Axial compression and energy absorption characteristics of high-strength thin-walled cylinders under impact load 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Non-linear finite element software LS-DYNA is used to analyze the axial compression behavior and energy absorption of a high-strength thin-walled member under an impact load. To elucidate the effect of dynamic impact on the strain rate, the Cowper-Symonds equation is applied to analyze the plastic state of stress and the onset of dynamic yielding under different strain rates, such that the modeled deformation behavior of the member is consistent with the actual situation. Results for the thin-walled members made of mild steel and dual phase steel are compared. Assuming two different materials with equal sectional areas, an analysis confirms that the energy absorption of high-strength steel thin-walled component is better than the mild steel thin-walled component. Hence, thin-walled tubes made of high-strength steel are investigated using a series of analysis. The relationships between displacement and load, average load and energy absorption properties are obtained. 相似文献

In this paper, the properties of cylindrical high permittivity dielectric particles are studied. A design for broadband reduction of the scattering signature of metallic objects is proposed by implementing simplified ground-plane cloaking schemes. The devices are functional in the presence of a ground plane as well as in free space ranging from 4 GHz to 10 GHz. The required dielectric map for the cloak is achieved by means of manipulating the dimensions of the periodically distributed dielectric cylinders embedded in a host medium with a permittivity close to one. The scattering reduction effects are verified through simulation results. The proposed all dielectric cloaks are advantageous over other schemes due to their non-dispersive nature, the broad bandwidth, the low loss, and the ease of fabrication. 相似文献

In this paper based on the equivalence principle and the reciprocity theorem, the
scattered field up to second-order by two parallel 2D targets arbitrarily located in
a Gaussian beam is considered. The first-order solution can easily be obtained by
calculating the scattered field from isolated targets when illuminated by a Gaussian
beam. However, because of the difficulty in formulating the couple scattering field,
it is almost impossible to find an analytical solution for the second-order
scattered field if the shapes of 2D targets are not canonical geometries. In order
to overcome this problem, in this paper, the second-order solution is derived by
using the technique based on the reciprocity theorem and the equivalence principle.
Meanwhile, the relation between the secondary scattered field from target #1 and
target {\#}2 is obtained. Specifically, the bi- and mono-static scattering of
Gaussian beam by two parallel adjacent inhomogeneous plasma-coated conducting
circular cylinders is calculated and the dependence of attenuation of the scattering
width on the thickness of the coated layer, electron number density, collision
frequency and radar frequency is discussed in detail. 相似文献

Laminar free convection heat transfer from two vertical arrays of five isothermal cylinders separated by flow diverters is studied experimentally using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The width of flow diverters is kept constant to two-cylinder diameters and the cylinders vertical center-to-center spacing is equal to three-cylinder diameter. Effect of the ratio of the horizontal spacing between two cylinder arrays to their diameter (Sh/D) on heat transfer from the cylinders is investigated for various Rayleigh numbers. The experiments are performed for Sh/D = 2-4, and the Rayleigh number based on the cylinder diameter ranging from 103 to 3 × 103. It is observed that for small Sh/D ratios, the flow diverters have a negative effect on the total rate of heat transfer from the arrays; while by increasing the horizontal center to center spacing, they tend to enhance the overall cooling rate of the array. Moreover, increasing Ra and Sh/D generally results in a higher average Nusselt number for each cylinder in the array. 相似文献

在光子晶体环形腔中增加两个散射介质柱,构成一个新型的环形腔滤波器,该滤波器能有效选择光波透过,光波的透射率可以达到90%以上,带宽较小.可通过这两种不同的调节方式使滤波器中波长的带宽和数值进行任意的改变:1)减小散射介质柱半径,从负载波导输出波长的带宽变大,主波导中波长的带宽减小;增大其半径时,它们的变化正好相反.2)改变耦合区域介质柱半径的大小,滤波器中波长的数值也会相应地变化,它与介质柱半径的变化呈正比,并且透射率也会发生明显的变化.这就为其在制备集成光子器件的应用中奠定了基础.

This work studies transient thermal stresses in a thick hollow cylinder made of a functionally graded material (FGM). Material properties are considered to be nonlinear with a power law distribution through the thickness. The cylinder is assumed to be of infinite length, and the plane strain condition is supposed. The displacement and the distribution of stresses are obtained by analytical solution of governing differential equations of the Navier type. The transient dynamic behavior of thermal stresses is determined and discussed for various power law exponents appearing in functions determining mechanical properties of FGMs. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
