Intra-elemental photoelectron line intensities and their significance to quantitative analysis

Intraelemental relative photoelectron line intensities for 20 pure elements obtained under ultrahigh vacuum (5·10^?9 torr) and high resolution with cleaned surfaces are presented. Theoretical and experimental aspects of relative photoelectron line intensities as well as other characteristics of significance to quantitative analysis are discussed. Experimental data are related to theoretical results and compared with other recent work.     

Decompositions of metrizable compact spaces admittingT-systems of complex-valued functions

Upper semicontinuous decompositions into continua of a metrizable compact space admitting a Chebyshev system of continuous complex-valued functions are considered. It is proved that the cyclic elements of the Moore decomposition space can be embedded in the two-dimensional sphere. Design of an Athermalized Hybrid Single Lens in the 3-5μm Wavelength Band

With recent advances in technology, diffractive lenses can be used for a variety of applications. In this paper, the diffractive lenses are treated on an athermal chart which is developed for refractive lenses. An athermalized hybrid single lens designed with the chart, operating in the 3-5 μm wavelength band is presented.     

Preconditioned conjugate gradients for solving the transient Boussinesq equations in three-dimensional geometries

In this paper we present a new version of the ‘modified finite element method’ (MFEM) presented by Gresho, Chan, Lee and Upson.¹ The main modification of the original algorithm is the introduction of a cost-effective and memory-saving iterative solver for the discretized Poisson equation for the pressure. The vectorization of the preconditioner has been especially considered. For low Prandtl number problems we also split the advection-diffusion operator of the energy equation into explicit and implicit parts. In that sense the present approach is related to the recent implicitization of the diffusive terms introduced by Gresho and Chan² and by Gresho.³ The algorithm is applied to the study of buoyancy-driven flow oscillations occuring in a horizontal crucible of molten metal under the action of a horizontal temperature gradient.     

烟叶中微量元素的电热蒸发ICP-AES法直接分析研究

本文以聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)悬浮体为化学改进剂,采用悬浮体制样电热蒸发(ETV)ICP-AES法直接测定了烟叶中微量元素(Cu,Fe,Al,Cr,Mn)的含量。研究了待测物的氟化蒸发行为,考察了化学改进剂PTFE浓度、灰化温度、蒸发温度、共存离子对待测物信号强度的影响。在优化实验条件下,方法的检出限为3.8ng·mL~(-1)(Cu)～13ng·mL~(-1)(Fe),相对标准偏差为2.5％(Cu)～5.7％(Cr),回收率在91.0％～112％。

Reaction spectroscopy at fragmentation beam energies – recent advances in studies of two-nucleon removal

Final-state-exclusive two-nucleon removal reaction data from fast fragmentation beams can provide a demanding test of the microscopic two-nucleon transition densities calculated from large-basis shell model wave functions. The sensitivity of measured partial cross sections to pairing and other correlations is discussed. It is also suggested that the widths of the momentum distributions of these partial cross sections will exhibit a strong dependence on the final-state of the residue and the projectile structure.
