Thermo-oxidative effects on the surface energy of polypropylene were measured by inverse gas chromatography as a function of exposure time and temperature. Unaltered polypropylene had a surface energy of 33 mJ/m2. Oxidized polypropylene, after exposure to air at temperatures of 100 °C and 110 °C, had a range of maximum surface energies from 38 to 41 mJ/m2. Comparisons between FTIR carbonyl peak growth and the surface energy showed that both methods detect oxidation, though the increase in surface energy is detected before the carbonyl peak growth is noticeable. The work of adhesion predicted by the surface free energies obtained in this work between a coated calcium carbonate and polypropylene changes by 10% due to the oxidation of the polymer at 110 °C.  相似文献

Two dendritic reversible addition-fragmentation transfer (RAFT) agents with 8 and 16 terminal dithiobenzoate (DTB) groups on the surface of poly(propylene imine) (PPI) dendrimers (generation 2.0 and 3.0, respectively) were successively prepared, and they were used in the RAFT polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAM). The polymerization kinetics was confirmed to pseudo-first-order behavior. The 1H NMR and GPC analyses show that the dendrimer-star den (NIPAAM)x (x = 8 or 16) prepared by RAFT method has well-defined structure, controlled molecular weight and low polydispersities (PDI < 1.3). The aqueous solution prepared from dendrimer-star PNIPAAM showed reversible changes in optical properties: transparent below a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and opaque above the LCST.  相似文献

We described reversible affinity interactions of antibody molecules at a chemically functionalized electrode surface for a repeatedly renewable affinity-biosensing interface. Underlying biofunctionalizable monolayers were constructed with poly(amidoamine) dendrimers, whose surface chain-end groups were double-functionalized with biotinyl ligand and ferrocenyl groups for biospecific recognition and electron transfer reactions, respectively. Functionalized monolayers on gold electrodes provide platform surfaces for biospecific recognition reaction with monoclonal anti-biotin antibody molecules. Bound antibody molecules were dissociated from the surface via displacement reaction by the addition of free biotin in solution, enabling the affinity surface to be renewed and repeatedly utilized. Tracking of the association/dissociation reaction cycles were performed by registering the bioelectrocatalytic currents at the electrode using glucose oxidase (GOx) as a signal generator and ferrocenyl-tethered dendrimer (Fc-D) as an electron transferring mediator in electrolyte. Shielding of the affinity surface by biospecifically bound antibody molecules caused hindrance in electron transfer, resulting in reduced signal from cyclic voltammetry. By the displacement reaction using free biotin, bound antibody molecules were dissociated from the surface and the bioelectrocatalytic signal was restored. With the affinity surfaces constructed in this work, continuous association/dissociation reactions have been successfully accomplished, providing a possibility of reusable affinity biosensing interface.  相似文献

微载体因其具有较高的表面积/体积比等优点可以大大提高哺乳动物细胞培养效率,被广泛应用于生物制药和组织工程等领域。 但微载体多为一次性使用,不耐高温,且主要依赖进口,价格昂贵,因而限制了其国内的应用和推广。 聚醚醚酮(PEEK)材料具有良好的生物相容性、化学稳定性及耐高温等特性,是一种优异的微载体材料,但存在熔点高,加工方法单一和生物惰性等缺陷。 本文以浓硫酸为溶剂,乙醇溶液为萃取剂,采用气流辅助滴注/相分离法,将PEEK制备成448 μm左右,尺寸均匀的微球;经氨丙基三乙氧基硅烷(APTES)处理,获得表面氨基化修饰的PEEK微球(PEEK-N);进一步,以N,N'-羰基二咪唑(CDI)为活性中间体,将明胶分子接枝到PEEK-N微球表面,获得表面明胶修饰的PEEK微载体(PEEK-G)。 对材料的物理化学性质、表面接枝量进行表征;并通过体外细胞实验评估其细胞毒性、细胞粘附效率和细胞增殖能力。 结果显示,通过该方法制备成功了3种不同明胶接枝含量的PEEK细胞微载体(PEEK-G1,PEEK-G2,PEEK-G3),其中明胶含量较高的PEEK-G3毒性最低,细胞粘附和增殖效果最理想。  相似文献

This paper reports a study on the effect of Al2O3 nanoparticles on the adhesion strength of steel-glass/epoxy composite joints bonded by a two-component structural acrylic adhesive. The addition of Al2O3 nanoparticles to the two-component acrylic adhesive led to a remarkable enhancement in the shear and tensile strength of the composite joints. The shear and tensile strength of the adhesive joints increased by addition of Al2O3 up to 1.5 wt%, which decreased by further addition of the nanofiller. Introduction of the nanoparticles caused a reduction in the peel strength of the joints. DSC analysis revealed that the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the adhesives rose by increasing the nanofiller content. The advancing water contact angle was decreased for adhesives containing nanoparticles. SEM micrographs indicated good dispersions of the Al2O3 nanoparticles within the acrylic matrix in the specimens with up to 1.5 wt% Al2O3 and revealed that addition of nanoparticles altered the fracture morphology from smooth to rough fracture surfaces.  相似文献

Changes in rheological, adhesive, and swelling properties of quaternary salts, made by adding one of eight mono‐ or six α,ω‐alkanedioic acids (the latter with two to six or nine carbon atoms) to 6‐7PSil (a polysiloxane with 6%–7% of the monomer units contain a 3‐aminopropyl group) have been correlated with the salt structures. The simple acid‐base chemistry initiates drastic changes in the bulk properties of the materials that depend on the amount and type of the added acid. Thus, the quaternized forms of the 6‐7PSil have significantly enhanced viscoelastic and adhesive properties compared to those of the initial polysiloxane, and they can swell selectively liquids based on their polarity. Also, interpenetrating networks have been made in situ by photopolymerization of salts with vinylic carboxylic acids. DFT calculations on model systems consisting of dimethylammonium α,ω‐alkanedioate salts with two to six carbon atoms provide insights into the interactions responsible for the unexpected dependence of the properties of the 6‐7PSil salts on the chain lengths of the diacids. The potential for applying the methodologies described here to systems with other amino‐substituted polymers and other acid types is noted. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Over finite local Frobenius non-chain rings with nilpotency index 3 and when the length of the codes is relatively prime to the characteristic of the residue field of the ring, the structure of the dual of γ-constacyclic codes is established and the algebraic characterization of self-dual γ-constacyclic codes, reversible γ-constacyclic codes and γ-constacyclic codes with complementary dual are given. We have studied the effect of interface heterogeneity on fracture, at both local and global scales. The single cantilever beam adhesion test was used to investigate interfacial fracture between polycarbonate plates and an elastic/fragile epoxy adhesive. Two surface treatments were applied to a (given) polycarbonate plate giving zones of strong and weak adhesion parallel to the crack direction. Calculated fracture energies differed from those expected from a simple rule-of-mixtures. A perturbation method, proposed by Rice, was used and results compared with crack fronts observed in situ. The technique was applied successfully but the difference in values of stress intensity factor between the zones was found substantially different from the experimental value. In an attempt to explain discrepancies, specimens with discontinuous crack fronts (adhesive and/or plates severed along the strong/weak adhesion frontier) were tested. Good agreement was found with the rule-of-mixtures predictions raising questions about the role of crack front continuity in load transfer.  相似文献
