Uniform global asymptotic stability of adaptive cascaded nonlinear systems with unknown high-frequency gains

We study adaptive tracking problems for nonlinear systems with unknown control gains. We construct controllers that yield uniform global asymptotic stability for the error dynamics, and hence tracking and parameter estimation for the original systems. Our result is based on a new explicit, global, strict Lyapunov function construction. We illustrate our work using a brushless DC motor turning a mechanical load. We quantify the effects of time-varying uncertainties on the motor electric parameters.     

Second order estimates for large solutions of elliptic equations

This paper deals with the second term asymptotic behavior of large solutions to the problems Δu=b(x)f(u), x∈Ω, subject to the singular boundary condition u(x)=∞, x∈∂Ω, where Ω is a smooth bounded domain in R^N, and b(x) is a non-negative weight function. The absorption term f is regularly varying at infinite with index ρ>1 (that is lim_u→∞f(ξu)/f(u)=ξ^ρ for every ξ>0) and the mapping f(u)/u is increasing on (0,+∞). Our analysis relies on the Karamata regular variation theory.     

Uniform asymptotic stability of impulsive discrete systems with time delay

This paper studies impulsive discrete systems with time delay. Some novel criteria on uniform asymptotic stability are established by using the method of Lyapunov functions and the Razumikhin-type technique. Examples are presented to illustrate the criteria.     

Multicolor bipartite Ramsey number of C4 and large Kn,n

Let br_k(C₄;K_{n, n}) be the smallest N such that if all edges of K_{N, N} are colored by k + 1 colors, then there is a monochromatic C₄ in one of the first k colors or a monochromatic K_{n, n} in the last color. It is shown that br_k(C₄;K_{n, n}) = Θ(n²/log²n) for k?3, and br₂(C₄;K_{n, n})≥c(n n/log²n)² for large n. The main part of the proof is an algorithm to bound the number of large K_{n, n} in quasi‐random graphs. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Graph Theory 67: 47‐54, 2011     

A finite‐volume scheme for the multidimensional quantum drift‐diffusion model for semiconductors

A finite‐volume scheme for the stationary unipolar quantum drift‐diffusion equations for semiconductors in several space dimensions is analyzed. The model consists of a fourth‐order elliptic equation for the electron density, coupled to the Poisson equation for the electrostatic potential, with mixed Dirichlet‐Neumann boundary conditions. The numerical scheme is based on a Scharfetter‐Gummel type reformulation of the equations. The existence of a sequence of solutions to the discrete problem and its numerical convergence to a solution to the continuous model are shown. 构造了一个新的非常规各向异性Hermite型矩形单元并据此对二阶椭圆问题提出了一个混合元格式,同时给出了该格式的收敛性分析.     

基于和积和最大积的信念传播算法的收敛性分析

在介绍马尔可夫网络和标准信念传播(Belief Propagation,BP)算法的基础上,以具有4个隐含结点的无环马尔可夫网络为例,详细分析了基于和积和最大积的BP算法收敛性,结果表明,在网络为无环马尔可夫网络时,基于和积的BP算法收敛于全局最优解,而基于最大积的BP算法在任何初值条件下,只要经过有限次迭代,BP算法必收敛到唯一固定点,若算法有唯一最优点,则此固定点为最优点.以实证分析为工具,研究BP算法收敛性,可作为BP算法基础理论研究的一次有益尝试.
