OSCILLATION FOR NONAUTONOMOUS NEUTRAL DYNAMIC DELAY EQUATIONS ON TIME SCALES

The article is concerned with oscillation of nonautonomous neutral dynamic delay equations on time scales. Sufficient conditions are established for the existence of bounded positive solutions and for oscillation of all solutions of this equation. Some results extend known results for difference equations when the time scale is the set Z of positive integers and for differential equations when the time scale is the set R of real numbers.     

Runge–Kutta Methods for Itô Stochastic Differential Equations with Scalar Noise

A general class of stochastic Runge–Kutta methods for Itô stochastic differential equation systems w.r.t. a one-dimensional Wiener process is introduced. The colored rooted tree analysis is applied to derive conditions for the coefficients of the stochastic Runge–Kutta method assuring convergence in the weak sense with a prescribed order. Some coefficients for new stochastic Runge–Kutta schemes of order two are calculated explicitly and a simulation study reveals their good performance.

Case of a Boltzmann gas leading to the Smoluchowski coagulation equation

A special model of a rarefied hard-sphere gas is considered. The hard-sphere particles undergo absolutely elastic collisions. It is assumed that particles can collide only if their nonzero velocities are orthogonal to each other. The model makes it possible to proceed from the Boltzmann equation to the Smoluchowski coagulation equation, where coagulation means that the kinetic energies of the colliding particles are added. A Monte Carlo scheme for simulation of the phenomenon is described, and the convergence of the simulation algorithm is proved. The convergence of numerical results to exact solutions of the Smoluchowski equation and to finite-difference solutions is tested.     

An approximate solution to the integral radiative transfer equation in an optically thick slab

We consider the problem of solving the integral form of the radiative transfer equation in an atmosphere with optical thickness τ₀?1. We propose two methods transforming this problem to a finite set of the independent problems of the same type set in an atmosphere with optical thickness much less then τ₀. Blow Up of Solutions to Semilinear Wave Equations with Critical Exponent in High Dimensions

In this paper, the author considers the Cauchy problem for semilinear wave equations with critical exponent in n≥4 space dimensions. Under some positivity conditions on the initial data, it is proved that there can be no global solutions no matter how small the initial data are.     

The Cauchy Problem of the Nonlinear Schr■dinger Equations in R~(1 1)

In this paper,we consider the local and global solution for the nonlinear Schrdinger equationwith data in the homogeneous and nonhomogeneous Besov space and the scattering result for small data.Thetechniques to be used are adapted from the Strichartz type estimate,Kato's smoothing effect and the maximalfunction(in time)estimate for the free Schrdinger operator.

By using the averaging technique, we obtain new oscillation criteria for second order delay differential equation with nonlinear neutral term. These results generalize and improve some known results about neutral delay differential equation of second order.
