This paper presents results of numerical computations for floating off-shore wind turbines using, as an example, a machine of 10-MW rated power. The aerodynamic loads on the rotor are computed using the Helicopter Multi-Block flow solver developed at the University of Liverpool. The method solves the Navier–Stokes equations in integral form using the arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian formulation for time-dependent domains with moving boundaries. Hydrodynamic loads on the support platform are computed using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics method, which is mesh-free and represents the water and floating structures by a set of discrete elements, referred to as particles. The motion of the floating offshore wind turbine is computed using a Multi-Body Dynamic Model of rigid bodies and frictionless joints. Mooring cables are modelled as a set of springs and dampers. All solvers were validated separately before coupling, and the results are presented in this paper. The importance of coupling is assessed and the loosely coupled algorithm used is described in detail alongside the obtained results.  相似文献

In this paper, our attention is concentrated on the GMRES method for the solution of the system (IT)x=b of linear algebraic equations with a nonsymmetric matrix. We perform m pre-iterations y l+1 =T yl +b before starting GMRES and put y m for the initial approximation in GMRES. We derive an upper estimate for the norm of the error vector in dependence on the mth powers of eigenvalues of the matrix T Further we study under what eigenvalues lay-out this upper estimate is the best one. The estimate shows and numerical experiments verify that it is advisable to perform pre-iterations before starting GMRES as they require fewer arithmetic operations than GMRES. Towards the end of the paper we present a numerical experiment for a system obtained by the finite difference approximation of convection-diffusion equations.  相似文献

We propose to precondition the GMRES method by using the incomplete Givens orthogonalization (IGO) method for the solution of large sparse linear least-squares problems. Theoretical analysis shows that the preconditioner satisfies the sufficient condition that can guarantee that the preconditioned GMRES method will never break down and always give the least-squares solution of the original problem. Numerical experiments further confirm that the new preconditioner is efficient. We also find that the IGO preconditioned BA-GMRES method is superior to the corresponding CGLS method for ill-conditioned and singular least-squares problems.  相似文献

In this paper, we are presenting a proposal for new modified algorithms for RRGMRES and AGMRES. It is known that RRGMRES and AGMRES are viable methods for solving linear discrete ill-posed problems. In this paper we have focused on the residual norm and have come up with two improvements where successive updates and the stabilization of decreases for the residual norm improve performance respectively. Our numerical experiments confirm that our improved algorithms are effective for linear discrete ill-posed problems.  相似文献

在以前工作的基础上将广义极小残差(Generalized Minimum RESidual (GMRES)算法发展到用于求解二维可压Favier平均Navier-Stokes方程组。控制方程经Newton线化处理后构成近似的线性系统,然后采用分别耦合了LUSGS和ILU两种预处理矩阵的GMRES算法求解。Spalart-Allmaras湍流模型被用来封闭流体控制方程组,采用与流体控制方程非耦合的方式,使用LUSGS方法求解。对GMRES算法中矩阵-向量的乘积采用了有限插分方法,从而避免了精确的左端系数矩阵的计算和存储。对预处理矩阵的两种使用方法(左预处理和右预处理)进行了分析和讨论。用两个算例对LUSGS和ILU两各预处理矩阵进行了比较,同时探讨了左预处理和右预处理各自的优缺点。通过对Sajben扩压器和NACA0012有攻角流动的计算,表明带有预处理的GMRES算法在二维定常跨音黏性流动计算中相比于得到广泛应用的DDADI方法具有很大优势,左预处理要优于右预处理。  相似文献

The Ritz and harmonic Ritz values are approximate eigenvalues, which can be computed cheaply within the FOM and GMRES Krylov subspace iterative methods for solving non‐symmetric linear systems. They are also the zeros of the residual polynomials of FOM and GMRES, respectively. In this paper we show that the Walker–Zhou interpretation of GMRES enables us to formulate the relation between the harmonic Ritz values and GMRES in the same way as the relation between the Ritz values and FOM. We present an upper bound for the norm of the difference between the matrices from which the Ritz and harmonic Ritz values are computed. The differences between the Ritz and harmonic Ritz values enable us to describe the breakdown of FOM and stagnation of GMRES. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the roundoff error propagation in an algorithm which computes the orthonormal basis of a Krylov subspace with Householder orthonormal matrices. Moreover, we analyze special implementations of the classical GMRES algorithm, and of the Full Orthogonalization Method. These techniques approximate the solution of a large sparse linear system of equations on a sequence of Krylov subspaces of small dimension. The matrix-free Newton-Krylov method that uses the GMRES algorithm (an iterative algorithm for solving systems of linear algebraic equations) is used for the parametric continuation of the solitary traveling pulse solution in a three-component reaction-diffusion system. Using the results of integration on a short time interval, we replace the original system of nonlinear algebraic equations by another system that has more convenient (from the viewpoint of the spectral properties of the GMRES algorithm) Jacobi matrix. The proposed parametric continuation proved to be efficient for large-scale problems, and it made it possible to thoroughly examine the dependence of localized solutions on a parameter of the model.  相似文献
