The gelation of a ceramic precursor, zirconium alkoxide, has been studied using dynamic oscillatory measurements. The gelation time is controlled by varying the concentrations of zirconium propoxide, hydrolysis with water, and acetylacetone concentration which acts as a chelating ligand. Gelation times were varied from minutes to months. The gelation time varied with zirconium concentration to the –10 power, hydrolysis to the –7 power, and ligand concentration of the –17 power. The sol-gel transition was monitored using the criteria of Winter in which GG n and tan () = tan . It is shown that the use of multiple superimposed sinusoidal waves to simultaneously measure the moduli at several frequencies is faster than using individual frequency sweep experiments. The selection of rate and strain criteria for brittle network gels is discussed in detail.  相似文献

Thin films of SnO2 were deposited by RF-magnetron sputtering on quartz substrates at room temperature in an environment of Ar and O2. The XRD pattern shows amorphous nature of the as-deposited films. The optical properties were studied using the reflectance and transmittance spectra. The estimated optical band gap (Eg) values increase from 4.15 to 4.3 eV as the Ar gas content decreases in the process gas environment. The refractive index exhibits an oscillatory behavior that is strongly dependent on the sputtering gas environment. The Urbach energy is found to decrease with increase in band gap. The band gap is found to decrease on annealing the film. The role of oxygen defects is explored in explaining the variation of optical parameters.  相似文献

We present systematic studies that comprise phase connectivity and dielectric, multiferroic (MF) and magnetoelectric (ME) properties of (x) Ni0.8Co0.2Fe2O4+(1−x) Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.67Ti0.33O3 [where x=0.15, 0.30 and 0.45] ME composites prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. Scanning electron microscopic images of the composites predict different types of connectivity schemes viz 3-0, 3-1 and 3-3. The phase transition temperature of PMN-PT is independent of Ni0.8Co0.2Fe2O4 content. Room temperature P-E and M-H loops indicate the simultaneous existence of ferroelectric/magnetic ordering. In order to study the possibility of monitoring electrical ordering by means of a magnetic field, ME measurements were carried out. The composition-dependent phase connectivity was well co-related to formation of percolation path and inturn magnetoelectric output.  相似文献

Thin films of BixCo2−xMnO4 (x=0, 0.1 and 0.3) were grown on quartz, LaAlO3 (LAO) and YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) buffer layer coated LAO substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman scattering measurements showed that the thin films exhibit single phase polycrystalline cubic spinel structure on all the substrates. Near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) studies confirmed the octahedral occupancy of the substituted Bi3+ ions. Temperature dependent zero-field cooled (ZFC) magnetization measurements show the ferrimagnetic (FM) behavior (TC∼186 K) and magnetization undergoes a crossover from positive to negative, owing to the opposite contributions of magnetic moments from Co and Mn ions. A weak ferroelectric property exhibited by the films above room temperature was evidenced through the capacitance-voltage (C-V) and dielectric measurements. Magnetoelectric coupling was found to be maximum just below FM-TC.  相似文献

Yb3+:CaF2-YF3 transparent ceramics with excellent optical quality was successfully fabricated by hot-pressed method. Pulsed laser properties of this ceramics were investigated for the first time. Laser diode (LD) was applied as the pump source to generate a dual-wavelength mode-locked (ML) laser. The maximum average output power was 310 mW, which represents the highest output power of ultrafast calcium fluoride ceramic laser. The spectrum separated at 1048.9 nm and 1049.7 nm with a total pulse duration of 8.9 ps. The interval period between the beating signals was about 4.3 ps, corresponding to a 0.23 THz beat pulse repetition rate. These results demonstrate its potential in producing dual-wavelength ultrashort pulses. These Yb3+:CaF2-YF3 ceramics with low-cost and short-preparation period are ideal candidate materials for ultrafast lasers.  相似文献

This work presents a comprehensive study about the influence of Ba-substitution on the structural and ferroelectric properties of Pb1?x Ba x Zr0.40Ti0.60O3 (PBZT) ceramic system. Pb1?x Ba x Zr0.40Ti0.60O3 ceramic samples were then prepared by solid state reaction method and characterized as a function of composition and temperature by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and impedance spectroscopy techniques. The dielectric measurements show that the substitution of Pb2+ for Ba2+ ions leads to a diffuse behavior of the dielectric permittivity curves for all samples and that only the x?=?0.50 sample presents a typical relaxor behavior. In good agreement with dielectric measurements, the structural phase transition study showed a phase transition from a tetragonal structure with P4mm space group to a cubic structure with Pm-3m space group for all samples, except for the x?=?0.50 sample were a cubic structure was observed in the complete temperature interval measured.  相似文献

Fluorine is used in liquid crystal materials in order to give them particular properties as compared to their hydrocarbon homologues. This leads to use of the new compounds as materials mainly in display devices such as Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystals Display (TNLCD) or for the development of Surface Stabilized Ferroelectric smectic C* display (SSFLCDs). In this paper, we describe recent studies and research effort concerning the liquid crystalline behavior of compounds incorporating a highly fluorinated part with more than one fluoromethylene units. We examine some of their mesophase properties and the impact of molecular shape on the resulting liquid crystal behavior.  相似文献

For this study, a microcrystalline Ba(Zr0.05Ti0.95)O3 (BZT) powder was prepared by a high energy ball milling method followed by calcination at 1100 °C for 4 h. The calcined powder was structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement data, which showed that this material has a perovskite-type tetragonal structure with a space group of (P4mmm). The micro-Raman spectrum revealed local lattice distortions due to distorted octahedral [TiO6] clusters. The temperature and frequency-dependent dielectric study of the BZT ceramic showed normal phase transition behavior. The ferroelectric property was studied by a PE hysteresis loop. Optical band gap was investigated by ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) absorption spectroscopy at room temperature. The UV–vis spectrum indicated that the BZT powder has an optical band gap of 3.15 eV.  相似文献

A new microreplication process with photo-etchable glass–ceramic stamps and polymers is presented. This process has two main advantages: a rapid master fabrication with a laser process and a flexible replication process compared with conventional nano- or microreplication technique on polymers. Photo-etchable glass–ceramics are used for the master stamp. Micropatterns can be rapidly transferred with a laser direct writing process and the removal of the glass–ceramics can be efficiently achieved with a wet etching process. Therefore, microstructures with flat bottom surfaces and straight sidewall structures can be obtained, which is difficult in the laser direct writing process. A microstamping process of applying heat and pressure, also referred to as hot embossing lithography or microstamping, can replicate microstructures on polymer surfaces. In this work, the fabricated glass–ceramic stamps are used for the replication process and various replicated polymer microstructures are presented.  相似文献

The (Pb0.90La0.10)TiO3 [PLT] thick films (3.0 μm) with a PbO buffer layer were deposited on the Pt(1 1 1)/Ti/SiO2/Si(1 0 0) substrates by RF magnetron sputtering method. The PLT thick films comprise five periodicities, the layer thicknesses of (Pb0.90La0.10)TiO3 and PbO in one periodicity are fixed. The PbO buffer layer improves the phase purity and electrical properties of the PLT thick films. The microstructure and electrical properties of the PLT thick films with a PbO buffer layer were studied. The PLT thick films with a PbO buffer layer possess good electrical properties with the remnant polarization (Pr=2.40 μC cm−2), coercive field (Ec=18.2 kV cm−1), dielectric constant (εr=139) and dielectric loss (tan δ=0.0206) at 1 kHz, and pyroelectric coefficient (9.20×10−9 C cm−2 K−1). The result shows the PLT thick film with a PbO buffer layer is a good candidate for pyroelectric detector.  相似文献
