本文开发了一套基于非结构网格的间断有限元方法(DG)程序,并对与单元形状无关的斜率限制器进行了研究。此程序支持多种网格类型,能够方便应用于具有混合单元的非结构网格,具有处理复杂几何结构的能力,为研究叶轮机械内部复杂流动现象提供了有效的研究工具。本文利用该程序对若干典型无黏和黏性问题进行数值模拟,结果表明,该程序具有较高的可信度,能够处理具有混合单元的非结构网格,并给出良好的数值模拟结果。 相似文献

The mild slope equation in its linear and non-linear forms is used for the modelling of nearshore wave propagation. The finite difference method is used to descretize the governing elliptic equations and the resulting system of equations is solved using GMRES-based iterative method. The original GMRES solution technique of Saad and Schultz is not directly applicable to the present case owing to the complex coefficient matrix. The simpler GMRES algorithm of Walker and Zhou is used as the core solver, making the upper Hessenberg factorization unneccessary when solving the least squares problem. Several preconditioning-based acceleration strategies are tested and the results show that the GMRES-based iteration scheme performs very well and leads to monotonic convergence for all the test-cases considered. 相似文献

We introduce the notion of signature for relations in mapping class groups and show that the signature of a Lefschetz fibration over the 2-sphere is the sum of the signatures for basic relations contained in its monodromy. Combining explicit calculations of the signature cocycle with a technique of substituting positive relations, we give some new examples of non-holomorphic Lefschetz fibrations of genus and which violate slope bounds for non-hyperelliptic fibrations on algebraic surfaces of general type.

This paper describes an efficient method (O(n)) to evaluate the Lipschitz constant for functions described in some algorithmic language. Considering arithmetical operations as the basis of the algorithmic language and supported by control structures, the rules to evaluate such Lipschitz constants are presented and their correctness is proved. An extension of the method to evaluate Lipschitz constants over interval domains is also presented. Examples are presented, but the effectiveness of the method is doubtful when compared to other approaches, and effective enhancements based on slope evaluations are also explored. 相似文献

A popular method for predicting pK(a) values for organic molecules in aqueous solution is to establish empirical linear least-squares fits between calculated deprotonation energies and known experimental pK(a) values. In virtually all such calculations, the empirically observed slope of the pK(a) vs. ΔE fit is significantly less than the theoretical value, 1/(2.303RT) (which is 0.73 mol/kcal at room temperature). In our own continuum solvation calculations (Zhang et al., J Phys Chem A 2010, 114, 432), the empirical slope for carboxylic acids was only 0.23 mol/kcal, despite the excellent fit to the experimental pK(a) values. There has been much speculation about the reason for this phenomenon. Although the ΔE - pK(a) relation neglects entropic effects, these are expected to largely cancel. The most likely cause for the strange behavior of the fitted slope is explicit solute-solvent (water) interactions, especially involving the ions, which cannot be described accurately by continuum solvation models. We used our previously developed pK(a) protocol (OLYP/6-311+G(d,p)//3-21G(d) with the COSMO solvation model) to investigate the effect of adding one or two explicit water molecules to the system. The slopes for organic acids (especially carboxylic acids) are much closer to the theoretical value when explicit water molecules are added to both the neutral molecule and the anion. However, explicit water molecules have almost no effect on the slopes for organic bases. Adding explicit water molecules to the ions only produces intermediate results. Unfortunately, linear fits involving explicit water molecules have much larger errors than with continuum solvation models alone and are also much more expensive. Consequently, they are not suitable for large-scale pK(a) calculations. The results compared with literature values showed that our predicted pK(a) s are more accurate. 相似文献

This paper reports the results of a research exploring the mathematical connections of pre-university students while they solving tasks which involving rates of change. We assume mathematical connections as a cognitive process through which a person finds real relationships between two or more ideas, concepts, definitions, theorems, procedures, representations or meanings or with other disciplines or the real-world. Four tasks were proposed to the 33 pre-university students that participated in this research; the central concept of the first task is the slope, the last three tasks contain concepts like velocity, speed and acceleration. Task-based interviews were conducted to collect data and later analysed with thematic analysis. Results showed most of the students made mathematical connections of the procedural type, the mathematical connections of the common features type are made in smaller quantities and the mathematical connection of the generalization type is scarcely made. This paper presents a method for designing solid shapes containing slopes where orientation appears opposite to the actual orientation when observed from a unique vantage viewpoint. The resulting solids generate a new type of visual illusion, which we call “impossible motion”, in which balls placed on the slopes appear to roll uphill thereby defying the law of gravity. This is possible because a single retinal image lacks depth information and human visual perception tries to interpret images as the most familiar shape even though there are infinitely many possible interpretations. We specify the set of all possible solids represented by a single picture as the solution set of a system of equations and inequalities, and then relax the constraints in such a way that the antigravity slopes can be reconstructed. Slope is a fundamental mathematics concept in middle and high school that transcends to the university level. An understanding of slope is needed at the university level since slope plays an important role in understanding problems involving variation and change. In this study Mexican curricula documents were examined to determine which conceptualizations of slope are addressed in the intended mathematics curriculum. To explain the results, we use conceptualizations of slope identified in previous research. Our findings reveal that, to a certain extent, the conceptualizations proposed in the Mexican intended mathematics curriculum differ slightly in terms of the emphasis and timing of instruction from what others have identified in the U.S., with slope as a geometric ratio receiving less emphasis in the Mexican curriculum. There was also noted discontinuity within the Mexican curriculum in introducing slope in grade 9 and subsequently introducing of linear functions in grade 10 without explicit mention of slope. Suggestions are made for future studies, both to consider the conceptualizations of slope promoted in the Mexican textbooks and the impact they have in classroom instruction and student learning of slope. 相似文献
