ABSTRACT Trace amounts of cerium were analyzed by flow injection kinetic spectrophotometry, based on the decolorization reaction between arsenazo III and Ce(IV) in sulfuric acid medium at room temperature. The absorbance difference (ΔA) of decolorization was linear with the concentration of Ce(IV). The flow injection technique was used to precisely control the timing. Under the optimum conditions, the determination of Ce(IV) in the range 0.0–8.0 µg mL?1 with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9982, the regression equation was ΔA = 0.0014 + 0.0406c (µg mL?1). The detection limit (3σ) of 0.2 µg mL?1 was achieved at a sampling frequency of 60 h?1. The proposed method was applied to the analyses of Ce in soil successfully. 相似文献

Such parameters of the fluidized bed could be determined from a totality of individual measurements for measuring periods of 10 ms per single measurement by use of a miniature measuring probe within the interior of the fluidized bed reactor. The results of an experimental investigation of staggered tube bundle heat transfer to upward and downward moving vertical foam flow are presented in this article. It was determined that a dependency exists between tube bundle heat transfer intensity on foam volumetric void fraction, foam flow velocity and direction, and liquid drainage from foam. In addition to this, the influence of tube position of the bundle on heat transfer was investigated. Abstract Sub-millimetric synthetic, continuous, and pulsed-jet actuators under identical conditions of generation are experimentally compared. Particle image velocimetry and hot-wire anemometry were used for measuring the velocity field. In the second part of the article, the interaction of these three types of actuators with a transverse external flow is characterized using the same experimental techniques. The studied plate is bended downstream from the actuator. Two angles are studied—0° and 28°. The efficiency of the fluidic action on the reattachment of the boundary layer is shown to be strongly dependant on the type of the jet. 相似文献

This article presents an experimental study of thermo-hydrodynamic phenomena in a microchannel heat exchanger system. The aim of this investigation is to develop correlations between flow/thermal characteristics in the manifolds and the heat transfer performance of the microchannel. A rectangular microchannel fabricated by a laser-machining technique with channel width and hydraulic diameter of 87 μm and 0.17 mm, respectively, and a trapezoidal-shaped manifold are used in this study. The heat sink is subjected to iso-flux heating condition with liquid convective cooling through the channels. The temporal and spatial evolutions of temperature as well as total pressure drop across the system are monitored using appropriate sensors. Data obtained from this study were used to establish relationships between parameters such as longitudinal wall conduction factor, residence and switching time, and thermal spreading resistance with Reynolds number. Result shows that there exist an optimum Reynolds number and conditions for the microchannel heat exchanger system to result in maximum heat transfer performance. The condition in which the inlet manifold temperature surpasses the exit fluid temperature results in lower junction temperature. It further shows that for a high Reynolds number, the longitudinal wall conduction parameter is greater than unity and that the fluid has sufficient dwelling time to absorb heat from the wall of the manifold, leading to high thermal performance. 相似文献

Heat transfer in two-phase flow boiling of a dilute mixture of TiO2 nanoparticles in R141b base fluid in a smooth tube is investigated experimentally. Examining the obtained results reveals that enhancement of the convective heat transfer coefficient for the particle volume fractions of 0.01% and 0.03% in comparison with pure R141b is more pronounced for a higher volume fraction. The measured data also show that at higher vapor qualities, the improvement in heat transfer coefficient is greater. Moreover, the heat transfer coefficient decreases substantially with mass flux while an increase in saturation temperature leads to an improvement in this coefficient. 相似文献

An approximate method is developed to solve the full nonlinear equations governing two-dimensional irrotational flow in a free waterfall, falling under the influence of gravity, at high Froude number based on conditions far upstream. Schwarz—Christoffel transformation is used to map the region, in the complex potential-plane, onto the upper half-plane. The Hilbert transformation as well as the perturbation technique, for large Froude number, are used as a basis for the approximate solution of the problem. A complete solution, up to second-order approximation, for the downstream free-surfaces profiles, for different Froude number, is discussed and illustrated. The obtained approximate solutions are compared with those of other authors. Favourable agreement with other results suggests that this method is effective in dealing with flow problems strongly influenced by gravity and high Froude number. Zero-sum stochastic games with countable state space and with finitely many moves available to each player in a given state are treated. As a function of the current state and the moves chosen, player I incurs a nonnegative cost and player II receives this as a reward. For both the discounted and average cost cases, assumptions are given for the game to have a finite value and for the existence of an optimal randomized stationary strategy pair. In the average cost case, the assumptions generalize those given in Sennott (1993) for the case of a Markov decision chain. Theorems of Hoffman and Karp (1966) and Nowak (1992) are obtained as corollaries. Sufficient conditions are given for the assumptions to hold. A flow control example illustrates the results. 相似文献
