite elements, and the time derivatives are discretized with the Euler scheme. Based on the strain invariant relationship and taking the high-order elastic energy into account, a nonlinear wave equation is derived, in which the excitation, linear damping, and the other nonlinear terms are regarded as the first-order correction to the linear wave equation. To solve the equation, the biggest challenge is that the secular terms exist not only in the fundamental wave equation but also in the harmonic wave equation (unlike the Duffing oscillator, where they exist only in the fundamental wave equation). In order to overcome this difficulty and to obtain a steady periodic solution by the perturbation technique, the following procedures are taken: (i) for the fundamental wave equation, the secular term is eliminated and therefore a frequency response equation is obtained; (ii) for the harmonics, the cumulative solutions are sought by the Lagrange variation parameter method. It is shown by the results obtained that the second- and higher-order harmonic waves exist in a vibrating bar, of which the amplitude increases linearly with the distance from the source when its length is much more than the wavelength; the shift of the resonant peak and the amplitudes of the harmonic waves depend closely on nonlinear coefficients; there are similarities to a certain extent among the amplitudes of the odd- (or even-) order harmonics, based on which the nonlinear coefficients can be determined by varying the strain and measuring the amplitudes of the harmonic waves in different locations.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the frictional contact between an electro-elastic–visco-plastic body and a conductive foundation. The contact is modelled with normal compliance and a version of Coulomb’s law of dry friction, in which the stiffness and the friction coefficients depend on the electric potential. We derive a variational formulation of the problem and we prove an existence and uniqueness result. The proof is based on a recent existence and uniqueness result on history-dependent quasivariational inequalities obtained in [15]. Then we introduce a fully discrete scheme for solving the problem and, under certain solution regularity assumptions, we derive an optimal order error estimate. Finally, we present some numerical results in the study of a two-dimensional test problem which describes the process of contact in a microelectromechanical switch.  相似文献

将血浆中PaCO2作为自变量、△[HCO3-]/△PaCO2作为因变量,对慢性呼吸性酸碱平衡紊乱时,肾的代偿调节作用进行了量化处理.根据两者间的量化关系,看到:慢性呼吸性酸中毒时,随着血浆中PaCO2值越来越大,△[HCO3-]/△PaCO2的变化率越来越小;慢性呼吸性碱中毒时,随着血浆中PaCO2值越来越小,△[HCO3-]/△PaCO2的变化率也越来越小.这些结果完全符合生物学规律.提示这一量化处理对研究慢性呼吸性酸碱平衡紊乱时,肾代偿调节机制、代偿强度等有一定的意义.  相似文献

We present a spring-defect model in 3-dimensions to describe the connection between elastic distortion and interstitial carbon ordering associated with phase transition from a body centred cubic (BCC) to body centered tetragonal (BCT) structure in BCC metals such as α-iron. The presence or the absence of the carbon is modelled in terms of a pseudo spinŝ=+1or -l.An Ising interaction between carbon atoms is recovered after eliminating the lattice degrees of freedom, which is longranged. The coupling between the spin and lattice degrees of freedom allows for a systematic study of ferroelasticity and the variation of the lattice parameter with carbon concentration. The mean field results for the paraelastic to ferroelastic transition, lattice parameter and static compliance are presented. The significant feature of this calculation is not only a derivation of the defect-defect interaction, but also an explicit calculation of the strain dipole tensor associated with each defect, from a microscopic model.  相似文献

Approximate solutions are given for stresses in a flexible cylindrical interlayer connecting concentric, rigid, cylindrical rims subjected to three loading cases: (i) rotation about the axis of symmetry; (ii) in-plane translation of the rims relative to each other; (iii) out-of-plane rotation of the rims relative to each other. The solutions are important for the multiple filament-wound composite rims used in energy storage flywheels, where the elastomeric interlayer idea has been proposed as a means of preventing high radial tensile stresses, which would otherwise break down the rims at less than optimal speeds. The compliances associated with the second and third loading cases are also given, establishing a simple means of analysis of the critical vibration frequencies of multirim flywheel rotors.  相似文献
