This paper deals with the study of the effect of MHD on thin films of a micropolar fluid. These thin films are considered for three different geometries, namely: (i) flow down an inclined plane, (ii) flow on a moving belt and (iii) flow down a vertical cylinder. The transformed boundary layer governing equations of a micropolar fluid and the resulting system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by using shooting method. Numerical results were presented for velocity and micro-rotation profiles within the boundary layer for different parameters of the problem including micropolar fluid parameters, magnetic field parameter, etc., which are also discussed numerically and illustrated graphically. 相似文献

A nonlocal Euler–Bernoulli elastic beam model is developed for the vibration and instability of tubular micro- and nano-beams conveying fluid using the theory of nonlocal elasticity. Based on the Newtonian method, the equation of motion is derived, in which the effect of small length scale is incorporated. With this nonlocal beam model, the natural frequencies and critical flow velocities for the case of simply supported system and for the case of cantilevered system are obtained. The effect of small length scale (i.e., the nonlocal parameter) on the properties of vibrations is discussed. It is demonstrated that the natural frequencies are generally decreased with increasing values of nonlocal parameter, both for the supported and cantilevered systems. More significantly, the effect of small length scale on the critical flow velocities is visible for fluid-conveying beams with nano-scale length; however, this effect may be neglected for micro-beams conveying fluid. 相似文献

利用高精度数值格式,研究了二维可压缩流体中的Kelvin-Helmholtz不稳定性,主要研究了可压缩性对Kelvin-Helmholtz稳定性增长率的影响.模拟定量的给出低Mach和高Mach数两种情况下,初始静压和对流Mach数以及Kelvin-Helmholtz不稳定性线性增长率的关系.模拟结果和自由剪切层以及混合层的实验结果以及理论分析一致.模拟表明,对流Mach数是描述流体可压缩性的合适参数,对流Mach数越小流体越不可压,Kelvin-Helmholtz不稳定性的线性增长率随对流Mach数的增加而减小.

理论分析了射流抛光的紊动冲击射流特点,构建了射流抛光的垂直冲击射流模型和斜冲击射流模型。根据射流抛光冲击射流的特点,比较各种流体模型后,采用RNG k-e 模型应用于射流抛光模型的计算。利用计算流体力学理论的二阶迎风格式对抛光模型方程离散,用SIMPLEC数值计算方法对射流抛光过程的紊动冲击射流和离散相磨粒分布进行数值模拟,得到了射流抛光过程的连续流场和离散相磨粒与水溶液的耦合流场,同时计算出了抛光液射流在工件壁面上的压力、速度、紊动强度、剪切力分布和磨粒体积质量分布,分析了垂直射流抛光模型和斜冲击射流抛光模型紊流流场的特点。 相似文献

The transmission efficiency, frequency and amplitude alteration have been measured by a simple technique of coupled oscillators
with a frequency gradient and in a system of non-Newtonian fluid in the form of corn-flour slime. The system of coupled oscillators
was found to exhibit preferential energy transfer towards the low frequency end with the reverse propagation severely damped.
Energy transfer in all directions was damped in the non-Newtonian fluid in comparison with water. Also the damping in non-Newtonian
fluids works only after a lower limit for input amplitude. While most of the previous studies focussed on dissipation of energy
within shock-absorbing systems, we demonstrate the contribution of re-distribution of energy reaching the output end to achieve
shock absorbing.

This paper presents a new numerical model to investigate the vibro-acoustic behaviour of two laminated glass plates enclosing a thin viscothermal fluid cavity. The aim of this work is to develop an original five layer (two skins plies, two adhesive films and a core ply) laminated plate finite element by mixing Kirchhoff and Mindlin plate’s theory. The formulation is based on the theory that accounts for the transverse shear in the adhesive films and in the core. The acousto-elastic model is established in dimensionless appropriate form including the effects of viscosity and thermal conductivity of fluid and by taking into account the fluid-structure interaction. The discretization of the energy functional by finite element method gives after minimisation a symmetrical coupled matrix system in which the acoustic matrices are frequency dependent. Therefore, an iterative procedure is derived to determine the eigenmodes of the coupled system. The modal approach is adopted to determine the vibro-acoustic system’s response. Then, the validation of the new laminate finite element model is achieved by comparing the sandwich plate results against data obtained from literature. Subsequently, predicted responses, such as the vibration transmissibility and the transmission loss of the coupled system, for a given laminated double glazing under an imposed homogeneous pressure are presented and discussed. Numerical results show the importance of both lamination and viscothermal fluid effects on double glazing vibro-acoustic behaviour. 相似文献
