NONUNIQUENESS AND SINGULAR RADIAL SOLUTIONS OF SYSTEMS OF CONSERVATION LAWS Dedicated to Professor Constantine M. Dafcrmos on the occasion of his 70th birthday

The case of a radial initial state for a family of hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with several spatial dimensions is considered.It will be shown that the singularity at the origin introduces multiple solutions outside of the traditional admissible classes.     

Third‐order WENO scheme with a new smoothness indicator

In this article, we have devised a new reference smoothness indicator for third‐order weighted essentially non‐oscillatory (WENO) scheme to achieve desired order of convergence at critical points. In the context of the weighted essentially non‐oscillatory scheme, reference smoothness indicator is constructed in such a way that it satisfies the sufficient condition on the weights for the third‐order convergence. The goal is to construct a reference smoothness indicator such that the resulted scheme have to achieve the required order of accuracy even if the first two derivatives vanish but not the third derivative. The construction of such reference smoothness indicator is not possible through a linear combination of local smoothness indicators only. We have proposed a reference smoothness indicator to be of the fourth order of accuracy on three‐point stencil that contains the linear combination of the first derivative information of the local and global stencils. The performance enhancement of the WENO scheme through this reference smoothness indicator is verified through the standard numerical experiments. Numerical results indicate that the new scheme provides better results in comparison with the earlier third‐order WENO schemes like WENO‐JS and WENO‐Z. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

The derivation of the conservation law for defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations with non-vanishing initial data at infinity

For nonlinear Schrödinger equations in less than or equal to four dimension, with non-vanishing initial data at infinity, a new approach to derive the conservation law is obtained. Since this approach does not contain approximating procedure, the argument is simplified and some of technical assumption of the nonlinearity to derive the conservation law and time global solutions, is removed.     

Uniform limit laws of the logarithm for nonparametric estimators of the regression function in presence of censored data

In this paper, we establish uniform-in-bandwidth limit laws of the logarithm for nonparametric Inverse Probability of Censoring Weighted (I.P.C.W.) estimators of the multivariate regression function under random censorship. A similar result is deduced for estimators of the conditional distribution function. The uniform-in-bandwidth consistency for estimators of the conditional density and the conditional hazard rate functions are also derived from our main result. Moreover, the logarithm laws we establish are shown to yield almost sure simultaneous asymptotic confidence bands for the functions we consider. Examples of confidence bands obtained from simulated data are displayed.

Zhiber-Shabat方程,描述许多重要的物理现象,是一类重要的非线性方程,有着许多广泛的应用前景.本文给出Zhiber-Shabat方程的多辛几何结构和多辛Fourier拟谱方法.数值算例结果表明多辛离散格式具有较好的长时间的数值稳定性.     

Interactions of delta shock waves for the relativistic Chaplygin Euler equations with split delta functions

In this article, we are concerned with the interactions of delta shock waves with contact discontinuities for the relativistic Euler equations for Chaplygin gas by using split delta functions method. The solutions are obtained constructively and globally when the initial data consists of three piecewise constant states. The global structure and large time‐asymptotic behaviors of the solutions are analyzed case by case. During the process of the interaction, the strengths of delta shock waves are computed completely. Moreover, it can be found that the Riemann solutions are stable for such small perturbations with special initial data by letting perturbed parameter ε tends to zero. Incompatibility networks as models of scale-free small-world graphs

We make a mapping from Sierpinski fractals to a new class of networks, the incompatibility networks, which are scale-free, small-world, disassortative, and maximal planar graphs. Some relevant characteristics of the networks such as degree distribution, clustering coefficient, average path length, and degree correlations are computed analytically and found to be peculiarly rich. The method of network representation can be applied to some real-life systems making it possible to study the complexity of real networked systems within the framework of complex network theory.     

非等熵气体动力学方程组大初值问题的放缩框架

非等熵气体动力学系统Cauchy问题弱解全局存在性有两个公开问题:一个是包含真空的小初值问题,另一个是任意大初值问题.本文通过引入一个放缩框架证明了上述两个问题的等价性,即对于粘性消失解,其包含真空小初值问题的一致BV估计蕴含着任意大初值问题弱解的全局存在性.该放缩框架对大多数具有物理背景的双曲守恒律系统亦成立.     

三个不同领域实际问题相结合的教学方法探讨

通过建立肿瘤增长动力学模型,研究肿瘤增长动态规律时发现:肿瘤增长的全过程与龚珀兹增长曲线描述的经济增长过程完全相符;进一步给出了龚珀兹增长曲线与描述种群的增长与调节的逻辑斯蒂增长曲线完全相似.将上述三个属性完全不同的实际应用问题打包传授给学生的授课方法是有别于孤立地介绍三个具体问题的,学生的学习效果也会不同.
