In this paper, a characteristic equation involving the stream function, already given by one of the authors in a previous work for classifying axisymmetric incompressible flows, is re-considered. Non-uniform nearly extensional flows are derived as particular solutions from this equation. Using experimental data in the literature for polymer solutions and melts, it is proved that particular solutions of the characteristic equation lead to kinematics very close to those encountered in the fiber-spinning process. The kinematic equations satisfactorily correlating the fiber-spinning data are used in order to determine the ability of constitutive equations to predict realistic stresses in the flow domain. The rheological parameters of the fluids, obtained from experiments, are used for computation of differential and integral constitutive equations in the spinning conditions. An experimental study of mixing across density interfaces produced by laterally heterogenous turbulence is presented in this paper. The turbulence is generated by a flow or air bubles rising through a density interface produced by brine and fresh water. The mixing efficiency, , of the process is measured comparing the increase in potential energy with the available kinetic energy. We find that there is a decrease in the global mixing efficiency of the process with the length of the tank, the shape of (Ri) depends also on the air flow producing the turbulence, showing a geometrical limit to the ammount of kinetic energy which may be used for mixing.  相似文献

自然对流边界层中从层流到湍流的转捩经历了浮力振型、无摩擦振型和黏性振型的三重流动不稳定性相继产生的前转捩过程,以及近壁迅速出现强湍流源,随之平缓地向自模拟的湍流边界层过渡的热转捩过程.浮力振型在修正Grashof数G>40时开始失稳并成为主要振型,在振幅分布中3种振型的临界层位置处出现3个峰值;在G>100时浮力振型消失,无摩擦振型失稳并成为主要振型,振幅分布中在近壁区还出现黏性振型的峰值;在G>170时无摩擦振型经非线性演化在外层形成较弱的湍流,但内层黏性应力仍远高于湍流应力,振幅分布中仅有与黏性振型相应的峰值,在频谱中黏性振型的基频、第一、第二、第三阶亚谐频随G的增加相继出现,此时黏性不稳定波的高频成分已转化为湍流,但低频成分仍按线性规律增长,直至湍流惯性子区开始形成;至G>800时黏性振型消失,并在G=850附近时近壁区出现强湍流源,湍流应力、湍能产生项和近壁湍流热流率剧增.在热转捩后期,湍流应力和湍能产生项明显下降,流动在内外层趋于平衡.  相似文献

An analytic solution is obtained for forced convection flow in a parallel-plates channel or a circular duct occupied by a hyper-porous medium saturated with a rarefied gas in the slip-flow regime, for the case of uniform flux boundary conditions. As expected, it is found that velocity slip leads in general to increased heat transfer and temperature slip leads to reduced heat transfer.  相似文献

It is well known that the onset of convection in an inclined porous layer heated from below takes the form of longitudinal vortices when Darcy’s law is valid. In this paper we consider briefly how the onset criterion alters when form drag, as modelled by the Forchheimer terms, is significant. In general, the critical Rayleigh number increases substantially as form drag effects strengthen, but the wavenumber rises by only a small amount. This numerical study is supplemented by a brief asymptotic analysis of the case when the Forchheimer terms dominate and it is shown that the critical Rayleigh number increases in direct proportion with the form drag parameter.  相似文献

The governing equation for Darcy-Forchheimer flow of non-Newtonian inelastic power-law fluid through porous media has been derived from first principles. Using this equation, the problem of Darcy-Forchheimer natural, forced, and mixed convection within the porous media saturated with a power-law fluid has been solved using the approximate integral method. It is observed that a similarity solution exists specifically for only the case of an isothermal vertical flat plate embedded in the porous media. The solutocapillary Marangoni convection around a gas bubble in the inhomogeneous binary mixture of miscible fluids with a vertical surfactant concentration gradient was studied experimentally. A new phenomenon, the oscillatory instability of the surfactant mass transfer, near the bubble boundary, was detected and investigated. The interpretation of this effect as an interaction between the surfactant adsorption at the bubble free surface and solutocapillary and buoyancy convective mechanisms is proposed. The experimental data on oscillation period in relation to bubble dimensions, time, liquid layer thickness, physico-chemical fluid parameters and concentration gradients are presented and discussed. The linear stability theory is used to investigate analytically the Coriolis effect on centrifugally driven convection in a rotating porous layer. The problem corresponding to a layer placed far away from the axis of rotation was identified as a distinct case and therefore justifying special attention. The stability of the basic centrifugally driven convection is analysed. The marginal stability criterion is established as a characteristic centrifugal Rayleigh number in terms of the wavenumber and the Taylor number.  相似文献

热电材料是一种环境友好型功能材料,其可以实现热能与电能的相互转化,在热电发电、热电制冷中具有许多应用.传统的热电发电机为$\pi$型结构,要求热电腿的长度相等,在某些情况该结构不利于热电发电机的优化设计.热电发电机在高温工况下会引起强烈的热应力甚至应力集中,从而缩短了其工作寿命.另外,热电发电机的工作温度于环境温度,这样必然会有一部分热量散失到环境中,从而影响热电发电机的性能.针对该现象,本文建立了考虑散热的新型共线式热电发电机模型,该模型的热电腿可以独立进行优化,基于有限元方法,对考虑侧面散热的共线式热电发电机进行了仿真模拟,分析了其在狄利克雷边界条件下的热电性能和力学性能,得到了热电发电机的温度场、电势场、应力场,探究了不同强度的对流散热系数对热电发电机热电性能和力学性能的影响.结果表明,对流散热会降低热电发电机的能量转化效率,当对流换热系数达到~100W/(m$^{2}\cdot$\textcelsius) 时,效率为~0.0479,该值比绝热状态的转化效率0.066 7 低28%.对流散热使热电发电机侧面热损失增加,降低了热应力.在实际应用中,应合理优化设计隔热系统,提高能量的转化效率.   相似文献

The stationary and time-dependent aerodynamic coefficients of a slender blunt cone with a flap located near the base section of the model are experimentally investigated. The freestream parameters (M = 6, Re L = 0.88 × 107, and γ = 1.4) ensured a turbulent regime of flow over the conical surface and the flap. At high angles of attack (α ~ 10°) laminar-turbulent transition is observable in the separation zone on the leeward side of the body. Emphasis is placed on the determination of the trimming angles of attack for different positions of the center of rotation and the static and dynamic stability coefficients (the model oscillation damping coefficient).  相似文献
