The tertiary chlorine (Clt) content of vinyl chloride/2‐chloropropene copolymers [P(VC‐co‐2CP)] was determined by NMR spectroscopy. Copolymers containing 6.8–47.0 Clt's per P(VC‐co‐2CP) chain were used to initiate the cationic grafting of α‐methylstyrene, norbornadiene, indene, and norbornene with Et2AlCl under various conditions. Grafting was demonstrated by selective solvent extraction, and the effect of the experimental conditions on the grafting efficiency was examined. Select rheological and thermal characteristics of P(VC‐co‐2CP) grafts, including the glass‐transition temperature, heat deflection temperature, and discoloration upon heating, were studied. P(VC‐co‐2CP) carrying 7–11 poly(α‐methylstyrene) or polynorbornadiene branches per chain raised the glass‐transition temperature to, or above, that of a blend control. P(VC‐co‐2CP)s fitted with polyindene or polynorbornene branches were less effective in raising the mechanical properties. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work some calorimetric measurements were also carried out on the electrorefining silver by using different current densities with a Calvet type microcalorimeter at room temperature. The ratio (R) of the measured heat (
m) to the input electric energy (
in) and the excess heat (
ex), i.e., difference between
m and
in during the electrorefining process, were discussed in terms of general thermodynamics. It was found that the R and
ex for silver were related with the current density or cell voltage employed in the experiment. The results obtained here also indicate that the heat generation under different conditions, such as different currents or voltages may be caused partially by the irreversibility of the process or by some unknown processes.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The (p,ρ,T) and (ps,ρs,Ts) properties of {(1−x)CH3OH + xLiBr} over a wide range of state parameters are reported for the first time. The experiments were carried out in a constant volume piezometer over a temperature range from 298.15 K to 398.15 K, at 0.08421, 0.13617, 0.19692, 0.23133 and 0.26891 mole fractions and from atmospheric pressure up to 60 MPa. The experimental uncertainties are ΔT=±3 mK for temperature, Δp=±5·10−2 MPa for high pressure and Δp=±5·10−4 MPa for atmospheric pressure, Δρ=±3·10−2 kg · m−3 for density. An equation of state was derived for correlation of the experimental data of the solutions.  相似文献

热处理前后不同组份比二元共混物聚乙烯醇(PVA)和聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)的聚集态结构研究表明,热处理可明显提高共混物的结晶性。热处理前样品仅观察到(101)晶面衍射,热处理后可观察到4个以上衍射晶面。结晶度和微晶大小随共混物中PVP含量增加而降低。第二类晶格畸变则随PVP含量增加而增大。  相似文献

Summary This study was aimed at optimizing the separation of non-ionic surfactants, resulting from the condensation of ethylene oxide with natural fatty alcohols in the C16 and C18 range (saturated and unsaturated), and presenting a high degree of condensation, i.e. 20 and 25 ethylene oxide units (Brij 99 and KM 25). The cation exchange stationary phase is a partially ionized silica, conditioned in different ways. We have studied the influence of the nature of cations on the separation selectivity. Cations studied included alkali metals (Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+, Cs+), alkaline earth metals (Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+), transition metals (Zn2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+, Cu2+), and quaternary ammonium (NH 4 + , NMe 4 + ) ions as well as a proton (acetic acid). The influences of ionic strength, pH and addition of cosolvent were examined. A study of the influence of temperature on the system selectivity evidenced a strong interdependance of these two parameters. The optimized conditions [mobile phase: CH3CN/H2O (92/8), pH 7.4, sodium acetate 5.10–3 M; temperature gradient between 25 and 50°C] allowed for the first time the distributions of Brij 99 and KM 25 to be obtained.  相似文献

The concentration dependences of heat capacities of aqueous solutions of several amino acid and peptide derivatives of fullerene were measured by scanning differential calorimetry at 298 K. The heat capacities for the arginine, alanylalanine, and glycylvaline derivatives dissolved in water depend slightly on concentration. The concentration dependences of the heat capacities of aqueous solutions of the serine and alanine derivatives display extrema. The calculated contributions of hydration to the heat capacities of the dissolved fullerene derivatives have both positive and negative signs. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. The three monofluorobenzoic acids together with 2,4-difluoro and 2,6-difluorobenzoic acids in aqueous solution are the subject of precision conductance measurements. The experimental data are analyzed to give ionization constants and limiting conductances at temperatures from 0 to 100°C. Walden products for the acid anions are derived from the limiting conductances while the ionization consatants are fitted by statistical methods to the function pK a (m)=A+B/T+ C logT+DT. Only the 2,6- acid requires the fourth term of the function to fit the data to a precision of better than 0.03%. Mathematical analysis of the pK function gives the standard changes in enthalpy, entropy, and heat capacity. All the acids studied are more acidic than the parent, benzoic acid, as well as more acidic than the isoelectronic methylbenzoic acids. In general the increased acidity is tied to decreases in enthalpy while entropy changes on ionization differn little from those found for the parent acid.  相似文献

Standard heats of formation, entropies, ionization potentials, and molecular dipole moments of a series of pyridines have been calculated by MNDO, AM1 and PM3 methods. Linear relationship have been established which permit a priori estimation of thermodynamic and molecular characteristics of pyridines. Densities and sound velocities of binary mixtures of cyclohexanone, 2-butanone, 1,4-dioxane and 1,2-dimethoxyethane were measured at 298.15 K and also the densities at 303.15 K. Excess volumes were determined from densities. Isentropic compressibilities were determined from densities and sound velocities, and excess thermal expansion factors were determined from excess volumes of two temperatures. Excess isothermal compressibilities and excess isochoric heat capacities were then estimated using excess isobaric heat capacities previously reported. Excess volumes and excess isentropic and isothermal compressibilities were negative except for cyclohexanone+1,4-dioxane system. The solubility and enthalpy of solution of benzene, cyclohexane, hexane, and heptane in formanide have been determined from titration microcalorimetric experiments at 25°C. The solution enthalpies are significantly more endothermic than in water but still the solubility is much higher. The entropy changes in formamide are small and positive and do not vary significantly with size. The enthalpies of solution of some 1-alkanols, 1-chloro- and 1,5-dichloropentane and pentane-1,5-diol were measured as functions of concentration. The solution enthalpies for 1-alkanols from methanol to decanol increase linearly with chain length. The enthalpic interaction coefficients hxx are small and negative in formamide while they are large and positive in water. The partial molar heat capacities C p,2 o for 1-propanol, 1-pentanol, benzene and cyclohexane in formamide were determined at 25°C from drop heat capacity measurements. Values of C p,2 o are only slightly larger than the molar heat capacities of the liquid solutes.  相似文献
