The X-ray absorption jump factor and jump ratio of Gd, Dy, Ho and Er were measured with a Si(Li) detector by attenuation, with Gd, Dy, Ho and Er foil, a Compton peak produced by the scattering of the Am-241 Gamma rays. Al was chosen as secondary exciter. The experimental absorption jump factors and jump ratios are compared with the theoretical estimates of WinXcom (Radiat. Phys. Chem. 60 (2001) 23), McMaster (Compilation of X-ray cross sections UCRL-50174, 1969; Sec. II. Rev. I), Broll (X-ray Spectrom 15 (1986) 271), Hubbel and Seltzer (NISTIR (1995) 5632) and Budak (Radiat. Meas. accepted for publication). The present results constitute the first measurement for this combination of energy and elements, and good agreement is obtained between experiment and theory.  相似文献

Pressure and tilt data are jointly inverted to simultaneously map the orientation and dimensions of a hydraulic fracture.The deformation induced by a fracture under internal pressure is modeled using the distributed dislocation technique.The planar fracture is represented by four quarter ellipses,joined at the center and sharing semi-axes.This configuration provides a straightforward model for characterizing asymmetric fracture geometry.The inverse problem of mapping the fracture geom-etry is formulated using the Bayesian probabilistic method,combining the a priori information on the fracture model with updated information from pressure and tilt data.Solving the nonlinear inverse problem is achieved by pseudo-randomly sam-pling the posterior probability distribution through the Markov chain Monte Carlo method.The resulting posterior probability distribution is then explored to assess uncertainty,resolution,and correlation between model parameters.Numerical experi-ments are conducted to verify the accuracy and validity of the proposed analysis method in mapping the fracture geometry using synthetic pressure and tilt data.  相似文献

There have been a few recent numerical implementations of the stress‐jump condition at the interface of conjugate flows, which couple the governing equations for flows in the porous and homogenous fluid domains. These previous demonstration cases were for two‐dimensional, planar flows with simple geometries, for example, flow over a porous layer or flow through a porous plug. The present study implements the interfacial stress‐jump condition for a non‐planar flow with three velocity components, which is more realistic in terms of practical flow applications. The steady, laminar, Newtonian flow in a stirred micro‐bioreactor with a porous scaffold inside was investigated. It is shown how to implement the interfacial jump condition on the radial, axial, and swirling velocity components. To avoid a full three‐dimensional simulation, the flow is assumed to be independent of the azimuthal direction, which makes it an axisymmetric flow with a swirling velocity. The present interface treatment is suitable for non‐flat surfaces, which is achieved by applying the finite volume method based on body‐fitted and multi‐block grids. The numerical simulations show that a vortex breakdown bubble, attached to the free surface, occurs above a certain Reynolds number. The presence of the porous scaffold delays the onset of vortex breakdown and confines it to a region above the scaffold. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The kinetic curves at infinite temperature for the solid-state reactions of the interface shrinkage type were drawn theoretically by taking account the particle size distribution in the sample mixture. The CRTA curves for the reactions with the particle size distribution can be drawn by utilizing the universal kinetic curves at infinite temperature. The proper kinetic treatment for the CRTA curves with the particle size distribution is discussed in connection with the property of the kinetic equation with respect to the particle size distribution. The present kinetic consideration is taken as a simulation for the reactions with a certain distribution in among the reactant particles, produced preferably by the mass and heat transfer phenomena during the thermoanalytical measurements. The merit of the rate jump method by a single cyclic CRTA curve is also discussed on the basis of the present results.  相似文献

We find an analytic solution of the Smolukhovsky problem of the temperature and electric potential jumps in a metal under the action of the temperature gradient normal to the surface. We take the character of the electron energy accommodation on the surface into account. The classical diffusion theory cannot explain the temperature kink of the activation energy and the anomalous isotopic effect observed in the hydrogen atom migration in BCC metals. We present a theory based on the equations of quantum statistical mechanics that permits interpreting both these phenomena completely. In this study, analytical relations for evaluating the exact solution of natural fre- quency and mode shape of beams with embedded shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are presented. Beams are modeled according to Euler-Bernoulli, Timoshenko and third order beam (Reddy) the- ories. A relation is obtained for determining the effect of axial load generated by the recovery action of pre-strained SMA wires. By defining some dimensionless quantities~ the effect of different me- chanical properties on the frequencies and mode shapes of the system are carefully examined. The effect of axial load generated by SMA wires with buckling load and frequency jump is accurately studied.  相似文献
