Stress state of flexible plates with a hole that are subject to bending

This paper proposes and mathematically proves a method to regularize singular iterations used to solve geometrically nonlinear problems of bending of thin plates with a hole. It is established that the new approximations for deflections and stress functions satisfy the boundary conditions exactly and Karman’s equations asymptotically exactly. Applications of the expanded basis method to study the behavior of light in a two-dimensional photonic crystal slab

We apply the expanded basis method (EBM) to investigate the behavior of light in a two-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) slab. This method is based on expanded completeness bases, including both the propagation and evanescence modes. We calculate the reflected and transmitted coefficients and the corresponding field distributions in the case of multiple mode transportation. We also show the related phases which exhibit oscillations with the frequency of the incident light.     

Reciprocity relations in Eshelbian mechanics

The usual Newtonian mechanics in physical space may be contrasted with the mechanics in material space originated by Eshelby. Reciprocity relations within the linear theory of elasticity play a prominent role in the former. In this communication, two novel analogous theorems have been established in Eshelbian mechanics for linearly elastic bodies.     

K+-Na+二次离子交换制作玻璃波导

通过数值计算模拟了K⁺Na⁺二次扩散玻璃波导的折射率轮廓,阐述了利用K⁺Na⁺二次离子交换的方法,在BK7玻璃上制作波导的过程,分析了极化率不同的扩散离子对的选择对波导有效折射率变化的影响,以及扩散平衡时体积变化对表面折射率的影响,描述了扩散引起的波导内部诱导应力变化设计了测试波导损耗以及波导表面折射率改变的实验装置,对尺寸10mm×10mm×1.5mm和10mm×5mm×1.5mm两组BK7玻璃基片上的玻璃波导进行了测试,测试结果与理论吻合较好.     

有限宽板在裂纹面受两对反平面集中力时裂纹线场的弹塑性分析

本文采用线场分析方法对理想弹塑性材料有限宽板中心裂纹在裂纹面上受两对反平面集中力的情形进行弹塑性分析，求得了裂纹线附近的弹塑性解析解、裂纹线上的塑性区长度随外荷载的变化规律及有限宽板具有中心裂纹的承载力·本文的分析不受小范围屈服假设的限制，并且不附加其他假设条件，其结果在裂纹线附近足够精确·     

约化波动方程的振荡性

本文给出了约化波动方程一切球对称解振荡的充分条件,本文的条件与[2]的条件互为独立,而且研究的方法也不同。     

等离子体中波驱动电流的相对论效应

在以前文献中,曾从含有经典碰撞项的动力方程出发,研究了波驱动电流的相对论效应。对于高温等离子体,我们可不计经典碰撞项,只考虑湍流碰撞过程对电子分布的贡献。从动力方程出发,导出了矩方程,并计算了弱相对论和强相对论情形下,驱动电流的效率因子。     

Configurational Forces and the Dynamics of Planar Cracks in Three-Dimensional Bodies

This paper develops a three-dimensional framework for the evolution of planar cracks, concentrating on the derivation of balances and constitutive equations that describe the motion of the crack tip. The theory is based on the notion of configurational forces in conjunction with a mechanical version of the second law. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Temperature‐dependent polymer–polymer interactions in polystyrene–polyethylene blends

The effect of the temperature on the interaction between the components of an immiscible polystyrene–polyethylene blend has been analyzed with different techniques. Lap‐shear‐strength data and morphological observations indicate an enhanced interaction between the polymeric phases at elevated temperatures, at which dispersive forces are known to predominate. This raises the degree of compatibility of the polymeric components. Rheological measurements also justify the concept of increased adhesion between the components of the blend when it is processed at very high temperatures. Differential scanning calorimetry analysis lends support to an improved homogeneity of the blend at an elevated temperature; this is again consistent with an improved interaction between the blend phases. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Flow in heated straight rotating pipe

Fully developed laminar flow in a straight heated rotating pipe which includes the influence of both, coriolis force and buoyancy force, has been considered analytically. The solution has been obtained in terms of series expansions; the solution is therefore restricted to small values of the parameters involved.
